‘ALSO looking forward this week is Princess Diana’s former sister-in-law Victoria, Countess Spencer.

”Mine’s a double V&J”

So much so that she is planning on dropping the title she earned through her first marriage to Earl Spencer after getting hitched a second time to a certain Jonathan Aitken.

No, this is not the wielder of the trusty sword of truth nor even the holder of the shield of British fair play, but a fellow drug addict she met three years ago.

Hold on, we hear you say. Is this not the same Victoria, Countess Spencer who vowed never to marry again following her bitter divorce in 1997?

Well, yes it is - but if we can remind you of the words of a certain Paul Burrell: ”You should never say never because you don’t know what’s around the corner.”

Round the corner for Victoria (who keeps her title just long enough for the Hello! shoot) is no doubt a life of happiness and sobriety.

For the guests at the alcohol-free wedding, however, round the corner was a good pub where they could sneak off to when they needed something a bit stronger - and less vomit inducing - than the tea served in mugs bearing the initials V and J and two pink hearts.’
