So, in a spirit of public service, we bring you the news that the Priory clinic is to treat ‘text message addicts’ (our inverted commas, not theirs).

The Independent reports that ‘more people are becoming addicted to text messaging as a way of escaping problems with face-to-face relationships’.

Dr Mark Collins, head of the Priory’s addictions unit says that ‘the main thing is about avoiding reality and living in an artificial reality’.

And he should know.’
