Madeleine McCann: Have You Seen David Beckham?
ITV lunchtime news has just broadcast David Beckham’s appeal on Spanish TV for news of Madeleine McCann.
Why?
ITV broadcasts in the UK, and the media over here is full of pictures of Madeleine McCann, who went missing in, er, Portugal.
And, of course, we have seen pictures of Madeleine’s parents. Lots of them. Look, says ITV, get a load of the pain”etched” on the parents’ faces.
ITV and its team care. They are on the scene. The brodcaster operates cameras and equipment and could use investigative know how to help in the search for Madeleine. But - hold on - look at the parents. Look at their faces. “All this week, we’ve seen those parents looking…well, just dreadful,” says ITV anchor Katie Derham.
Not all week, Katie. Haven’t we just seen David Beckham? Made a nice change. And did everyone see his hair?..

Yeah - great message that, Savannah.
But I bet you don’t love the thousands of children living in “3rd World” countries who are dying every day because they can’t eat or have something like HIV - simply because the media don’t ram it down your throat.
Sure, it is a bad thing this little girl went missing. But with the Madeleine “fund”, why not save a million lives and put it towards food for those who cannot afford.
The UK and it’s “publications” are a joke.
Why doesn’t Beckham come out with a plea to stop world poverty? Of course, this is far more important…
Some of the “grieving” comments on this topic make me want to be sick.

And surly her mum and dad are missing her and want her back safe,sound and unharmed so if the person who took this buitiful and inicent girl gets a chance to read this then plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz give her back wot she done to u and think how scared and uncomfortable she feels.And also she had to spend her 4th birth day with out her family and not forgeting that her brother and sister are missing her very much as well.

My feelings exactly, terrible as it might seem this case is just one in a million, I dont care any more or less about this poor child than one some poor child thats been abducted in say South Africa. No one cries for them, there plight is not on international TV every day. Is their life not worth as much to all you who shed so many tears for this one child!

Talk about over exageration, Ross.. A million cases a year?!! We’d all be giving birth and having them snatched immediately to fulfil that many abduction cases.. I think you need to study the crime figures again. Yes, there are other abductions and no, they do not get this attention. Why? Because generally the children are older, this child is little more than a baby. a lot of other children that are ‘missing’ are pissed off teenagers who run away from home to live with their boyfriends.. hardly the same as a tiny three year old girl being snatched from her bed.
The pictures of the family are purely to keep Madeleine’s story in the media; the more media awareness there is, the more chance someone will recognise her and get her back to her parents.
God Bless you Madeleine, may He keep you safe and protect you from harm. You will soon be home, little one.

I hope they find that poor, frightened little girl, and that she gets home unscathed and able to get over her experience eventually. But I can’t help thinking that if this had been the child of some single mother, from a poor housing estate, who’d left her kids while she spent half an hour drinking in the local pub, there would have been very little support for her. In fact she probably would have received a prison sentence and had her remaining children taken into care. But they’re doctors, so they get treated with kid gloves! Aside from child snatchers, what if there had been a fire, or one of the children had woken up because they were sick?! I don’t think the the parents are involved in any other way though. It was just astounding stupidity on their part, and I’m sure they are aware of that. I have little sympathy for them, but I can’t stop thinking about that poor child. Somebody find her please!!!

yes i can blame the parents i have my own right to my own personal opionion and in my eyes they have done wrong.
i know they will live with this for the rest of their lives, especially if maddie doesnt come back, but it doesnt change the fact they were left in that situation in the first place!!!

i’ve just been reading all of your comments.
maddie’s parents were wrong in leaving three children under the age of four in a room on their own while they went out to eat. im sure they know that now and will live with that for the rest of their lives. i personally wouldnt leave any child of mine in a room on their own especially in another country while i went out. but different people have different ways of bringing up their children.
you can tell that maddie and the twins are not neglected or abused in any way. this probably sounds horrible as i do think they have been punished enough, especially if maddie doesnt come back alive or at all, but i do feel that if this was in england that they should be charged with leaving the three children.
parents are there to protect their children and her parents have failed and will blame themselves forever. i have already said that i wouldnt leave my child alone but you never know until you are in that situation yourself. she may have simply walked off, though i dont think this is possible. its more possible that sickos did take her, did what they did and got rid of her, or they have sold her on.
i dont think we will ever get our maddie back. the police have been too slow in stopping cars and vans and maddie could be miles away now, living another life. all we can do is hope and pray that she is safely returned or have a very peacful life if she is still alive with her new parents if she has any.
the parents shouldn’t be judged for what they did, they have their own guilt to live with and as i have said before, no one knows what they would actually do if they were in the same situaion for example women always say that if they got raped they would fend off their attacker, but most of my friends who have been raped have said you just freeze and think that its not happening to you.

I still think there’s more to this story than we’re being told. No-one will say it, because they’re rich, white people, but most kids are killed or injured by someone they know.
Think about that.
I think that poor kid had an accident, broke her neck or smething, and the parents realised that questions would be asked and charges would be pressed due to their CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE.. 2 hours before they called the Police, time to get their stories straight and dispose of her.
