Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.
Robert Murat
After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

does anyone think the russian guy is involved?

Sorry ‘duh!’ What are the good points from Kirsty? Highlight them again for me?
‘Moronic moaners’? You object to name calling but do it yourself? Right now, I am defending a couple who are missing a daughter from attacks from people like Kirsty who are full of judgement at the wrong time.
And by the way, unintelligent is spelt as I spelt it - not the way you did. If you are going to call people ‘uninteligent’ make sure you are literate yourself.
By the way, good people support those who are suffering - they don’t kick them when they are down as Kirsty & Co do.

Calling someone wench, or any other name, just goes to show how uninteligent you are,& that you must have some problems in your family life, dont take it out on good people , get some help mate!
Thanks for the entertainment though, il be sure to check back in a while for the next installment of “big steve & his posse of moronic moaners” LMAO!
Thinking of you maddy…would be nice to see your pretty face again *hugs* x

mmmm yes, that’s why I quoted “I am sure the Police and authorities would have already looked into it”. I only added the link and information for folks to read - I thought it was interesting.
May 17th, 2007 at 8:39 am
Hiya
Can we all make a bigger effort to refer to Madeleine as Madeleine not Maddie as her parents never call her that and she doesn’t respond to that.
As for whether the police have checked Murat’s recent travel movements and Malinka’s expedition company - give them some credit! Of course they will have. They are working hard to close in on this case and I believe they will find the evidence needed to arrest Murat.
May 17th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Just to reiterate about my earlier comment regarding Sergey Malinka, as some of you were unable to access the link, he co-runs an expedition service for people wishing to tour islands. If you are unable to access the link, try looking up Sergey Malinka on Google. I know its only a long shot and I am sure the Police and authorities would have already looked into it.

Kirsty - You may think you are great mother but you come across as a judgemental, pious, critical, and unforgiving wench. If anything I pity your poor kids.
You then have the nerve to call Tonya’s comments wasted - what have your comments been like to date?
You have posted the most comments here Kirsty - if you are such a great mom and so paranoid of bad things happening to your kids, why are you sitting on this forum posting so many coments? Why aren’t you sitting next to your kid’s bed with a shotgun waiting for an intruder?
May 17th, 2007 at 6:15 am

May 17th, 2007 at 1:53 am
All, what is Kirsty’s problem? Maybe she doesn’t like me because I can spell. Or because I’m from the US…. sigh….
Please God, let Madeleiene be ok.
May 17th, 2007 at 1:48 am
Wasted?
I have read the and I KNOW you have a daughter!
And I have a niece named Madeleine if you’ read my OTHER WASTED comment last night.
I agree with you, I just think enough is enough, your bitch!ng is not helping.
BTW, maybe I should take back the nice things I said about you. I thought you were human but I guess not, you’re superhuman. So fly to Portugal and solve this crime. And learn to spell. You have a degree, for goodness’ sake!!! But you can’t tell it!
I just wanted to send out some love and caring to other who feel the same way and now you’ve put me in a VERY bad mood.

Kirsty, the parents can be punished if Maddie is found. Otherwise, you couldn’t dole out a worse punishment. If the parents committed suicide because they felt so bad, it would not help the situation nor would it make you and DL feel any better. So please do lay off them. Even good parents make mistakes.
I know Maddie is your main concern, and it heartens me that you and I and others feel so strongly that our thoughts and prayers might make a differerence. I am usually the queen of cynicism (hey, I live in the US), but not in this case. So don’t be mad at me, I feel useless (and suspect you do as well, and it’s frustrating!) and wish we could all do something more, but playing the blame game doesn’t help.
Love to Maddie, wherever you are, praying you are ok.
May 17th, 2007 at 1:14 am
The thisislondon site which har been the best source of info so far seems to be suggesting the idea she wandered off and fell into a trench and covered over in the numerous roadworks in the area as a possibility.
It’ll be interesting how the media and everyonne else will react to the parents if this turns out to be the case.
May 17th, 2007 at 1:09 am
Kirsty, I am glad you love your little girl so much and take such good care of her. But please lay off the parents for a bit. If they committed suicide over it, would you feel any better? Right now it should be about finding Maddie. Hopefully, she will be found alive - and then the parents can be punished, alright? But right now, what purpose would that serve? It would be unnecessarily cruel.
And Kirsty, don’t be mad at me. I am 38, and have not had the luck or joy of having a child, so I know that makes us come at this from different viewpoints. I feel you when you say you are mad FOR Maddie… just don’t project your anger and frustration all on the parents, don’t even good parents sometimes make a mistake? I wish we could join forces to fight evil like superheroes, I think that is what is in your heart.
Simon, where are you tonight?
May 17th, 2007 at 12:48 am
DL … are you me? haha nice 1.. someone else who makes sense , i was feeling lonely
May 17th, 2007 at 12:47 am
sorry about my spazzytyping, key board is kackered XD
May 17th, 2007 at 12:47 am
Kath,
You’ve made my point. I don’t run out for milk at night when the kids are asleep. I’ve never needed milk that bad in my life. Let’s see….. Milk vs. risking my child’s life…. Hmmmm. That’s a toughie. NOT.
Leave 4 children under 8 (and one of them only a few weeks old) alone in a house for even a few minutes? Nope. I guess it IS neurotic to think a fire could break out. How paranoid is that? Oh wait….That’s exactly what DID happen, isn’t it?
I didn’t have help. I didn’t have relatives to watch my back. So don’t even start down that path. Parents put their needs on the back burner for years and sometimes that’s no fun. If you don’t like it, there are alternatives.
I don’t know how the McCanns even enjoyed their food that night. I could not have choked my food down, knowing my child was alone back in that room.
May 17th, 2007 at 12:46 am
DL - lots of the points i agree with, said alot of that myself & KATH- do you realy think that fire story is a go one? if i ran out of milk, id fone sum1 & say, can you pop over ith sum milk, really fancy a coffee but cant leave the kids… & if i was STUPID enough to go to sum1’s house, i wouldnt’get chatting’ coz id be thinkin about how long id been gon the whole time! jesus…

It is a sad truth that if the facts had been slightly changed this would be playing out much dfferently in the media. If a single mother on government assistance had left her two 2 year olds and a 3 year old so that she could spend an evening in the local pub enjoying a few pints (even if she checked on them every half hour) and one of those children had been abducted, you can be assured she would have been crucified by the media. (Justifiably so, IMHO.) And I’ll wager social services would have already swooped in and taken her two youngest children on the basis of neglect and possible child endangerment. Ooh, and can you imagine the headlines and photos if she had lots of tattooes and piercings? I mean, just think of the field day they’re having over the fact that Murat has one glass eye. Glass eye = evil. Poor tattooed single mother going to the pub = evil. Same exact parents except they are attractive upper middle class educated couple = Perfect media victims.
The real victim here is the poor child whose parents were so willing to leave their three VERY young children alone and unsupervised for a minimum of 30 minutes (which to children that young is a dangerous eternity) just so they could have a lousy, stinking dinner out. Sure, they regret it now. (I hope. Maybe they still think it was perfectly reasonable, as many of you still do.) But it is too ^%$& late.
So this is the PERFECT time to point out that they screwed up royally. Maybe if enough of us keep harping on it instead of giving them a pity pass, it will get the message through someone else’s thick head that such behavior is lunacy and no evening out is worth risking your children’s lives. Yes, I feel sorry for the McCanns, but I pity Madeline more. She depended solely on her parents and they failed her miserably. Perhaps it was out of ignorance or stupidity or some cultural norm that needs to change NOW, but let it CHANGE NOW!!!! When will enough be enough?
When I first read of this and saw the aerial of their apartment and the restaurant, I was slack-jawed. Who in their right mind would go out to eat so far away from their kids? They weren’t exactly on the apartment patio, folks. As I’ve said before, if someone offered me a million dollars to leave my child alone in that apartment and go out to eat, I’d have turned them down flat. I would have thought that only someone who was out of their freaking mind or a complete and total idiot or perhaps a crackhead would even consider such a thing. But to hear that two doctors did it boggles the mind. It is beyond comprehension. If this is considered normal by some, then you need to rethink normal. Because the perverts/pedophiles are all to happy to take advantage of your attitude. Just ask Madeline….if the poor child is ever found.

the police were so slow to react in the 1st place, convinced maddy had just wandered off, that madeleine could have been in spain, france, africa, italy before the morning had even broken and the full scale search had started..
as for the psychic info. i never once suggested that this was the line to follow, i was simply offering up what information i knew, i thought that was the whole point of this blog
the point of blaming the parents, and how u wouldnt leave your kids alone.
just a few examples :-
its late ur out of milk, the kids are asleep and the shop is on the corner..
you have friends round for a bbq, the kids have flaked, but u are still in the garden.
there are so many things we do, that we do not realise at the time are near misses. none of us are perfect.
when i was younger i used to babysit for a woman who had 4 children under 8 (one of them a few weeks old)
one day she run out of milk early evening, so had gone round to her neighbours door and asked if she could borrow some. she could see her front door. and was only meant to be a few moments. they got chatting on the door step for 5 mins and suudenly seen smoke billowing from an upstairs window. running back home (5 yrds?) she found that the fire was so severe she couldnt gain enrty back to her house. and 5 days later was burying her 4 kids.
was she to blame? I think not.
there but for the grace of god…………..

i know they don’t have evidence yet but it’s a bit strange how roberts girlfriend still lives with her husband and they are all great friends ( no offence but this is rare), he has a daughter who looks just like mad, and whether he just wanted to help or not he is obviously very interested in the case. i agree that if he is involved maddy would probably have been taken out of the country asap. the ex wife has said very little- and i don’t blame her - but she could probably have a good intuition as to whether he is involved or not
May 16th, 2007 at 11:53 pm
I think it is worth investigating “heavensabove” comment as follows IF this is the same guy, Sergey Malinka, (based in Portugal!!!) then it appears he has access to sea vessels………. http:///www.corlettmaritima.com/indexx.swf
Also my earlier comments I think there is a possibility she could have been taken out of portugal last week just a possibility. Have the police checked Robert Murat’s travel details when he travelled out of Portugal for a few days last week including if he had anyone travelling with him, the possibility of a child similar to his daughter and being treated as his daughter. Could he have taken Madeline with him as his daughter if she is so like his daughter he could have got through the passport check with the child being treated as his own if his daughter is on his passport. It is a possibility. Are we sure that he went directly to England. Surely his travel details should be checked.
The German girl and her husband’s travel details should also be checked. Did the travel out of portugal?
This reminds me of the 11 yr old Robert Dennehy from Middleton in Cork when the killer Wayne O’Donoghue helped in the search, visited Robert’s house and assured Roberts mother that he would be found. He only confessed when Roberts phone was traced and his body was found.
So concerned for Madeline and her parents.

yeah i couldn’t get link either, they must be looking for something to do with the computer but you would think they’d have evidence by now
