Madeleine McCann: Blown Out Of All Proportion
MADELEINE McCann is on the beach at Praia da Luz. Or at least her likeness is.
As the Mail reports, Chris Lennox and Les Harley, have driven 2,200 miles from Scotland. They have brought along a 800 sq ft giant inflatable billboard appealing for Madeleine’s safe return.
The Mail doesn’t say anything about Chris Lennox and Les Harle nor why they should choose to display Madeleine’s image in such a fashion. Is this not a little unusual, creepy even?
At least the BBC bothers to speak with campaigners. It hears Mr Lennox tell us: “My heartstrings have been pulled on this and I want to help. I have a family with small kids and my wife has been following this from day one. She told me to come out here and do what I could. I am clearly here to help raise awareness.”
Such is the way of public spectacles, like the Madeleine McCann mystery, that many feel involved. They want to do their bit. But what can they do? Put themselves in the public eye? Make a huge inflatable and show the world how much they care?
Lennox and Hale plan to tour the area with their massive inflatable sign. And surely it will keep Madeleine’s name in the public eye. People will be reminded that Madeleine McCann has gone missing. Parents on holiday will be made aware that children can be taken. They will anxiously hug their children closer. And, if they’ve read some of the over the top media coverage, they will worry over holidaying in Portugal.
Meanwhile, back in the UK, Sun readers can go online and watch a video of Madeleine. It’s called “Maddie on Mobile”. The Mail has stills of Madeleine McCann at the airport, excitedly climbing the airplane’s steps.
The two films, one of 13 seconds and another of nine, were taken on camera phones. “Somewhere in the background there’s even the sound of her voice,” says the Mail. Ghouls will love it.
And they can see it on the Sun’s website. Right after an advert for a film called Paradise Lost, featuring lot of babes in bikinis, and before “Sex in the City, a video showing a couple shagging on a London rooftop, there’s Madeleine on the airport shuttle bus.
So we look. But what does it teach us? Only that the media owns the story of Madeleine McCann. And that she is just another form of entertainment to pass the time before the next show…

Why have these people not been held before a court? They left their 3 children alone in a foreign country, so what if they were 50 yards or so away from their room, they obviously don’t give a shi* about the childrens safety.
What if one of the kids were to wake up choking to death on whatever
What if a fire broke out?
What if someone tip toed into the hotel room and take one of them kids…oh wait…that’s exactly what happened.
Instead of being grilled by courts, they’re being treated like ‘celebs’ galovanting around the globe raising ‘awareness’

Yes One of the caracteristic of all chordatas is that they have tail with postanal position. Therefor tail begins right after the anus and in most snakes it`s quite short (compare to the body length). In the legless lizards the tail is much longer comparing to the body (one way of distinguishing them). The ventral side of the snake tail has two rows of plates but only one row on the body (at least in Europe).

My point is the bona fide paedophile gets off on this stuff, the persons who took this child, if in fact a child was “taken”, is a hero to them, and the longer they stay uncaptured the smarter he is.
In their twisted logic, they are seduced by the child. Whether the offender is wealthy or not is of no matter. It is bizarre though, that the infant was left by her parents in the first place, while they went drinking.
If this had happened in a lower socio-economic area the social workers would be crying foul and the chattering classes up in arms. There would be no fund to help poorer families maintain a lifestyle in a holiday resort.
Now THAT’S twisted.

What i was trying to say in my last post is the whole reason for Madeleine being in the media like she is is so she stays in the publics eye for as long as posible, but i think that when she is found that she wont be remembered and little missing maddy for the rest of her life.
We remember Ben Needham because he is still missing and we still feel for the familys loss.
I havnt forgot Ben Needham but its normally when something like this happens that you remember, you may remember him every day but i only remember the sad things that havnt affected me personally when another sad thing happens the same. although i feel for these people i also carry on my life.
But…..
The poor Familys and friends of these familys will feel the trauma for ever.

i think that when Maddy is found then most people will after afew yrs forget. It is because of the media attention she is always there something happens to remind the world of maddy now, but if the media stop all together then in time Maddy will fade out of the publics minds and the next big story would come out.
When something like this happens everyone wants to help and get involved to find the missing child it is human nature although we cant do alot we want to show we care, but once the story disapears people tend to forget just as easy. Im not saying that this is wrong im saying its what happens.

who are we to judge what acts these desparate parents are doing to bring back their little girl? who are we to say that what they are doing is wrong?
they made on mistake, we ALL make mistakes, none of us are perfect, but for them, this was one hell of a mistake. one that will haunt their lives forever, whether or not Madeleine returns.
now im not saying that ALL this media attention is a good idea, in many ways it is the complete opposite. if (God Willing) madeleine does return, she will ALWYS be known as ‘ah you’re little Maddy McCann! the one who went missing!’ its traumatic enough without that hanging over her for the rest of her life. but anyway its been done now, so no amount of criticising is going to change the fact that Madeleine is now famous worldwide. but it was done by her parents out of love and desperation.
and i think that is admirable

If it was your kid would you say “dont let it take over the world ” its not just to help one kid, its to help all of the children of the world be safer. With this sort of media they will think twice before they take another child every child should get this sort of media coverage every child deserves that.

I think its crap that they left Maddie alone and i think that someoone had to know that she was alone in apartment it had to be someone that knew the movements of the McCanns and it must be someone that Maddie knew if she wasnt screaming when she was seen being carried away, if it was her. I know that my little brother screams like hell when someone talks to him he dosnt know.
I dont think Maddies mum or Dad done this but someone she knows did and after this last sighting i hope that they look into the people that stayed at the resort or worked thier and the where abouts of them now some of them may be in Malta and that is where they may find leads now look if any of the people that were thier that night are in Malta or been there recently.

I’ve spent ages reading all of these comments, things are getting pretty heated but there is much to agree with on both sides of the argument.
Sam for instance, telling us they are good people-do you know them personally? The sick jokes are way out of line, but I know that seeing the parents jetting around made a lot of people cynical, although they cannot be enjoying themselves.
If your child had been abducted, you’d be scared to go to the loo while the other kids were in the next room, but the McCann’s leave their remaining kids in one country while they fly to another - how strange is that? Where are their parental instincts?
Finally, many people are saying here that they aren’t bad parents, they didn’t know what would happen…well what would make them bad parents? What they did was immoral, illegal, irresponsible and the defenceless child is paying for it. Are we to beleive that this happened on the one and only time they left their toddlers alone? If they are comfortable doing that in a strange country, what do they do back home when they fancy a night out?
