There’s the nation’s favourite female singer all grown up, taking in the sun and fun on the French Riviera.

Time was when Charlotte would have had to have asked mum’s permission to use the phone, but now she makes her own decisions, and if that means speaking on her mobile when she wants to, then so be it. The pictures prove it.

And if she wants to get changed, she can. So Charlotte swaps the white ensemble for a floral two-piece. It’s the perfect outfit in which to go zooming along the surf in a speedboat.

So that’s just what Charlotte does, zipping over the foamy waves in a boat, with some unnamed man at the helm.

But she’d best watch out as the wind blows, and she deftly uses one hand to keep her modesty intact.

Time to get changed, we think. So it’s out of the stringy number and into a pink pair of shorts and matching top. It’s the ideal look to lounge around on the boat’s deck with superstar rugby player Gavin Henson.

So that’s what she does. And Gavin – “waxed and preened to within an inch of his life” – rolls up the legs of his shorts to give the top of his thighs a chance to go as nut brown as his hairless torso.

But all too soon it’s over. Gavin’s off to New Zealand to play rugger, and shave his chest, for the British Lions.

And Charlotte is going to throw herself into her work, and a new bikini…’
