‘THE complex history of the origins of human life has taken a new turn.

Little things please big minds

As the Guardian and Independent (“The 3ft-tall ‘hobbit’ that rewrites the history of mankind”) report on their front pages, scientists in Indonesia have unearthed a new species of human.

According to the findings, Homo Floresienis (named after the island of Flores where the discovery was made), stood one metre high, had a small brain and a distinctly human face.

Et voila! The forefathers of wee Jimmy Krankie, Robbie Williams, Geri Halliwell and any other number of smallish humanoid types have been discovered.

Next week boffins plan to find an orange skeleton and so complete the Dale Winton celebrity tree…’
