Sir Salman Rushdie Verses Iran
MAYBE if Salman Rushdie’s next book could be about blowing up Israel, nuclear bombs and how very tall and dapper Mr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is, a balance can be attained?
Says Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini on the matter of Rusdie’s knighthood:
“Giving a medal to someone who is among the most detested figures in the Islamic community is… a blatant example of the anti-Islamism of senior British officials.
“The measure that has taken place for paying tribute to this apostate and detested figure will definitely put British statesmen and officials at odds with Islamic societies, the emotions and sentiments of which have again been provoked.”

I agree with the Muslims. Why give a medal to someone who has caused great offence? To both Muslims and Christians. I’m sure even the PC brigage would agree with me.
Plus the British tax payer has funded Rushdie’s security for 10 or more years. All because he couldn’t bear to say the little word ’sorry’ I find it best to try and not cause offence where possible, and if I have, to apologise.
Making Rushdie a sir has been a monumental disaster. Pity the Queen didn’t use the sword to cut his stupid book in half instead of knighting him with it
Ah! I know! Take the knighthood away and chop the book in half!

The Queen is a ruler of a Christian country, since muslims are burning effergies of our queen they are insulting our god, perhaps they themsleves deserve death. Hmm do we have any old school, live by the sword die by the sword, types around anymore.

You know what, “Islam is NOT the only religion that must use threats to get respect”; in Islam thats the same for persons who insult and ridicule any divine religions, whether Christianity, Islam or Jewish.
Never ever anybody scientist or philosopher has been sentenced to death because of opposition to Islam; this is only for one who insults.

You mean I have to honor the “40 virgins per martyr” theory to get respect from Muslims? Islam is the only religion that must use threats to get respect.
