London 2012 Olympics Logo Does The Job

by | 6th, June 2007

THE logo for thee 2012 Olympics is causing some chatter. The Sun employed a blind woman to create a verison and said hers was better than the official version. It wasn’t. It was rubbish. Although how she manged to spell “LONDON” and create five rings containing pictures is impressive.

In fact, all the alternative efforts say – and we include the work of a monkey called Katie and a Sun Reader – is that the design agency behind the logo did a pretty good job.

Magnus Linklater agrees:

The Olympics 2012 logo breaks pretty well every design rule in the book. It is not simple, it is not memorable, it is not beautiful. It is bound to be a success.
