Why Knight Salman Rushdie And Not Bernard Manning?
SHOCKED at how seriously the Islamists take the British honours system. Over here, we really aren’t that bothered. Mick Hume writes:

No, it looks like a political stunt to make a point against Rushdie’s enemies about free speech. In which case, why knight him and not Bernard Manning?
And no fatwa needed - Manning’s already dead…

Zeeshan is a fraud. He is advocating genocide. Take a look at this sentence: I don’t think it would take more than 12 months to blow up the Mecca, and kill/convert all religious Muslims. Makes you wonder who the real extremist is. So not only fundies its all religious Muslims now that are in the firing line.

I’m a secular Muslim Pakistani and I think it’s the Queen’s slap on the face of extremist, savage and ignorant Muslims, and I quite support it. Rushdie’s life has been ruined with constant threats to his life. The sanity and sagacity of the Buckingham Palace is beyond doubt and in fact the Queen has put to light a very fundamental question: Should you have your head chopped for disagreeing with somebody’s religious beliefs? Should such religious beliefs be allowed to exist and affect the world in the first place? The Muslims who show their violence in the streets should thank God that the West has not bent down to their level, instead maintained it’s humanism and grace, giving aid, education and every aspect of civilization to the Islamic establishments. How about going Hitler on the Muslims? I don’t think it would take more than 12 months to blow up the Mecca, and kill/convert all religious Muslims.

I know — let the British political establishment decide who is “knighted” based on potential religious franatics perspectives, rather than based on pre-established criteria that is consistent from one knight candidate to another.

why are they so upset. the novel was based on their beloved false profit. why don’t they embrace it as they embrace the rest of the nonsence written by the false profit?

I don’t condemn works of Rushdie, just a really bad idea on the part of UK. A little more discretion has to win out.

I wonder if anyone who condemns the work of Rushdie has read his books, which are gems of literature and not more insulting to religion than many others written these days.

Dear God, the PC brigade knight a blasphemer in the eyes of Islam, and are too stupid to see the obvious outcome.
There are many literary types (British) who are worthy of this award, Salman Rushdie with this drivel doesn’t come close.
Personally I’d have voted for Irving Welsh for Scots/English relations.
