Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.

After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

Well it just shows just how the power of prayer works.
They had an audience with the pope and nothing happened.
It also shows how good these so called indepth readers are, you all thow them they are never off the TV telling you what your dog done in his last life etc.
Well if all these powers that you profess to have lets see them?
All these people that have been conning you for all your life now is their chance to put their actions into place.

Going by UK press reports Murats estranged wife has both his daughter, and his daughters passport, back in the UK. Also the high profile sighting in Morrocco has apparently been thoroughly checked out and the witness interviewed at length by UK Police. The various witnesses and suspects mobile phone transmissions are also supposedly being triangulated to give Police and idea of everyones movements. Its the same technique used at Soham, and it pinpointed exactly where Huntleys mobile phone was at the time of the murders, and by implication where he was.
I think this case is a bit different to Soham though as it appears to have been more carefully planned and premeditated, with the culprit perhaps patiently watching the McCann’s for a number of days or more ? It suggests to me a more organised, less impulsive offender/s than Huntley ?

I totally agree with you Eileen and I too, from your posts a few weeks ago, questioned Murat’s travel log. Of course I would imagine everything has been checked and as said before, the police are telling us only what they want us to know. I honestly don’t believe they are as foolish as they are allowing themselves to look - and that includes that child that was spotted in Morocco. Of course all of this has to have been checked. What I don’t understand is how Murat can have his daughter on his passport - the law for at least the last 10 years has been that a child must have their own passport. I also reckon the McCanns have hired a detective - you’d be crazy not to at this point. But they’ve been told not to speak of any “inside” information for fear of giving away too much - not that there seems to be much to give away at the moment. I just keep hoping Madeline is safe but the longer this goes on, the more negative it’s looking. I would love it if I’m wrong of course. The Wayne O’Donoghue case was very disturbing - a neighbour, only a teenager himself and footage of him out searching for the child with everyone else knowing full well what he’d done. Huntley was the very same. Inside the school grounds with Kevin Wells searching for the girls and offering his condolences to him, again knowing full well where they were. This case stinks the very same to me.

My earlier Post of 18th May. Robert Murat left Portugal for a few days The Mirror 16th May. London-born Murat also repeatedly went in and out of the family’s holiday apartment, potentially contaminating the crime scene. He helped co-ordinate initial searches and within 24 hours of Madeleine’s disappearance had told locals she was wearing pink pyjamas.Days later, Murat is believed to have returned to the UK to visit his former wife Dawn and their daughter Sofia in Norfolk. Have the police checked Robert Murat’s travel details when he travelled out of Portugal for a few days including if he had anyone travelling with him, the possibility of a child similar to his daughter and being treated as his daughter. Could he have taken Madeline with him as his daughter if she is so like his daughter he could have got through the passport check with the child being treated as his own if his daughter is on his passport. It is a possibility.Are we sure that he went directly to England. Surely his travel details should be checked.
This reminds me of the 11 yr old Robert Houlihan from Middleton in Cork when the killer Wayne O’Donoghue helped in the search, visited Robert’s house and assured Roberts mother that he would be found. He only confessed when Roberts phone was traced and his body was found.

They bring groups on Expeditions from Gibralter to remote islands off the east coast of Africa in a ship originally named “Seahawk Remamed “Naomi Corlett” in 2000.
Mirror 18th May. He was also linked to a business in Lagos offering boat trips in the Mediterranean and to North Africa.
If I were the McCanns I would have a private detective travel on that ship and to the islands that it visits.
Mirror 17th May Local reports claim Malinka disappeared from Praia da Luz at about the time Madeleine was plucked from her holiday apartment. Malinka is the third friend of Murat to be interrogated. Murat’s German girlfriend Michaela Walczuch and her Portuguese husband Luis Antonio were held.
It is strange if Malinka had nothing to hide why were his computer hard drives wiped clean when the police took it? I would be at a loss if I wiped mine clean.
Why were he and Murat in contact by phone at 11.30 PM the night Madeline went missing if they were only business contacts?
Where did Murat go when he hired the car , he could have had Madeline in the boot or God forbid her body for disposal similar to Huntley and Wayne O’Donoghue.
If these people are innocent forgive me for all the speculation but every suspicion has to be eliminated.
So concerned for Madeline and her parents.

This new DNA evidence is puzzling as so many people have been in the apartment, and the crime scene wasn’t protected for days. I think as somebody mentioned before the Police are planting misinformation in the press. The police did this early on too as they talked about ‘international gangs’ when they in fact had local man Murat from 100 yards down the road under surveillance.
As I said before everyone working on the case seems pretty sure who did it but they just can’t quite get the concrete evidence they need.

I must say that the recent television advert to find Madeline was tastefully compiled. Alas, there are no new leads, I believe that the Poilice reports of new DNA has been compiled to keep the story in the public domain. However, I fellt a bit uneasy the other day, when I viewed the Mcann footage of their trip to the Vatican; I hope I’m wrong but watching body language… I still hope that Murat is still suspect, but something doesn’t add up?.

How can they go on Spanish T.V.? after all, it is custom in Spain to take children out in the evening for Tapas, not to leave then ‘home alone’

The McCann’s have the fund, as stated before, and the support behind them to globe trot these other people are not doctors, not everyone has the money or the contacts behind them to be recognised, love is suppose to be stronger than money. ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others’

unfortunately this horrific kind of event occurs everywhere, all too often
it reminds me of Samantha Runnion, the little 5 yr old abducted outside her apartment a few years ago in California, then raped and murdered, her body accidentally discovered by a hiker 50 miles away….
each passing day, it’s grimmer for little Madeline, that’s the sad truth
and while a person is innocent til proven otherwise, so much circumstantial evidence points to Murat…
if the reports are true….the bestiality on the computer discs, the weird on-the-scene behavior (perhaps cunningly contaminating the McCann apartment to cover his tracks), etc…..all suggest he’s involved

The Mccanns are getting all this publicity because they are fighting for it, doing everything they can to keep it in peoples minds, No more No less.

The McCann’s are now in Spain but Spain has been preoccupied by its own case of child abduction - seven-year-old Yeremi Vargas who disappeared in the Canary Islands two months ago.
Family members have said they have scarcely been able to eat or sleep since Yeremi disappeared. The mother has had to be sedated.
I wonder if they met the Pope, been supplied with a private jet to spread the word about his disappearance, an enormous fund to enable them to do what they wish.
I would suggest that the fund is for all children who go missing, put in a big pot, to enable all parents to get publicity for their missing child.

Whatever the outcome people are missing a point.
What has this done to the tourist industry in Portugal due and rightly due down to the operational practices of not only the Police authorities but moreso the judicial representives.
If that country is governed in such a way it should be boycotted to show just how pathetic their compentance is.
This is not hearsay this is fact.
Because of their stringent laws to protect peoples anominity this happens.
They refuse to speak to the press or release pictures of suspects incase it has an outcome on a case.
Surely this is logic defied.
Logically the main object is to find the girl and then worry about the fine tunning later.
If I was the primeminister of Portugal to save my ass I would open all doors to any police force available and any suspects would be exempt from any help or advice until this was cleared up.
Portugal you have let the world down by accepting this type of leadership.
Hang your heads and hang them low.
Just watch your counrty fall appart because nobody will want to go there because of the way this case has been treated.

i just hope all this business about child porn is a lie.
