And Celebrity Street is soon to have a new arrival. Rattle your letter boxes and ring your doorbells for London Preston Federline.

Yes, London. Like the city in “Merry Olde England” Britney Spears so loves. The home of geysers, sparrers and tourists in voluminous checked shorts asking for Lie-sess-ter-shire Square.

And what of Preston? We had no idea Britney had ever visited that salubrious corner of Lancashire. Perhaps she didn’t, and just grew up hearing magical tales of local football legend Tom Finney.

Her delicious memories of watching the snooker’s 2004 Grand Prix tournament broadcast live and in glorious technicolour from Preston’s Guild Hall.

And then there is, as the place’s official website proclaims with understandable pleasure, the fact that Preston is “England’s newest city”. A new city for a new baby. The fit is all too obvious.

So flat caps off to Preston, England’s second city, and young London’s second name…’
