Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.

After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

People - if you want to know when frances Wicks is posting - under whatever name, and she uses various - well there’s a little thing that she does in her posts, the way she types something, that is a little different to what most people do. I don’t mean her phrasing or her use of language, or anything like that. It is really quite easy to spot if you really look at her posts.
Once you’ve spotted it don’t give the game away to those not in the know, but do go back through this forum, and the other Anorak ones, and look for that same thing in posts under other names. It then all becomes quite clear. She will make a post, then reply to it under one of her other names, agreeing with herself and condemning someone she has just slated under her “proper” name. Hilarious really!
Never mind frances, at least you have a sense of humour - more than can be said for so many on these forums, and your put-downs are something to behold. You really do like to get some people so worked up you can see the steam coming out of their ears, as I believe you said about Angry.

Did anyone on here sign the No.10 website petition demanding that the McCanns be investigated by Leicestershire social services?
I got the petition closed down and have it on very good authority that those who did sign it are now being investigated by operation Ore to check their backgrounds and activities.
Anyone who thinks that children are fair game for paedophiles whenever parents drop their guards for a few minutes seriously need to get their attitudes adjusted. Don’t you agree

I have been fromday 1 suspicous about this. My sences are twitching like mad and i cant get it out of m head that the parents have something to do with it.
there are so many questions i want to ask them and i am sure half the world will put me down for being cruel buti noticed i am not the only one who things they have something to do with it.
i hope they get what they deserve if i am right. i wonder how big the bank balance is now. Poor kid though.

well. l am so amazed that this amount of people are involved in all this story, l do believe that there is a power of mind and if all the people would think that she will be found, that’s whats gonna happen. For example, l would interpret Maddys story like a lesson for all of the people of the word, people should think HOW dangerous,unfair and sick the world is nowadays. And the only succesful way is to cooperate. I believe the everything will be ok and that there would be less sick people.

I think that it is downright disgusting that the media continues to cover this story. I think the McCann’s are really mentally ill. Who in his/her sane frame of mind would have brought three young children to Portugal and not to have secured a reliable babysitter on a night when they elect to dine out? He’s reported as being a medical doctor of sorts. I’m sickened by the fact that the media has not taken them to task for leaving three children unattended for 20 minutes. 20 minutes, multiplied by three or four times through the course of them dining out. Ok, the weather was hot and they didn’t feel like cooking in their villa. There are two professional adults, capable of conferring with each other…they ought to have realized that their options were:
1. Secure a reliable babysitter.
2. Opt to use the babysitting facilities provided within the complex.
3. Call to have pizza delivered to their home.
4. Compromise their desire to dine out and cook a small snack at home.
I also ask where were all the British based McCann family [family members, and friends] who are [now so willing] to join this fiasco in Portugal? - Oh, of course the media will not question business interests of luring such people to “dine here” their usual motto. As long as people eat out, pay tips and taxes…the economy will surely prosper. Besides, the media is also cashing in on this nonsense of Dr. and Mrs.McCann, touring: Europe: Germany, Spain, The Vatican and even Morocco. Who is paying for their touring nonsense? I suppose I ought to contribute to the: “Find Madeline Fund?”

the UK police think someone with excellent “local knowlege” likely committed the abduction…..
there were too many risks of being seen, etc…..so it was someone who knew the area very well…..this apparently because of the street layouts, need for ease of access and escape routes, etc….
sadly, the more time that elapses without new developments, the more it suggests Maddy is no longer alive…..
and, think about this: she’s old enough to be able to identify her abductor, if shown photos…..
so the abductor can’t release her and also elude identification and likely capture…..
so she’ll either never be released, but rather kept underground for years…..or she’ll be murdered
interestingly……the man who kidnapped a young boy in the US and held him for almost a decade (and molested him, etc…..), and who then kidnapped another 5 yr old boy (prompting the now older kidnapped boy to escape and run to the police) is now out of jail and living in berkeley, california…..
the older boy he kidnapped is now deceased, very tragic story

i wonder if all this publicity is such a good idea. since she’s so ‘high -profile’ any kidnapper would kill her in case shes recognised. and i really hate to say it but i think shes dead. if not how comes there been no reliable siting of her despite the big reward offered? But I still have my doubts as to if she really was or wandered off and fell in the sea or something.
