Why British Universities Boycott Israel

by | 11th, June 2007

THE problem with free speech and a people who enjoy debate is that not all Israelis and Jews think the same:

When it comes to anti-Semitism, the British, like many nations, have a history of both good and bad.

And in truth, it does not much matter whether the British love us or hate us. What does matter is what they do about it, and what they think they can get away with.

I believe strongly that the only reason that the British academic union voted for their boycott is because it does not fear the reaction of its respected Jewish academic colleagues. Indeed, many of its members believe that their Jewish counterparts condemn Israel as strongly as they do.

Can you hear the screams of Jew-ophobia and the cry “We’re all Israeli Professors Now”?
