Having seen pictures of the 2004 TV Moments aftershow party, we would advise all our readers to beg, borrow and, yes, even steal every last red cent they can get their hands on and put it all on Alex Best.

The former wife of celebrity boozer George Best appears not to have read the label on her vat of fake tan that says ‘For External Use Only’.

And in doing so, she has achieved a level of orangeness that even the legendary Robert Kilroy Silk never reached in his prime.

Indeed, were it not for the whiteness of her smile, we would have trouble distinguishing her from the red carpet as she walked into BBC Television Centre with Jennie Bond.

Next to her, the likes of Jodie Marsh and Myleene Klass - no strangers to the bottled tan both - literally pale into insignificance.

And so intimidated was Miss Deeley that, when she saw her competition as she pulled up in front of the party, she told her driver to carry on…’
