Listen Up Paris Hilton: What Happens In Jail If You Are Really Ill
PARIS Hilton in in jail once again. So princess-like is Paris that after hours in chokey she felt the pang of a pea under her matress and developed a rash.
But what occurs in an American jail if you are really sick, and not just an onanistic cry baby like Paris?
Washington, DC: A 27-year-old quadriplegic man sentenced to serve ten days in a Washington, DC jail on charges that he possessed a minor amount of marijuana died while in custody last week due to inadequate health care, including prison officials’ failure to provide him with a ventilator.
The victim, Jonathan Magbie, had been paralyzed from the neck down since the age of four, was unable to breath on his own, and required nursing care 20 hours a day.

“custody last week due to inadequate health care” Magbie actually died Sept. 24th 2004. His family was awarded 1 million dollars.

I do feel sorry for Paris. However, she repeatedly demonstrated that she thought she was above the law, what with twice being caught driving with a suspended license, failing to register for her rehab classes, driving TWICE the posted speed limit at night with no headlights on, previous hit and run, and so on.
I think she’s never had to learn the lesson that most of us learn in childhood; there are consequences to our actions. All of her life, she’s had her money to buy her way out of situations she gets herself into. Examples are stealing the music for one of the songs on her album and the above mentioned hit and run.
This is a harsh way to learn that actions have repercussions which can’t be paid off, but it’s a lesson Paris desperately needs. Also, harsh as it is, this way is much less harsh than waking up in the hospital to find that you’re responsible for someone’s death due to your drunk or reckless driving.
Paris’ actions which led her to prison weren’t harmless. She risked not only her own life and that of her friends with her, but that of innocent people on multiple occasions. The poor medical marijuana guy, on the other hand, hadn’t the potential to hurt anyone at all with his actions. She’s considered for home arrest due a medical condition, when we’ve all seen how much she respects court orders and isn’t a danger to others yet this wicked, evil, dangerous parapalegic isn’t allowed even a desparately needed ventilator while incarcerated, much less considered for home or hospital release. Justice sure ain’t blind, is it?

There are a lot of medical marijuana patientys in jail, even elderly people. Some are in mold-infested federal prison camps in CA. Paris has no grounds to whine. She put lives in danger by driving drunk, then violated her probation twice. She should serve all 45 days.

well imagine the anti marijuana brigade will be protesting that its sooo bad for you to take it, and will overlook completely his physical condition and needs, bit like the prison authorities.
Bit like the Gran jailed over here for possession, its so bad for her brain and could damage it , at 70 odd + who really cares what condition her brain is in at 120.
But Paris Hilton? who really cares after all she didn’t.
