Madeleine McCann: Watching The Parents
MORE no news on the Madeleine McCann case.
It is now a week since the three-year-old girl was snatched from a Portugal holiday resort.
The story has been distressing to watch on our TV screens. What it must like for the parents of Madeleine only a few can know.
BLAME
But their misery is far from complete. With no news of Madeleine, and the Portuguese police having no need to indulge the British tabloids with speculation and theory, Madeleine’s parents are the central characters.
And today’s front-page news, as reported by the caring Mirror, is: “THEY KNOW LEAVING KIDS WAS WRONG.”
Does the Mirror mean to say that Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry, now think they did the wrong thing in nipping out for a bite to eat and leaving the children in the apartment on what they thought was a secure resort?
Does the Mirror mean that the McCanns know that popping back regularly to look at their children and checking on their well being was less than perfect?
Does the Mirror mean that the McCanns realise they should not have left their children alone, just like it is wrong to leave a child in a hotel under the auspices of a baby monitoring service, to leave a child in the car while mum goes to pay for petrol, to talk to a neighbour over a garden fence while the children are indoors?
Of course this is not the Mirror’s view. Oh, no. This is Madeleine’s grandmother, Susan Healy, saying: “They know this was a mistake. But it wasn’t child neglect, it wasn’t not caring for your children.”
That she feels the need to say this is wrong. That the Mirror can lead with Madeleine’s grief-worn parents is pathetic and misguided. That the paper can talk of “people are asking why they didn’t make use of the crèche” at the resort or take the children out to dinner with them is wrong.
But the Mirror has news to write. And the police aren’t playing the game.
THEORIES
So the Mirror produces: “THE 6 THEORIES.”
Only six! Why this cautious approach? But it is all the Mirror has. And readers hear of the “PAEDOPHILE GANG”, the “LONE PAEDOPHILE”, the “JEALOUS MOTHER”, Madeleine wandering off and “DROWNED”, the “OPPORTUNIST PAEDOPHILE”, the “CHILDLESS COUPLE”.
But the Sun has more. It has 130 more. As the front-page headline screams: “MADDIE COPS HUNT 130 BRIT PAEDOS.”
The paper says “at least” 130 British paedophiles “might” have taken Madeleine McCann.
In “ALGARVE IS ‘HAVEN’ FOR PERVS”, readers learn that Portugal is a “magnet for sun-seeking perverts from Britain and the rest of Europe”.
Who knew that perverts get off on watching children at the beach?
Us And Them
But help is on its way. The Sun lists the British coppers who will go out there and see to it that justice is done. We, says the paper, are the only country with a sex offenders’ register.
All convicted perverts must inform the police of their desire to go abroad. At least 130 have. And the police are looking for them.
But – and whisper this – might it be that convicted sexual deviants don’t all tell the police what they plan to do? They are not monitored while overseas. And might it be that not all sexual predators are caught and make it to the list?
Among the policemans’ names is Detective Superintendent Graham Hill, attached to theChild Exploitation and Protection Centre. Hill is on the case. He has flown to Portugal.
Hill worked on the case of Milly Dowler. She was snatched from near Walton railway station, Surrey, in 2002. Her body was found six months later. Her killer or killers have never been caught.
Perhaps Hill’s experiences can help. Perhaps he’ll have more luck. Perhaps not.
Meanwhile, a family is distraught, and bearing up incredibly well under the strain and the merciless gaze of the newspapers…

(is this paper reliable? )
Traces of Madeleine McCann’s body were found on a Portuguese beach weeks after she was reported missing, during tests by a former detective renowned for locating abducted children.
**they think she may have been or still is buried at the beach? I have always wondered why Kate would take the twins to that creche and then go and sit staring at the ocean.
I also see how gramma has stated that the “abductor” drugged Madeleine(if her body is ever found, and drugs are found, that would be a good cover up…no?) and all this time she may have been or still is buried in the beach?

Ignore them and they go away. Watching the parents is the thread. We’re doing just that regardless of the very low level pridictable trolls that we see here come to distract things- If “troll” has anything to actually say?
Not even my teenage neighbours are that silly.
Shame really when someone’s supposedly an adult
Justify myself? to whom?
Yawn. Breakfast awaits

Madeleine would need a keen sense of danger with parents like those two , I mean absent parents and left in sole charge of her two younger siblings in a strange country in a strange apartment at night would take some prescence of mind….. I wouldnt like that task and I m 43….

To: A person
This was in no way a slur on you my dear
And I know you have six children - I always read your posts.
It was a REPLY agreeing with you re the cretin, Andrew and his alter ego - Ironside.
Andrew has bad mouthed manyu posters on this site over the past few months. Thinks he’s a wit, when really he is is all mouth and no substance.
Know what they say don’t you - empty vessels make the loudest noise! Not only is he the biggest bore, but the dimmest light. Looks like I shall be winning the tote again on Monday. Counting the seconds until one of them fire back….3….2…1.. ,,,(.\_/.),,,

Star, glad to see it’s not just me who has problems with the spam protection. I was beginning to think I’d forgotten my basic sums.
I’d not heard of that sighting you mention. I doubt the police have checked it out, they seem set on the idea that the McCanns killed Madeleine. I wouldn’t be surprised if the McCanns haven’t been told about the sighting.
Let’s hope the change in personnel investigating this case makes a difference. Either to find out where Madeleine was taken to or to come up with some firm evidence that the McCanns killed her.

So what’s all the fuss with this North African Country? Life is cheap enough in most of Africa without having to go to the lengths of posessing an obviously European child which happens to also be the Worlds most wanted person too. Madeleine McCann even beats Bin Laden on that score. Yeah, nobody’s found him either! Maybe Bin Laden kidnapped her, we know just how dangerous he is after all. An old man with barely functioning kidneys. Even THAT’S more believable than any of this McCann “sighting”
It’s looking like Nelson Mandela did it now, it’s near his “Manor” and hey the Americans said he’s “The worlds most dangerous terrorist” at one time! Crazy people. (Don’t encourage them Andrew) Maybe it was Winnie and her “Football Team” all along.
I wonder if Gerry & co are going to use their money to buy a load of AK47’s and start a cult Army comprised of all their fans? I would.
Conventional War might be their only way out of this.
It’s a gamble worth taking. Could win their own small country too if they used their brains a bit more. Imagine that, the McCanns having their own dictatorship (what do you mean IMAGINE??) Only this time with their own currency, laws and army. That’s definately the line I would be following.
“30-year-old Moroccan woman, who lives in Malaga, Spain”
There seem to be a lot of Cosmopolitan North Africans these days. I bet she doesn’t even own a spear! a TAXI? Internal combustion?? Wheels??
It’s worth checking it out yeah. I would bring back a couple of tons of Hashish with me just to make it all worthwhile. Oh yeah, and the AK’s.
Spears are SO last century and it sounds racist. (Yeah judging someone by their weapons posessing capability is just so wrong)
“The upheaval in the investigation came as private detectives working for the McCanns were attempting to trace a new witness after a sighting in Morocco”
Breaking Portugese Law by having a private investigation?
“Mark of Madeleine” may be Xmas’ best selling perfume. It smells like POISON but not quite as sweet.

taken from this article…http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article2604032.ece
The upheaval in the investigation came as private detectives working for the McCanns were attempting to trace a new witness after a sighting in Morocco. According to Spanish police sources, a 30-year-old Moroccan woman, who lives in Malaga, Spain, reported seeing a girl who had the “mark of Madeleine”, referring to her distinctive right eye, where the pupil merges with the blue-green iris.
The woman was in the village of Fnidk on the north coast of Morocco when she saw a 50-year-old woman with the girl getting into a taxi. She tried to join them – sharing cabs is common in Morocco – but the woman refused to let her. She later discovered the taxi had taken them to the village of Housima. She described the girl as wearing an orange blouse with a dummy in her mouth.
Was not aware of a NEW sighting….with so many sightings in Morocco, IMO it would be a good idea to check it out. I mean we can only hope and pray that one of these is accurate and it is Madeleine. I hate to admit, i’m not sure this poor child will ever be found.
October 7th, 2007 at 12:11 am
last i checked 1+8=9…but the page seems to have a problem with that…
powder monkey….That is what bothers me about this case….The Mccanns say Madeleine was abducted, we all know in this day and age, it does happen, there are sick people out there who prey on children.
It is a parent’s responsibililty to protect their children and keep them safe. IMO the Mccanns didnt do this, they left their children night after night to have a good time. Gerry even says he believes the abductor was in the room with him, BUT he didnt check? He makes a comment that Madeleine was not in the bed, he figured she was in the parents room, BUT he didnt check? WHY NOT?
I find the abduction story hard to believe, if all these parents were checking the children, coming and going from the apartment to the Tapas place, how was anyone able to get in there and get out with a child and not be seen?
I dont believe the friend that saw the man with a child, i believe this is just another made up bit of info. Too many inconsistencies here.

Star, that’s what I thought, as well. Gerry McCann had checked at 21.05 when he felt there was someone in there (as he later said) and spent time talking to Jeremy Wilkins. This was when Jane Tanner says she saw a man carrying a bundle. I assume that Gerry McCann returned to the Tapas restaurant which is where Kate McCann ran to after finding Madeleine missing. They reportedly took it in turns to check so Gerry wouldn’t have been with Kate at 10.oo when she did her check.
Matthew Oldfield says he checked at 21.30 and went inside the apartment(he originally said 21.00 but that he didn’t go inside). By this time, Gerry would have been back at the restaurant - he spoke to Wilkins for approx 15 minutes so would have been back about 21.20 - 21.25. Still makes me wonder why Oldfield carried out a check so soon after Gerry got back from his check. If he did do a check at 21.30 (he says he can’t be sure if Madeleine was there - some check!), then that leaves only 30 minutes for Madeleine to be abducted. Either between Oldfield’s & Kate’s checks, or between Gerry’s & Oldfield’s check - if Gerry is correct when he says he thought someone was in the apartment. Still doesn’t explain why he didn’t search the apartment but went back to the restaurant.
Gerry McCann saw Wilkins as he was returning to the restaurant. Therefore, if there was someone in the apartment, either Wilkins or Oldfield would have seen him leaving with Madeleine, yet neither support Tanner’s sighting. Otherwise, this man waited in the apartment for Oldfield to do his check (and wasn’t discovered despite Oldfield claiming to have gone inside) or Madeleine was abducted after Oldfield’s check. If someone was waiting outside the apartment with the intention of abducting Madeleine or even any child, they would have seen Wilkins, Gerry McCann, Oldfield & Tanner all in the space of some 15 minutes and all in the one fairly small area. Surely that would have made them give up & try elsewhere? Assuming one believes the abduction claim, that is.
This time line :
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/11/wmaddy311.xml
has Gerry McCann inviting the Ocean Club’s aerobics teacher, Najova Chekaya to join them, at 21.30. She says that no-one left or returned to the table in the next half hour, contradicting Oldfield. If so, where was Kate McCann? If no-one left, then she can’t have been at the table at 21.30. So where was she if not at the table and, according to her, not at the apartment until 22.00?
I’m tempted to believe Miss Chekaya as she has no reason to lie, that I know of.
Andrew, seeing as I’m a bit of a Luddite, i guess I don’t have to do anything to my internet page thingy?
Once again, I’ve put a long post on. Maybe I should change my name to waffle monkey!
October 6th, 2007 at 9:31 pm
The header frame on the top of the page is wrong. “do not adjust your sets”
October 6th, 2007 at 9:28 pm
powder monkey…I was confused when i read this version. All along i had thought that it was Kate’s turn to check, she went to the room, Madeleine was gone, she ran back to the table(leaving the twins) and we have heard she either screamed, they have taken her or Madeleine is gone. I thought that was how Gerry learned that Madeleine was missing.
I only have part of the last number here too…and the bit about abuse?
October 6th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
I seem to have almost lost the left hand side of the screen. I can only just about see the last digit of each post number. Is it something Anorak has done or me? I’m sure I’ve not changed any settings & my internet is set to show 100% of the screen. Help!

Warfare is the Way of deception.
SUN-TZU: THE PRINCIPLES OF WARFARE
“THE ART OF WAR”
Chapter Three: (Planning Attacks)
Therefore, if able, appear unable,
if active, appear not active,
if near, appear far,
if far, appear near.
If they have advantage, entice them;
if they are confused, take them,
if they are substantial, prepare for them,
if they are strong, avoid them,
if they are angry, disturb them,
if they are humble, make them haughty,
if they are relaxed, toil them,
if they are united, separate them.
Think McCann’s.

A bit long winded there. Sorry.

I don’t know who demon is nor can I understand why anyone would want to create another persona on here. If anyone disagrees with any of the points or theories I’ve posted, then I doubt that my pretending to be someone who supports me will make anyone think “Oh, somebody else thinks that so he must be right.” If I disagree with anything anyone else posts that I’m big enough to say so under the one persona. I haven’t got the imagination to think up another name anyway - powder monkey is a nickname I was given at work - well, one of them, the others are probably too rude to use
I suppose I shoudn’t have responded to the personal insults from demon as it doesn’t make me look good either. I did it with eatmyshorts some time ago, but sometimes it makes me feel better. Maybe that little demon has been exorcised now.
Andrew, I’m feeling a bit slow now, as I didn’t realise it was you who had demolished demon whilst posing as Anonymous. Doh! It was early morning & I’d only had one cuppa. I need 3 or 4 to get going properly.
I have no problem with anyone else on this forum, after all I don’t know any of you. Whatever someone posts, I’ll read it and if I think I need calrification I’ll ask for it (as with Anonymous) or if I think there’s something factually wrong I’ll try & correct it (as with eatmyshorts). I’ll also try to remember to thank those who provide info, such as links (Alicia & Star), for example. Even though Andrew is more convinced of the McCann’s guilt than I am, I think his posts are good, thought provoking & I hope to stay on friendly terms with him, and indeed, other posters.
Back to the main reasons for this forum, and a timely reminder from Star. I’ve read today, as others may have, that the Portuguese police considered charging Kate McCann with child abandonment. I was surprised that they considered charging only her. Surely Gerry McCann would be equally guilty? I cannot understand why she would have to bear the burden, is it because she is the mother, because that seems unfair.
If she had been charged (and may still be I suppose), I wonder what sentence the court would have imposed in the event of a conviction. A custodial sentence would seem harsh on her as being guilty of child abandonment doesn’t make her guilty of murder, and it would be harsh on the twins, depriving them of a mother at a time when they need her most. If the court thought that she might abandon them too, why would the court not think Gerry McCann would also? In which case, make a court order for the children to be placed into care. I’m assuming, of course, that Portuguese law is very similar to ours.
Star, I hadn’t realised the different versions to how Gerry McCann realised Madeleine was missing. is this yet another inconsistency in the McCanns’ stories and have the friends made any statement that verifies one version or the other?

How did my name come into Demons post i havnt even posted for afew days!!!
Anyway Demon dear just for your records as they are so wrong.
1. I am not employed.
2. I have never been fired or gave anyone course to fire me
3. I am a bloody female
If you was employed by me you would have been fired months ago too as attention to detail is important and you havnt done your homework before posting.
10 lines for you for being a naughty boy or girl.
Read back over the posts and you will see in alot of them i even state i have 6 children and dont work and that i am female.
October 6th, 2007 at 4:20 pm
McCann’s, save it for the Judge. He loves your contradiction and inconsistency. Especially when faced with other logical factual evidence to disprove you.
October 6th, 2007 at 4:16 pm
Nope, I’m not Demon… I wouldnt use words like cretin but support the freedom of others to do so. Glad Star has gotten the posts back to Madeleine at least…
October 6th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Madeleine is “pretty,” Kate said. ” … She’s very sociable, very engaging. She’s bright and funny. She does have a sense of danger there.” “Mm-hmm,” Gerry agreed.
“Even though she’s very young,” Kate continued. “She does have a sense of danger.”
“We’re clearly biased,” Gerry admitted, “but Madeleine is as close to the perfect child as you could get, you know, for someone who is so young, less than four when she was taken. She really is amazing. Nothing like this has ever happened — and I mean, going with anyone she didn’t know, for example.”
The McCanns say they had left Madeleine and her younger, twin siblings asleep in the rented villa while they had dinner nearby. Despite an extensive search and international publicity effort led by Kate and Gerry, no confirmed trace Madeleine has turned up.
What, Schindler asked, was the first thing that crossed their minds when they came back to the room from dinner and realized that Madeleine wasn’t there?
“I knew straight away she’d been taken,” Kate replied.
“At the first moment?” Schindler asked.
“Well,” Kate responded, “put it this way: I mean, she hadn’t walked out of the apartment.”
“When I got there,” Gerry said, “and Kate told me, and when I looked at the scene as well, I had absolutely no doubt. But, you know, our immediate reaction was to double and triple check, and we did do that, both in the apartment and in the vicinity. And then we said, ‘Call the police.’ And one of our friends alerted both the resort manager and the police.”
**have they ever said WHY Kate knew right away….i mean what the condition of the room was(besides the shutter) because she knew she did not walk out of the room.
Also Gerry said when he got there and Kate told him? I thought Kate went running back to the bar and yelled it out?
I still think they should of had all involved write out their take on that night and compare notes, since noone can seem to agree on much here.
October 6th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
Good Morning Vietnam!!
It’s “Detective time”
If you note the trailing full stops…. in conjunction with the hyphens - noting the writing style (abusive and negative) also taking into consideration the previous intellectual disasters, and the bizarre allegation of alter egos, I would say there is a fair likelyhood that Demon is anamacara. (Yawn)
“Andrew - yes , he would be sacked if he worked for me too when you look at the amount of time on here”
Luckily I don’t have to work. Been there, done that. (made plenty, gave up)Work for you? It’s much more likely that you would be working for me. Let’s get the pecking order correct here. Unfortunately you don’t visibly have any of the qualities or skills required, so luckily for me that’s a non starter.
“Demon, thank you…the others, well I went and got myself a life after almost falling asleep reading Andrews rather long post…..dont have too much against Powder Monkey but Andrew - yes ”
I think that’s self explanatory. Why do you feel the need to attempt attacking me? Some may say that I have valid points to make and it irritates you for some reason. I wonder what that reason could be.
I don’t need to create alter egos to suport my posts, they exist in reality.
I don’t need to create alter egos to pull someone apart either. I do that myself.
Oh, and thanks for Socrates and Mahatma Gandhi for backing me up.
(whoever THEY are)
Thanks powder monkey, I’m glad you liked the way I ripped “Demon” apart. I’m just sorry my name didn’t show due to being logged in at the time.
(Genuine Anorak technical problem) i’m not the other “anonymous” with the castle craig, info just to clarify for everyone.
Sorry I wasn’t online the moment you wrote today Powder Monkey, was busy sleeping! I was up late lastnight getting drunk, and being amused in here.
(& some vicious intellectually inept naughty poster needed telling off) Perhaps we should stop being friendly to eachother because one person doesn’t like it.
It’s a shame when people have nothing to contribute other than issue personal attacks and timewaste. Sabotaging what is well meant interest in Justice & Law. Anyone with a slight of intellect can see it for what it really is.
Who’s Madeleine?
October 6th, 2007 at 11:04 am
Demon, thank you…the others, well I went and got myself a life after almost falling asleep reading Andrews rather long post…..dont have too much against Powder Monkey but Andrew - yes , he would be sacked if he worked for me too when you look at the amount of time on here. Anyway, ho hum. No further forward with the parents today, and no, I dont think they are entirely innocent….
October 6th, 2007 at 8:44 am
Andrew, sorry mate. You’ve just been timed out!
October 6th, 2007 at 8:27 am
Andrew, come on lad! According to demon you only have a few minutes in which to post! Wakey, wakey!! Although when when we both posted yesterday we were 2 hrs 48 minutes apart. Oops, thats blown another demon theory.
By the way, demon, I don’t know if I like your satire or not. I’m still waiting for it.
October 6th, 2007 at 8:21 am
Good post, Anonymous. You took demon’s stupid comments apart brilliantly and showed him/her/it up as the moron he/she/it is.

(\_/)demon Hello. Sit down, you’re in for a disappointment.
I’m not a surveyor and never said I was. I just never spoke when that was said. I am speaking now. That false assersion was made by a different poster.
(\_/)demon: “just fly over andrew and powdermonkey they are the same cretins.one likes to think he’s a cop -haaaaaaaaaaaa and his alter ego is a retired part time surveyor of some sort . Just check back the posts”
OK then, let’s do just that!
The false assersion was made by (1763)
John O is the surveyor,(1696)
Powder Monkey is a scenes of crime officer (1713)
I mentioned being an ex-criminal with firearms offences
(And drugs, don’t forget those!) (1729)
If any of that’s true or not nobody but us knows.
We don’t call people cretins. You have exposed yourself fully as a total oxymoron.
(\_/)demon: “Andrew is the biggest pillock on the web and attacks anyone who disagrees with his warped, onetrack mind. powdermonky always comes back with what he thinks is sooooo clever.NOT. Same person, same cretin”
Sorry. Anorak can probably distiguish between I.P Addresses and confirm we are not the same person. Calling people “Cretins” and “Pillock” doesn’t really get you anywhere apart from you looking silly. Why not log in here using your usual name and repeat yourself? That’s right you won’t. Especially as I’ve just rationally explained the situation.
“I have won the office tote a few times betting on which cretin will come out of the woodwork first - just try it. hilarious”
Yeah how funny.. making yourself look silly
“gobby git andrew - if you dont like my satire too fakkinn bad.Place your bets…”
Yeah. You lose. I put any money on it you like.

Today i saw the movie Amber’s Story (based on the true story of a girl abducted and murdered here in the states, also the Amber Alert here is named for her)
Anyways, i was surprised to see a part in the movie where the mother was holding a stuffed animal similar to cuddle cat when speaking to the media.
