The Mirror says that Toga’s mum and dad, Oscar and Kyala, are worried senseless. Dad hasn’t stopped looking for his boy and mum has gone right off her food.

As Kath Bright, who manages the zoo from where Toga was snatched, says: “The mother starts braying every few hours hoping he will reply. She is off her food, eating enough to keep her going, but only just. She is pining.” She has empty nest syndrome.

So today we launch our appeal to help get Toga back to his parents.

Have you seen the little blighter? He’s 12in tall and weighs 10lb. He has black wings and a white undercarriage. He lives on regurgitated food.

And he goes nicely with bread sauce and gravy…’
