Ive always believed the parents had something to do with it

In the meantime, let us all pray that little Madeleine will be found alive and well. I’m not that optimistic about such a happy ending, but I nonetheless wish with all my heart for it to happen.

But since the Portuguese police shrouds all of its investigations in a veil of secrecy (which is not, by and in itself, necessarily a bad thing), it should therefore comes as no surprise that medias are rife with false or erroneous reports, unsubstianted rumors and innuendos.

I am a criminologist and just would like to clear some issues that seem to me a bit clouded.

First and foremost, sexual predators in general and pedophiles in particular are NOT mentally ill. They are sociopathic sexual sadists in most cases. Sociopathy is a personality disorder, NOT a mental disease by any stretch of the imagination. Sociopaths simply have NO conscience, hence they are utterly unable to feel compassion, empathy, guilt or remorse. Period. They are self-centered, hedonistic and narcissistic. In other words, nothing matters to them except their own desires, needs, urges and self-gratification. Consequently, human beings, for them, serve essentially three purposes : they merely exist to be abused, manipulated, or ignored (at best) or neutralized (disposed of) at the worst.

Second, it is far from uncommon for police and/or media to receive hoax letters, most especially so in high-profiled cases like this one. Even so far back as in 1888, at the height of the Whitechapel terror caused by the depredations of Jack the Ripper, police and newspapers alike were deluged with hundreds of hoax letters per week. Closer to us, in the 60′s, the infamous Zodiac taunted the police for quite a few years with numerous letters. So nothing new under the sun here either.

Third, the investigation about Madeleine McCann’s disappearance has been jeopardized from its very onset. The fact that the Portuguese police have failed to secure the [crime] scene as soon as they got there (instead of about 12 hours later), allowing it therefore to be contaminated beyond reprieve, then the fact that they wasted another way too precious 12 hours before alerting the Port Authorities and so forth, all this contributed to almost irretrievably sabotage the inquiry. Let’s not forget that in ALL criminal cases, the FIRST 72 hours are CRUCIAL. So here, the Portuguese police have wasted the first 24 hours out of the 72 after which a case goes colder and colder.

Fourth, the truth is that we still do not know exactly what happened this fateful night, except that, of course, Madeleine McCann vanished. So far, it is the only thing that can be ascertained.

Finally, I hereby totally agree that the McCanns should be held fully responsible and accountable for gross neglect and reckless endangerment of children under the age of 4. It is not a question of being unduly harsh on the parents or unsensitive to their plight, no. It is a matter of justice, of or law, if you so prefer. For the fact remains : IF the McCanns would NOT have acted the way they did, it is more than highly probable that little Madeleine would today be safe and sound and that none of this truly horrifying story would have occured, clear and simple.

I wish to apologize for any mistakes I might have made while writing, for I am from Montréal, Québec, Canada, and French is my mother’s tongue, not English, which I learned only in my early twenties.

With both Belgium girls and only one rape why is it assumed there were two people? Reports suggest that is believed.

Unknown if the person responsible in B. to be part of a ring or a loner? If sometimes people are part of a ring act alone and sometimes the person acts with others the others may not be aware of what one has done alone? Just a guess.

There have been a number of hoax so it is hard to know if the person who wrote the hoax letter was making a personal claim or misleading for self or group activity. At least that is the way it comes across without knowing more. Also, I can’t remember the date of the hoax letter but curious if there was any reason for the timing. What presumed reason for person who wrote and the timing in the first letter? There must be specultion about the first letter. Even with hoax it sounds like someone knew the area when second letter was written.

Somewhere I read about people who might have felt they suffered for not being there in a similar way, although most of the discrimmination postings I have read have sounded like British people.

Where there are rocks anywhere are there also braches?

I can see how the McCanns, with no body, refuse to accept any reasoning that the letter was anything other than a hoax. Honestly, I have experienced some bad limbo and shock at the capabilities of people but I can’t begin to imagine what they have been going through on that kind of level.. No, I would not be able to accept death without a body either.

With little understanding, due to Portugal reporting, how exactly the apartment was broken into. The Portugal reporting claims there was no forced entry. I believe the parents but limited to only early reporting what they thought about the entry, unclear really. Also, if true, the reporting about the staff offering moniter about that time brings more people aware in other ways. It is hard to rule out, without knowing more, if there are nationality sightings. Curious. It seems to me the entry info is important.

Maddie’s parents secretly bugged

POLICE hunting Madeleine McCann last night claimed they had got bombshell new evidence by bugging her parents.

Detectives allegedly monitored mobile phone calls, texts and e-mails between the McCanns and pals who were on the holiday when the four-year-old vanished.

A police source said they have been checking the “traffic” for weeks. According to one Portuguese newspaper the bugging revealed members of the party know Madeleine is dead

I to find it odd that parents would leave 3 small child in day care during the day and then in an unlocked apartment in a strange country while they are out eating and drinking night after night.
Dad McCann tells us they did nothing wrong, it’s like leaving them while eating in the garden!! What?!?!? Is he serious? And Mom McCann takes the twins to day care to go stare at the ocean? The parents set up a paypal account and are asking for money to support them? The friends are also odd and i was glad to see the police notice the inconsistencies and say all 9 are being treated as suspects. The whole story is odd. I hate to think the parents are involved, but from what i have read in the news…they look odd
