Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.

After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

i think if the mcann family are to return home,i dont think that the police will let them out of there sight!and i wouldnt want to return home,i would want to stay as close as i could to where my daughter had been taken,in hope that she would be returned!id be too scared to come home incase of missing her,its not likly that maddie would turn up at home!!dont think that any of kates patiants will be quick to make an appointment back at home.will the parents get into trouble when they get back for leaving the children?

A British couple named as suspects in the disappearance of their four-year-old daughter in Portugal are to return home on Sunday, a family spokeswoman said.
Kate and Gerry McCann, who have strenuously professed their innocence since police declared them formal suspects in their daughter Madeleine’s disappearance, are leaving “with the full knowledge of the Portuguese authorities and police,” family spokeswoman Justine McGuinness said.
She said the couple planned to catch a 9.30 a.m. (0830 GMT) flight from southern Portugal to England. She did not provide further details. Police on Friday named the McCanns as formal suspects in the May 3 disappearance following hours of grueling interrogation. Several friends and spokespeople for the McCanns had said throughout the day Saturday that they wanted to get out of Portugal but did not want to appear to be running scared.
** ok this makes no sense…..first if they were made formal suspects in Maddie’s disappearance why are they ALLOWED to leave? And since the police seem to be on to something, WHY would they Mccanns WANT to leave.
Running scared? I believe that is what they are doing. Someone better watch them, or they might just disappear….

On another board I have just read that the McCanns were give the keys to the church - to enable them to go there whenever they wished - The church would be the last place anyone would check forensics - but they have spent a lot of time in the church - havent they? I wonder, did they go to the church before madeleine went missing? or afterwards only. if they were in Portugal for a weekend before she went missing then surely such devote catholics would have gone there as a family at least on the Sunday. To have gone to the extremes of having an audience with the Pope, they would not have missed a Sunday service with their family would they?. So, maybe Madeleines dna will be in the church anyway from their family visit to the service.

I wonder if there was blood in the Mccanns rental car? and did the dogs get a hit off mom’s clothes and in the cupboard? Just wonder how much of this is true. I still believe they have something on the Mccanns, dont think they of questioned them this long, made them suspects and offered mom a deal otherwise. Maybe waiting for Kate to crack…which IMO wont be long, she really looks likes like she is ready to just fall over…
Still cant believe Gerry takes the time to write in the blog….his wife is falling apart, they have accused her of harming Madeleine and he can sit down and type?

yes gaven… maybe that was what happened!but we could all be wrong couldnt we,i mean kate could actually be inocent,and none of the family had anything to do with madeleine dissapearence!!but we will never know untill the TRUTH does come alight.hold on tight and weight untill the truth unfolds…..i heard today that the police have not charged kate or gerry for anything!what was it that the police had on the mcanns?

Slow down everybody, it is staring you all in the face, the whole episode is premeditated, mummy has affair, gets prego has baby, daddy says it s not mine, bickering and arguing carries on for years, daddy claims he can’t have babies, it’s a biological thing, mummy takes fertility drugs has twins, daddy still not convinced, mummy in a pickle with twins and daddy ready to divorce, mummy plans hols to Portugal, meets wealthy low life and together they conspire to “abduct” Madeleine, however something goes wrong and Madeleine is injured and succumbs from her injuries. Low life wraps Madeliene in blanket and is seen by witness, he then dumps body in mums rental car and disposes of body very close by, rental motor is returned to agency before agreed rental period, daddy rents new motor, same make same colour, too fool police, and yes the Portugues police are not so stupid, they are only taking orders from very high up, Portugues gvernment will not allow this incident to deter tourism and investment from the UK.

and another thing,little madeleine always shouted for her dad in the night when she would cry,never her mom,i have three children and all young,and no affence to dad but my kids always want me for everything!and there dad is great,but still its always mom.so why was it different for madeleine,was there something wrong between mom and madeleine?

omg! i cant believe that this has been going on for ages,i think that if the parents are involved then yes it was kate,because as you all say she always sat quiet in interveiws etc.if my child had been snatched,i would be devestated,there is no way i could control my emotions,my heart would be broken!things just dont add up in this case,things have bugged me,i mean if kate said that she put madeleine to bed with her CUDDLE CAT but then was found up and out of reach of little madeleine,HELLO then why didnt kate give it straight to the police?why did she wash it?oh sorry it had SUN TAN CREAM on it!anything that you thought would help in finding your child,no matter how small,you would be giving to the police in hoping it woul help bring your child home.and kate never screamed for help when she seen that her daughter was not in bed,instead she went running back to the others and said THEY have taken her,who?makes me so angry.

The relations and friends of the McCann’s need to stop accusing the Portuguese police of planting evidence, frame-ups, being incompetent and other border-line racial slurs, contrasted with the spotless innocence of the McCrims.
How ON EARTH do these imbeciles know ?
I have served on a jury and ALL that matters are incontrovertible facts, not speculation, not unsubstantiated claims but solid facts, leading to an inescapable conclusion.
No wonder the McCanns look worried now, the police may finally have some facts which point to them as being complicit in this crime.

It now transpires that Gerry will be named aguido alongside his wife alguida. The biological aspect remains unanswered ! ; but from a psychologically perspective, may help to explain the lack of emotion

Star - we said - ages ago, didnt we? There is something in this report and I really do think that the police have known for ages but just not shown their hand until conclusive dna and specimen evidence has become available. The family of the McCanns have come out in force saying that “they wouldnt harm their children, - they couldnt possibly have been involved” etc.etc. BUT it has only been stated that the accusation rests on the assumption that it was accidental death - why would the family adamently stand up and say that this could not possibly have happened - accidents happen - at no point during the past 24 hours has the word murder been used..

PRAIA DA LUZ, Portugal - The mother of a 4-year-old British girl missing since May was named a suspect and called in for questioning Friday by police along with the child’s father, after traces of blood were found in their rental car.
The girl’s aunt said police suggested Madeleine McCann might have been killed accidentally and offered the mother a plea deal if she confessed.
Kate McCann was questioned for more than four hours in a second straight day of interrogation into the disappearance of Madeleine in southern Portugal.
They offered Kate a plea deal? And again we read that blood was found in their rental car? ok…if she “accidentally” overdosed her, then where is this blood coming from? And where did they keep this child if they rented the car 25 days AFTER she went missing? And where is she NOW? IMO if Kate did it, Gerry and friends knew about it all this time. Are both the parents suspects now? Did anyone hear about the blood or DNA in the cupboard? And some organs(like the bladder) will let go shortly after death, so there would be some fluids, the longer a body sits around, the more fluids there will be) If they suspect Kate and Gerry, they need to take the twins from them NOW!!

My following comments may be highly speculative, but theoretically possible. A member of the household has stated that the Police have offered Kate McCann the opportunity to accept a deal: “admit that Madeline’s death was an accident and perhaps you will receive a lighter sentence because of public sympathy”. However, I find this particular claim amazing!
Given the behaviour of the McCann’s’, (the publicity, the condemnations, libel suites and fundraising campaign) suggests two methodical individuals who are able to perform under pressure and therefore, would naturally call into question whether indeed an accidental death occurred and so to offer a deal, seems to me, to be ludicrous.
Perhaps, the latest police tactics are simply a ploy to apply pressure on the McCann’s by placing Kate as the primary suspect as opposed to Gerry, in doing so, hoping that Gerry will finally break!, of the two; he has always appeared to be the dominant personality, whilst Kate often sat blank faced!, only offering her comments in the last few weeks.
I remember on May the 4th, watching the McCann family in Scotland berating the Portuguese police for their slow response, and one should question the mindset behind it. Normally, in “abduction” cases, the parents often work in unison with the Police. From the outset, the McCann’s sought to highlight failures.
I know some of you will spout, “What a terrible thing to point the finger at the McCann’s”. Personally, for Madeline’s sake, this scenario is a more harmonious explanation of death than being at the hands of an awful paedophile gang! I can’t under the psychology of it all, it’s like people would prefer that Madeline was a victim of a horrible paedophile than the victim of neglect. Perhaps, Gerry didn’t administer the sleeping drug correctly? panicked and carried her way in the dead of night. In doing so, one of their “friends” observed a man with dark hair, beige trousers carrying a child with pink pyjamas, whilst returning from checking on her own child.
Then Kate went to inspect, and all hell broke loose! Who knows.

I am absolutely appalled by the McCann’s behaviour. I don’t unfortunately have any children, but have been on holiday many times with close friends who had a girl of 4 yrs and twins of 6 months when we first visited Spain. We were a party of some 16 - parents, grandparents, all ages from 31 to 70 yrs. We never left them alone for one second, never mind a half hour.The parents bear a colossal responsibility for their quite irresponsible behaviour , if not criminal act. If this was in England they would have been brought before the courts for endangerment and wilful abandonment of children under 13 yrs old. These people are doctors? in whom we trust our lives? Doesn’t bear thinking about. I hope the General Medical Council will strike them off, as they are not only unfit to be doctors, but also parents.
I have always thought that Kate McCann had something to do with her daughters’ disappearance - why did Gerry always do the speaking to the media? Perhaps he is complicit and feels he must protect his wife. But, who protected Madeleine?
Sometimes, something as trivial as a child not going to sleep when the mother just wants to party, can trigger an unbelievable act. If Kate McCann is found guilty, her twins should be taken away from her and given to a loving couple who don’t want to spend their evenings on holiday drinking with their friends. They deserve more than that.
Gosh, I am just so angry, and hope I am not judging Kate McCann unnecessarily.
I truly don’t think we will find Madeleine alive - and the McCann’s will be pilloried for their selfishness.

ok…now they are saying that Kate accidentally killed Madeleine? (i knew the parents were in on this from day one) Well if that is the case then Gerry has to know. I mean there is NO way he doesn’t know. And where is she? It looks like they had her in the trunk 20 some days after she died? How gross is that? I mean it is one thing for her to die. But if this is the truth, how sick is it that mom tossed her in the trunk or had her in a cupboard. And what did they do with her body. I said it before and i will say it again…Mom sits and stares at the ocean ALOT….Is that were Maddie is?

but they are doctors,how could they get wrong??you mean that tey could of given her too much,then later when kate went back to the appartment and realized that she was not breathiing and panicked,then got rid of her and then said that she had been kidnapped!it would be arfull if this is what had happened,am sorry but all sorts go through my head in to what may of happened to this poor little girl, i would so love for her to be found alive and then the mcanns would not be guilty of anything other than leaving these poor children alone!!!!!

Indeed. I believe one of them sedated her. I think this is why she was crying out daddy because either mummy was sedating her or daddy was doing the sedating.
If she was sedated it would mean that she was gooing to be ‘easier’ to be kidnapped or possibly died due to the sedation.
Tragic if true.
And if true, yes there will be a public outcry. They will be pilloried.

Sorry - yes I meant in previous incidences when otehr kids have been murdered/disappeared, it has transpired that the families have used the media to almost convince themselves they are innocent and it turns out they are infact the guilty ones.

I have been reading the developments and i haven’t posted anything for a while. I have been interested in the case from a solve-the-crime standpoint and I said all along that there was something funny about the case, not least because 3 previous occassions when family have used the media, it has turned out that they are someway shape or form complicit. Hope that they find maddie though from a human point of view.

HI STAR.. i had heard that when kate mcann was to be brought in for QS she wanted to treated as formal suspect so she could have the same rights as a suspect! ie a lawer and so on!i hadnt heard of there being DNA found in the trunk of there rented car!if little maddies life was at the hands of her parents,there will be so much up roar from the public because everybody has done nothing but support the mcann family,sending in donations,and sending their support!wont go down very well.

Seems odd they would find DNA in the trunk of their rented car. Still have not seen anything about DNA in a cupboard in the apartment.
If poor Maddie did die in the apartment what did they do with her?!?!? That is just terrible.

i wonder if we are reading to much into this. the law in portigal is so different to ours. doesnt she have to be a formal suspect to be questioned. im glad they are finally questioing them. their whole behaviour has been obstructive and contradictury. as for the IVF that doesnt matter a bit does it to this case.

wow…Kate was interview for 11 hours and has to go back today. Gerry will be interviewed later today.
Portuguese detectives suggested to Kate McCann in questioning yesterday that traces of the young girl’s blood had been found in the family’s hire car, a Renault Scenic.
She was met by whistles and jeers as she arrived at the police station after already having been questioned for 11 hours yesterday.
Police are thought to have a list of 22 questions, some described as “difficult”. they want to ask Mrs McCann about her missing daughter, while her husband, Gerry is due to be questioned separately.
In order to ask such questions – such as whether Madeleine died by accident – her status has to be changed to “arguida”, or formal suspect
IMO things dont look GOOD for Kate.
I also like the last statement in the article….
The McCanns had planned to return to the UK this Sunday, but their plans were put on hold after they were contacted by the Portuguese authorities on Monday and called for interview.
Odd they would want to leave when the wheels are starting to turn

Hi Lorraine…Someone posted that Kate was to become a suspect soon - not sure how true that is. Also read about the DNA on Kate’s clothes and in the cupboard at the apartment - not sure how true that is either. It was reported that Kate was interviewed for 11 hours and left the police with her sis in law and a lawyer (why would she need a lawyer if she didnt do anything?) I guess they want to interview Gerry now.
Still waiting for whatever is to happen in 48 hours. Looks like we might hear something soon?!?!?! I hope so. I read that the case will probably be solved, BUT they may never find Madeleine…..That is so sad!!

n.richards…..i know the mccanns said they had trouble gettin pregnant in the beginning. Finally got pregnant with Maddie and then the twins came along.
Dont know if they ever gave the reasons or if donor had to be used?
