Kerry’s Pregnancy “CHLOE”

THE death of a high brand can be traced to the moment it appears writ across a T-shirt on a Z-lister’s chest.

But at first glance the doyens of the high-price Chloe label must have experienced a flutter of hope. Dare they believe that the top Kerry Katona is wearing on the cover of OK! says not “CHLOE” but something else?

All readers get to see is the “CHL…” pulled taught over Kerry’s gargantuan Katonas. Perhaps the final letters that disappear from view as the slogan rounds her bosom spell “CHLORINE”? Or “CHLORPROMAZINE”, a biter drug used as a sedative and against vomiting (source: OED). Or “CHOICE”.

Yes, CHOICE. Kerry has made CHOICE in her life, if not CHOICES. And her latest choice is to agree to marry Mark Croft next year. And to have Mark’s baby.

Kerry is pregnant. This may account for the stretched “CHL…” top and the fact that Kerry is holding a hand over her tummy in the manner of someone who has over-indulged on chips in curry sauce.

Indeed, Kerry thought she may have overeaten. She shares with us the thrill of discovering her pregnancy. She thought she was constipated. But she was with child.

And she is excited to tell her two daughters all about it. But Kerry was in Marbella and her daughters were in Ireland. “I said to them: ‘I’ve got a big surprise for you when you get home.’ Lilly said: ‘Is it a dog? A cat? A camel?’”

No. It’s a CHLOE top. A bit stretched but she’ll grow into it…
