Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat And More Questions
MADELEINE McCann is missing. Still missing.
But today there is news. The daily front-page shots of Madeleine’s traumatised parents are moved further within the papers to make space for the head of Robert Murat.
“MADELEINE BRITISH MAN IS QUIZZED!” says the Mirror’s front-page headline.

After the speculation the paper delivers a welter of facts. Robert Murat lives with his mum. Robert Murat is in his 30s. Robert Murat lives with his mother in a villa 150 yards from the apartment where Madeleine McCann was snatched.
The Sun (“MADDIE: BRIT QUIZZED”) says Murat lives 100 yards from that McCann apartment. Like the Mirror, the Sun produces a front-page picture of “one-eyed Murat”. The Mail hears that Murat lost his eye in a BMX accident when he was a boy. The Mail says Murat lives 80 yards from Madeleine’s holiday apartment.
Murat is “stocky”. He offered to help the police hunt as a “translator”. He lives in Casa Liliana, with his mum Jenny.
The Suspect
The Sun’s Julie Moult considers the evidence. And delivers a piece entitled “stories of a fantasist”. “He always seemed so eager to get involved in the police investigation,” says the Sun’s woman–on-the-scene. “Robert claimed he had a daughter just like Madeleine and said he felt compelled to do anything he could. But to me he seemed like classic fantasist.”
The Sun introduces Martin Brunt, the crime news correspondent from its sister organ, TV’s Sky news.
He says Murat told him he’d been taken inside the McCanns’ apartment by police.
Sky news correspondent Ian Woods says he asked Murat to help him speak with locals.
“I met him and had a conversation with him. I tried to find out as much as I could about him,” says Woods, who checked out Murat’s details. “They did check out, and I left it at that for the time.”
The Mail’s Neil Sears also spots Murat. In “My encounters with a man ‘who just wanted to help’”, Sears tells Mail readers, “There was something more to the friendly expat who called himself ‘Rob’ than met the eye.”
Murat made Sears “feel slightly uncomfortable”.
But it was the Sunday Mirror’s Lori Cambell who alerted police to Murat’s behaviour, she saw as “creepy”.
Writing Wrongs
So much for investigative journalism. Questions were asked but nothing more was done. Murat is with police because he made a show of himself, because he acted as if working in an official capacity. Even though the Times says Murat was acting as “an official translator”.
So now the man in the chinos, with the glass eye, who lives with him mum and whose estranged wife, from Hockering, near Norwich, tells a neighbour “How could someone do something so terrible to little girl like that?’ is all over the papers.
Is Murat guilty? The papers produce nothing to indicate that he is. But if Murat is involved, look out for the stories of how British journalism cracked the case.
And look out for Madeleine McCann. Still missing…

I beleive the truth will out, somebody knows more than they are saying, its only a matter of time.
There are too many inconsistent reports.
Either the portugal police have more and cannot say or they have nothing.
Still, poor little girl remains unfound whether she is dead or alive.

no i dont think you are being self righteous hunn,i would never leave my babbies alone either,my youngest is 19 months,then 3 and a half then 10. i dont go anywhere with out them,they are my life,i dont leave their windows open in their rooms of a nite,u have to be so careful.the mcanns had been leaving their children alone most nites,whilst they went and dined out,i agree with you totaley.

What kind of sicko, irresponsible parents would drug there babies and leave them every evening whilst they are having a knees up . Isn’t this referred to as professional misconduct and CHILD ABUSE !
If some poor unfortunate single parent (driven to distraction) did this , and had a weekend away to seek respite, she would be had up for cruelty and child abuse.
I am sorry , but the sight of supposedly professional couple of Doctor’s make me physically sick!!
And no, I am not being self righteous, because when I was a young mother, wild horses would not make me leave my little innocents .

the mcanns have just been on gmtv,they are saying that they have not harmed their little girl,and they know she is still alive,and that maddie knows that her mom and dad are still looking for her and are not going to give up untill they find her,and they cant believe that people are acusing them.

morning star,thankyou for the info.so now it looks like it all points back to the mcann family,i so did not want it to be any of the mcann family,so many of the family would have to lie to protect them.if it was the mcanns,all the publicity they have had,and the attention,could u imagine what will happen,do u really think they could,their own little girl.couldnt the police just get dna from maddies room at home?its the”99″days today didnt somebody say that a pshycic said there would be news today?i actually feel sick,the police must really think that the mcanns are hiding something,to of bugged them,but the mcanns will now know they were bugged,wont they.

Detectives are awaiting the results of tests carried out on traces of blood recovered from Madeleine McCann’s holiday home.
Samples arrived yesterday at a UK forensic laboratory in a bid to establish if the evidence matched the missing four-year-old’s DNA.
The traces, found on the wall of the Algarve apartment, were only uncovered this week - more than three months after the British girl disappeared.
It is believed a specially-trained sniffer dog, brought in by British detectives, located the tiny traces despite attempts to wash them off.
Scientists are hoping to extract DNA from the sample to cross-reference against an example obtained from a toothbrush or hairbrush used by Madeleine.
As far as i can tell they dont have anything of Madeleine’s to compare the DNA to at this time? I wonder if the Mccanns will give the accurate samples to compare it to…I mean if they are involved, they dont want it to match….How will they know it is from Madeleine? I believe we will learn something soon…Poor, Poor Madeleine!! I pray that she is safe, but things dont look good!!

I thought it was odd that ONLY the Mccann Friend saw the man with the lil blonde girl in a blanket…(how could she see the pj’s and describe them if the girl was in a blanket) and how they all pointed fingers at Murat. Apparently the police completed their search of his home and property and did not find anything?
It was reported that there was evidence of a body in his garden…what happen with that. If that was true, why leave the man free, maybe to watch him. IMO Murat did not do anything. IMO the parents or atleast Dad Mccann and the friends acted odd from day one. Making up stories, seeing Murat peeking into the apartment(they didnt report that until AFTER Madeleine was missing) Their code of silence. Well if the police have been monitoring them, they must know something. And now look at the McCanns…they are upset that their are rumors and such about them and their friends so Dad will NOT write in his blog and they have not updated Madeleine’s websight. I hope the police are watching them, they may just up and disappear. The whole thing about Madeleine in the apartment, sleeping between her brother and sister, door unlocked, the inconsistencies in who and what time the children were checked, just the idea of them out in a bar and grill, leaving them unattended. One of the friends is now speaking for the partents saying the police have leaked info and it is a smear campaign…..And now the article says that the police may have known that Madeleine is not alive for a month? Maybe they were watching the parents and their friends. Does anyone know if the Mccann friends are still in Portugal?

There was no corpse or a body odour in Murat’s garden and house.
It seems that the police are finishing the investigations on Murat.
They are now concetrate on pary group 9. For a long time they controlled the emails and telephone calls of the party group including the parents.Through what they heard and read they concluded that Madaleine is not alive anymore. That is why the dogs came from England.They believed for a while that it was an abduction. So many “witnesses” “saw” a man running with a child in his arms putting the PJ on the wrong track. Those witnesses are MCcanns friends.Poor Murat, I never believed he was guilty.How manipulative are the Mccanns, the Pope,Brown, Washington, White House and even the PJ.They are now avoiding the media.If they have nothing to hide, why avoid?

POLICE hunting Madeleine McCann last night claimed they had got bombshell new evidence by bugging her parents.
Detectives allegedly monitored mobile phone calls, texts and e-mails between the McCanns and pals who were on the holiday when the four-year-old vanished.
A police source said they have been checking the “traffic” for weeks. According to one Portuguese newspaper the bugging revealed members of the party know Madeleine is dead.

Awful as their crime was , they were only 10 years old at the time.
The point that was raised at the time of their release, that the upbringing they received afterwards may (MAY) have helped to turn out two reasonably responsible adults.
One wonders how much rehab they still get, but they were only children themselves and then removed from whatever influenced them into the violence from either nurture or nature.

Yes Lorraine, another question i also have…why did the twins not wake up…did they see anything? or did they wake up when mom started screaming…oh didnt she run BACK to the bar and grill after finding Madeleine missing, yelling that THEY took her? Did she leave the twins in the room AGAIN?

Jon Venables and Robert Thompson, the two boys caught on CCTV with James, were convicted of abducting and murdering him in November 1993.
In June 2001 the Parole Board announced the pair were no longer a danger and recommended they be freed as soon as possible.
Dame Elizabeth Butler-Sloss had ruled in January 2001 the identities of Venables and Thompson should remain secret as there was a “real possibility of serious physical harm and possibly death” to them.
I had not heard about this lil boy so i looked up his name and found this…..HOW SAD…they are worried someone may harm or kill the boys that killed this lil boy and will keep their identities secret? Where is the fairness there?
And 8 years to take someone life…The court systems STINK!!!!

I would of lost my mind if my child was taken and would now be a total mess in the mental ward. Maybe Mom Mccann is on some meds? I know i would have to be to even function. But as far as the twins…I would not let them out of my sight EVER….Dad Mccann i cant figure out…he does seem like he is on a business campaign….I hope they get the DNA from the apartment blood soon. But then that only tells us yes or no Madeleine left blood there…i guess it depends on the amount. We still dont know where Maddie is….
I read a post that suggested Dad McCann or one of the McCann friends knows what happen…..that Mom is not involved….I dont know what to believe anymore…We are told she was sleepin in between her brother and sister in that room and went missing…..Just wondering when someone other than McCann and Friends saw her alive….

Stopped using the creche ! I should hope so, if one of my kiddies had gone missing ,God forbid, I’d make sure the others were wrapped up in cotton wool and strapped to my back!
I do admire how they have remained so positive, if it were me I would be a mess.

we never heard nothing more on the dogs getting a sniff of a body being buried,not even on the news or anywhere. and yes i agree wid you star why dont they take them dogs to where they were told where maddie SUPOSSEDLY is.its horribl isnt it not knowing where she is.

I wonder if they ever went back to the place they were searching per that letter that had the map of where Madeleine could be found? They did a quick search then, maybe they need to take those dogs and go back to that area. I guess that was the same type of letter used to find 2 girl’s bodies.
Also did anyone hear any more about the dogs getting a hit that a body may have been in the apartment? I read they got a hit in Murat’s garden but never heard any more about that. Also dogs were searching alone the ocean? How horrible that would be if someone tossed her in there. Sick…Sick people!!

Mr and Mrs McCann today stopped using the creche at the Ocean Club, where they have dropped off twins Sean and Amelie to be looked after every day since the disappearance of Madeleine.
They are said to be aware that it is now causing disruption to other families using the facility because of the increased presence of Portuguese media.
Mr McCann has also not updated his daily blog on the campaign website - http://www.findmadeleine.com.
The family are said to want to keep a low profile “until the storm blows over”.
Does that mean mom and dad mccann will have to watch over the twins themselves? That is something i cant understand…the lost one of their children and have no clue where she is or what happen to her(or do they?) and they continued to take the twins to the creche thing?!?!?!? And then dad did his campaigning, got haircuts, filmed things and wrote blogs and answered emails, mom did interviews and stared at the ocean. Why could they not take care of the twins? Mom did say she did not want to go back home, even with Madeleine….odd
I still hope and pray Madeleine is alive and well and will be found soon!! Then i think The Mccanns need to enroll in some classes to learn how to take care of their kids.

i have had a look on a different page and it says in switzland alone, the police statistics show that 1593 children were reported missing in 2006,and 1106 in 2005,what is happening,what are they doing to stop this,its getting worse. if there is a link between the little girl in switzland and maddie,well the shoot out that happened there is still a man from the shoot out ,still alive but in hospital,mite be helpful,IF THEIR IS A CONECTION.

RACHEL,we all feel the same way hunni,desperate to know where this little girl is and who has taken her,and are so desperate for her safe return. i remember the case of JAMIE BULGER. and it was heart wrenching to hear what two 10 year old boys were capeble of,and it did come about that they had watchd an acton movie,they had seen some of these things done there.the world is so cruel,and am so scared of letting my kids loose.bu as days pass its horrible to think,but the chance of little madde coming home alive are getting slim.i dont know how the hell anybody could even think of harming a child,so small and so fragile,i look at my little girl who is the same age ,the thouht of somebody taking her,it would kill me,so rachel hunn,you are not alone,we all feel the same. xx

that little boy was Jamie Bulger. it was a horrible case, and the two offenders were caught, it was absolutely horrifying that they were only 10 years old. The main question when it all came to light was where did they learn all that cruelty from? parents, tv?

I agree with you, I think it is really important that people all over the world are notified, not just like we have been by maddie’s dissapearance but by any others too. These children, are what our children are to us and they have less chance of being found if they are not being shown in the media. I think that it is really important that the media grasp onto any missing children, and instead of suggesting that children may have wandered off - stating they have dissapeared even if this is the case. The case I read about lately on this website http://www.thecrimelibrary.com is a really sick case - I was 4 when this happened but two 10 year old boys stole someone’s 2 year old son and run off with him, tortured him all day and later took him to a railway track before stoning him to his death. The things they did to him were absolutely appauling, they threw blue paint on him, stripped him naked, beat him with an iron bar, put batteries in his mouth and rectum and then threw bricks at him before leaving him for a train to kill him. He actually died before the train hit him but when the forensics found the body he was completely in half. his lower body was half way up the track. These were ten year old boys - what is the world coming to? I think you have to be so so careful these days. I’ve noticed a significant increase in the amount of child dissapearances, child deaths, and abductions since I was a child and fear this is going to continue to grow. What pisses me off is that pedophiles, when released (fuck knows why they release them!) get to live a life full of anonymouty, so that nobody knows who they are?! they don’t deserve that! they deserve to be tortured for the rest of their lives. Whatever happened to an eye for an eye? its a life for a life. Life imprisonment is life imprisonment and if they are gonig to let them out early then it should never be called life imprisonment. I think the world is becoming such a sick place and as i get older i just don’t want to be living in this society anymore. These criminals are like animals. Its absolutely absurd that the government allow these people to freely walk the streets and live a normal life where people will be unaware that they live here - what happens if a released pedophile re-offends and the child didn’t have a chance because they didn’t know he was a pedophile or that he even lived on their street?! I can’t believe what the world is coming to. Everyday Lorraine I am getting so so frustrated with not knowing where Madeleine is - time is ticking, if they don’t do something soon it is going to be so late. Why is it taking so long - its nearly 100 days since she got taken away. I am getting so so upset over this. I just want to know where she is.

does anybody think that ther could be a link between little maddie and little ylenia? there is actually a little boy,yeremi vargas that has been missing sinse march,he is from gran canaria.i cant believe that ther are so many children that are reported missing,it is so scarey.for god sake where are these children going?? i honestly think that EVERYBODY should be made aware of these children disapearing EVERYWHERE.
