Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.

After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

The father of the missing four-year-old, Madeline McCann, has returned to England for a meeting about the campaign to find her.
Gerry McCann is expected to spend a day in England before returning on Tuesday to his wife, Kate ( she is in a spa in portuglal relaxing due to stress) and their two other children in the Algarve in Portugal.
The McCanns are considering travelling around Europe with the money the publick has donated to continue the search for Madeline, they don’t plan to invest any money in police dogs or reward money…. they just want their girl back.. who disappeared from a holiday apartment seventeen days ago. The police reported that the parents two doctors left their 3 kids alone in a resort room while they had dinner and later spend a few hours at the resort bar. The police was not call till four hours later becasue the police could not get a coherent statement from the parents because they where bouth legally under the unfluence.
Well, if they would have not been doctors…… this would be a different story. I hope little Madeline gets home safe…… regardles of the neglect of their parents. Please let’s pray for this little girl…… Amen!

“”We attended the local church service this morning as usual. After mass we bumped into an old colleague of my brothers who aslo happens to be from Liverpool and had a good chat with her.
There are very little media left in Praia da Luz although there was still one cameraman and photgrapher outside the church. Our requsets to respect our privacy have been folowed, with one or two minor exceptions during the last 52 days. Most of the campaigning will be done behind closed doors from now on and it is essential that Amelie and Sean are allowed to grow up without continually being photographed.
We picked the twins up early from the kids club and had a really nice afternoon with them, playing with some new toys and then down at the pool.
If Madeleine is not found in the next couple of weeks we need to move out to a nicer place the appartment we have been staying in is to small and sthe room service is not the best. I have to say the owners have been extremely understanding, as they came to Praia da Luz for a holiday and relocated to another apartment to save us moving again. This degree of flexibility does not exist in the resort in high society and high season. We have managed to look at a few properties to rent in the last couple of days and I think we have found somewhere suitable to live until we return back to the UK with Madeleine. The donations we have received are okay, we still need to hire a cook and a nanny because we are always going places to talkd to the media and also dinners.”

unfortunately this is why these things happen in life - there are some uncaring people out there with no regard for our childen or this planet. still think madeleie will be found and i hope other missing children too. these paedophiles (if indeed the case in this situation) will be brought to justice, technology is getting more advanced as are the policing techniques and soon they won’t be able to hide anywhere, the vile creatures.

I’m not religious, so I think praying doesn’t help, but it gives strength to the people who believe in it. All the support strengthen the parents of Madeline and that is great. All these thoughts of the people is impressive.
I don’t watch TV, so I don’t know what’s going on every day. Since I heard about this, I’m finding myself searching the internet for news about Maddy.
The kidnappers are obviously not interested in money, but I think it is a great idea to offer that and try. If Madeline is still alive, they’ll maybe get weak by getting offered a high amount of money.
What a cruel feeling not to know anything, and also to know that you maybe never find anything out.

Chezza_girl We all talk about the neglect of the parents online but you don’t see the media talk about it. Talk about the fact that the woman that wrote the Harry Potter books donated $3million dollars and the McCann’s say they are going to travel the world to remind the world of their little girl. Well I would hire privet detectives, Police dogs, add the $3 million to that wanted poster as incentive for the return of my kid… not travel the world on her expence.
Sterilise the underclass, we are not saying that paedophiles are entitled to do what they want…. But if you leave your wallet on the street… is going to be stolen! Parents don’t leave their kids un attended.

I agree totally 2usister. The McCanns should have known better than to leave their children alone. I’m sure that if this happened to an ordinary couple with not so good careers, they would have been dealt with by now. Maybe when this all blows over, the McCanns will be questioned as to why they neglected their children.

Why isn’t anybody pointing out that what the McCanns did it’s child neglect. To leave kids all under 4 years old in a hotel room alone so the parents can go out to dinner and drinks at a bar is just negligible! I hope the media points this out so other parents learn from this tragedy. I’m sure you can come up with a list of charges against the McCann’s, don’t get me wrong I feel their pain but what they did is just criminal.
