MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.

First of all it looks as though the fat little turd shot his twin…Second, shot a animal in an enclosure is not hunting. It is like shooting fish in a barrel. Their was no proof that the pig was aggressive. There are two sides to every story! If you are reading the families version, then you must a hick! The animal was domestic, not wild!

If you read the story it was PUT INTO the hunting club because it was a danger and needed to be destroyed.
Ok, they could have euthanized it instead, but clubs pay good money for feral livestock like that.
And as for the family’s perspective, how were they to know that this pig they shot on a piece of hunting land was formerly a domesticated animal? How could you prove they knew even if they did? They had every right to claim what they did.
If you reply to argue, better have cold hard facts.

The pig was a danger to everyone and everything it encountered. The mere fact that it was over 1000 pounds and had an uneven temperament meant that it was only a matter of time before a person got killed.

I am so confused! I have stared at the picture being sent aound and I still can’t tell which one is the pig. They are both so fat. Seriously, I hope that the fat ass and his father die after being attacked on one of there hunts in an inclosed hunting area that is stocked with pigs. What a loser! The hog was not wild and had a name: Fred. It was sold to the Stone’s four days before it was “heroically” gunned down, rather unprofessionally, by the kid with overweight.

I must say I was in great opposition of this hunt and after reading through this board, I understand the situation much better, especially your post. I still don’t like it.m but I really had no idea whatsover that these animals were the pests that they are. I hate the idea of killing animals and WISH I could quit eating meat…but I was raised on it, so yes, I eat it. I generally don’t approve of animal testing and do all that I can to buy products that don’t abuse animals. But after thinking about it, I dont’ imagine this animal’s death was worse than the lives of the animals we eat. Three hours of pain vs. a lifetime in a pen you can’t turn around in is not even a comparison. I am no longer appalled by this hunt after reading your intelligent response. Had I started at the bottom of this list I could have reached this conclusion much sooner.
Also, just so the world knows…I am from Dallas Texas and wanted to mention that we are not all stupid hicks down here. Some of us have interests in science and spend more time thinking than watching TV, and NEVER VOTED FOR BUSH.
Although I am moving to Colorado soon…

This was in a hunting preserve.
How, in any way, shape, or form, does this protect any drivers/native wildlife? It was a fenced-in area, and the pig was someone’s pet, by the way, which they sold to a canned hunting farm because they are horrible, horrible people.
By the way, that kid is a fat little hillbilly freak.
And his father should be castrated.

The father of this kid is a moron, you don’t take an 11 year old to hunt a giant pig with a pistol, and certainly not a 50 cal that he probabl can’t control. He fired 16 times and hit it 6 times, which means he certainly caused undue and needless pain for that animal. I’m not against hunting, but if you’re going to do something like that you need to make sure its one shot, one kill. I’ve heard people say that theres no way you could take that down with one shot, but I know for a fact that’s bullshit. I took a 985 pound buffalo down in Feb. With one shot from a 7mm, so it can be done. In any case this kids a perfect example of those hicks that give the rest of us dignified hunter a bad name. Good on them for using all the meat on the animal, though.
