Madeleine McCann: Watching The Parents
MORE no news on the Madeleine McCann case.
It is now a week since the three-year-old girl was snatched from a Portugal holiday resort.
The story has been distressing to watch on our TV screens. What it must like for the parents of Madeleine only a few can know.
BLAME
But their misery is far from complete. With no news of Madeleine, and the Portuguese police having no need to indulge the British tabloids with speculation and theory, Madeleine’s parents are the central characters.
And today’s front-page news, as reported by the caring Mirror, is: “THEY KNOW LEAVING KIDS WAS WRONG.”
Does the Mirror mean to say that Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry, now think they did the wrong thing in nipping out for a bite to eat and leaving the children in the apartment on what they thought was a secure resort?
Does the Mirror mean that the McCanns know that popping back regularly to look at their children and checking on their well being was less than perfect?
Does the Mirror mean that the McCanns realise they should not have left their children alone, just like it is wrong to leave a child in a hotel under the auspices of a baby monitoring service, to leave a child in the car while mum goes to pay for petrol, to talk to a neighbour over a garden fence while the children are indoors?
Of course this is not the Mirror’s view. Oh, no. This is Madeleine’s grandmother, Susan Healy, saying: “They know this was a mistake. But it wasn’t child neglect, it wasn’t not caring for your children.”
That she feels the need to say this is wrong. That the Mirror can lead with Madeleine’s grief-worn parents is pathetic and misguided. That the paper can talk of “people are asking why they didn’t make use of the crèche” at the resort or take the children out to dinner with them is wrong.
But the Mirror has news to write. And the police aren’t playing the game.
THEORIES
So the Mirror produces: “THE 6 THEORIES.”
Only six! Why this cautious approach? But it is all the Mirror has. And readers hear of the “PAEDOPHILE GANG”, the “LONE PAEDOPHILE”, the “JEALOUS MOTHER”, Madeleine wandering off and “DROWNED”, the “OPPORTUNIST PAEDOPHILE”, the “CHILDLESS COUPLE”.
But the Sun has more. It has 130 more. As the front-page headline screams: “MADDIE COPS HUNT 130 BRIT PAEDOS.”
The paper says “at least” 130 British paedophiles “might” have taken Madeleine McCann.
In “ALGARVE IS ‘HAVEN’ FOR PERVS”, readers learn that Portugal is a “magnet for sun-seeking perverts from Britain and the rest of Europe”.
Who knew that perverts get off on watching children at the beach?
Us And Them
But help is on its way. The Sun lists the British coppers who will go out there and see to it that justice is done. We, says the paper, are the only country with a sex offenders’ register.
All convicted perverts must inform the police of their desire to go abroad. At least 130 have. And the police are looking for them.
But – and whisper this – might it be that convicted sexual deviants don’t all tell the police what they plan to do? They are not monitored while overseas. And might it be that not all sexual predators are caught and make it to the list?
Among the policemans’ names is Detective Superintendent Graham Hill, attached to theChild Exploitation and Protection Centre. Hill is on the case. He has flown to Portugal.
Hill worked on the case of Milly Dowler. She was snatched from near Walton railway station, Surrey, in 2002. Her body was found six months later. Her killer or killers have never been caught.
Perhaps Hill’s experiences can help. Perhaps he’ll have more luck. Perhaps not.
Meanwhile, a family is distraught, and bearing up incredibly well under the strain and the merciless gaze of the newspapers…

“The Portuguese investigator heading the search for missing Madeleine McCann has reportedly been sacked. Gonçalo Amaral has been relieved of his duties as head of the regional Policia Judiciaria (PJ) in Portimao, Sky News sources said.
He also ceases to head the investigation into Madeleine’s disappearance.
Sky News understands the directors of the PJ are upset with statements he has made. Earlier, Mr Amaral accused Kate and Gerry McCann of calling the shots by identifying lines of inquiry for Leicestershire officers. He said British police have overlooked the fact that the couple remain suspects. And he accused the McCanns of releasing new information each day in a bid to distract and confuse the 152-day-old inquiry”.
Maybe a new senior investigating officer will stop the leaks and slurs, and concentrate on the task in hand, finding Madeleine, be she dead or alive.

Did you notice the following in that article :
“Also included is the name of Mari Olli, the first witness to say that she saw Madeleine in Morocco, on May 9. Mari Olli, married with Ray Pollard, from Leicester, told British Police she saw Madeleine at a shop, near a gas station in Marrakesh”.
Is that just one hell of a coincidence, that someone described as a Norwegian tourist should be married to a man from Leciester of all places, the McCanns’ home town?

The Mccanns may use the psychics and about religion, well catholic church condemns IVF and they did it twice and said they were thinking about a 4th child. So…psychics to find Madeleine, I would do the same, explore all possibilities, no matter I don’t believe but, there is always a “but”.
The police will not follow any psychics, they don’t believe that and don’t need , besides it is against the law too, I guess, as well as private investigators, and it can obstruct justice, imagine the Mccanns paying some psychics to go on playing their game of thinking Madeleine is alive, while the police knows long time ago she is dead. But police has to collect evidence enough for a conviction, although there is no body (yet) this “game” is serving very well it’s purpose. Seeing the Mccanns answering to everything that appears in the media, thinking it comes from police leaks, God, it’s so stupid! They don’t see they should be quiet and not tell anything ? The more stories and excuses they say the more we can see they have some guilt. Most things published come from journalists ! Not the police !

Also, at least 1000 Children have gone missing since Madeleine in Europe. Ask yourself why we don’t hear about any of them. I do. Ask yourself why Madeleine has been on the front page nearly every day since, even though there have been seriously important news that could have taken it’s place.
Consider the fact that we in the UK have an unelected Prime Minister for starters. Most of this seems to be an engineered distration to what we all ought to be looking at. This claim isn’t a flight of fancy, it’s fact.

It appears that the McCanns are considering turning to psychics in the search for Madeleine. The Portuguese police have apparently checked 150 statements made by psychics.
I’m surprised the McCanns are considering such a step. If they are the devout Catholics they are reported to be, surely consulting a psychic contradicts that religion? Doesn’t the Catholic Church view the activities of psychics as linked to the occult?
I’m also surprised that the Portuguese police see fit to check the statements of psychics but not those of people who have claimed to have seen Madeleine in the real world, not in a vision of some sort.
I have no belief in the “abilities” of psychics at all. At best they are well meaning but misguided and at worst deliberately fraudulent with the intent to obtain money from desperate, possibly weak minded, people.
This all smacks of desperation; understandable on the part of the McCanns, but not the police. If they had carried out a professional and thorough scene examination at the beginning, there would be no need for crystal balls and tarot cards. What next? Russell Grant flying out to Praia da Luz?

CLEVELAND — Cleveland police said that two children were found drowned in a bathtub.
Police said the 2-year-old and 4-year-old girls were found in an apartment complex at 7700 Woodland Avenue on Monday morning.
The children’s mother, 22-year-old Amber Hill, has been arrested on suspicion of homicide. Hill said she didn’t have to worry about it anymore and the kids were at peace.
Also Britney Spears has lost custody of her kids. Well…it is about time!!

Besides… you can’t libel a dead person. And to Libel a living person it has to contain their real name. Gerry Hitler isn’t anyone. It’s not an offence to draw a moustache on a picture. Or write a name on it. I’m not saying Gerry McCann is Hitler. He’s dead anyway so couldn’t be if he tried. (That’s his next trick?)
I didn’t even make the picture. Even if you think I’m making the correlation, it’s not illegal. If you wish to make that assersion that’s fine. You are then the liable one.

Given these secrecy laws in Portugal, there must be some measures for dealing with police who break those laws. Whatever anybody thinks about the innocence or otherwise of the parents, the actions of some members of the Portuguese police (I dare say it is not all of them) have been terrible.

Good points, A Person. Obvious ones, to you & me, if not the Portuguese police. Any British police force that ignored a reasonable lead, let alone up to 250, would be hung out to dry. Quite rightly too.
Apparently, the information about the maid was passed to the police after being sent to the Prince of Wales’ website. Why him? Why not the Portuguese police, or the Leicestershire police, on the person’s local police? Why not the McCanns’ website? Will the Portuguese police now name His Royal Highness Prince Charles Philip Arthur George, Prince of Wales, KG, KT, GCB, AK, QSO, PC, ADC, Earl of Chester, Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland as an aguido? Wouldn’t surprise me.
As for the steps, I’m wondering what benefit the Portuguese police hope to gain by making public this theory? There won’t be any evidence there to support it. Even if they’re guilty, the McCanns are hardly likely to suddenly confess and would certainly avoid mentioning it phone calls, emails etc.
If this was on the TV I’d be wetting myself with laughter.

I was shocked to here that 250 tips were ignored, what right have they to ignore these.
One of those may have been Madeliene! they may have been able to have ended this long ago.
Surely if something is reported to the police it has to be looked into surely?
They cant pick and choose what to investigate and what to ignore thats not doing thier job obviously some reports are so obvious that its not going to lead anywhere but some are not they should check these out.
This last theory is showing that the portuguese can now do autopsies without a body, they have found the cause of death the murder weapon and the motive all without doing a stroke of work.
I was just wondering why the McCanns being doctors would cover up a accident leading to Madeliene falling down steps in a holiday complex?
If they were the cold hearted evil murdering people the portuguese police make out to be then surely they would be looking for compensation.
I dont think the maid done it either a disgruntled maid because she lost her job wouldnt steal a child, she would attack the complex itself not a customer. And if she had of taken Madeliene then the reward would have been too much to resist.

Star, I too read the latest theory from the Portuguese (Keystone) cops. More twists than Chubby Checker. Are they now saying that Madeleine was drugged to stop her waking up, but was overdosed, still managed to wake up, get out of bed, open the door, get through a child safety gate & then fall? I know they have to explore the various possibilities but I’d have more respect for them if they came up with something feasible. Instead their theories seem to get more fanciful by the day. Maybe I should ring them up & suggest that Madeleine was abducted by three -eyed green aliens from the planet Zog . . .mind you they’ve ignored some 250 tip offs etc already so they might not take me seriously. On the other hand, they might just leak it to the papers!! If anything makes me more inclined to think the McCanns are innocent in Madeleine’s disappearance, it’s the sheer tripe put out by the police.
Maybe the maid drugged Madeleine & dropped her whilst carrying her down the steps. Is there a butler? Cos everyone knows the butler did it!

I also found this a bit odd…
Mr. and Mrs. McCann hope to be allowed to speak publicly for the first time since being made official suspects in her disappearance on September 7. The McCanns’ lawyers are expected to meet their counterparts in Lisbon this week to discuss how the couple can speak out without breaking the strict Portuguese law of judicial secrecy.
A source close to the family said: “They want to put their side of the story but do not want to antagonise the Portuguese police despite everything that has happened.”
They want to put their side of the story out there? They had since May. And i thought we heard their side of the stoy numerous times, only thing is…it keeps changing. And once again, it is a source close to the family?
So currently they are working on Madeleine fell down some stairs and hit her head and died and her parents freaked out…..OR an maid that use to work there took her(this would be easier to check i guess, find the maid and check it out…would they not of checked all employees and anyone with a grudge already? This story has way too many twists and turns…

What nonsense. It should be perfectly obvious by now that the PJ haven’t a clue what they are doing. I was quite willing to give them the benefit of the doubt a couple of months ago … but not now. They are hopeless, stupid … and even if they did eventually turn out to be right … it wouldn’t be due to their expertise or diligence. It would just be weird ‘luck’ … for them, if not the poor accused. And I don’t think many of us want to get some sort of dodgy resolution, due to luck.
One idiotic suggestion after another. Furnaces, freezers, fridges, a body 25 days into decomposition in the boot of a car, trips over the border to Spain, barking dogs, people accompanying them but yet not noticing they are disposing of an odiferous body. Come on!!

It emerged as a source close to the McCanns said police were investigating claims that a disgruntled ex-employee from the Ocean Club, where the family was staying, may have been involved in Madeleine’s abduct.
Funny how anything is said…a Mccann friend or family member has something to say…
