Madeleine McCann, Toscano, Malta And Going Equipped
THE Express likes Antonio Toscano, the man who claims to know who kidnapped Madeleine McCann.
The paper hears Toscano say once again that he knows of “the Frenchman” who stole Madeleine. She was abducted to order by a gang of “wealthy paedophiles”.
But Madeleine has been seen in Malta, or at least a blonde girl has; the Express talks of three fresh sightings. Is it Madeleine? And if it is, do the criminals who seem to have taken her read the UK papers, or want to be caught?
But what should we do if we do see the missing child?
Gerry McCann tells us: “The clear advice is to call the local police as soon as possible, or someone working in an official capacity such as hotel staff or tour representative.”
He goes on: “Please note that the emergency police numbers are variable in each country and for those going on holiday it might be a good idea to enter the number in your mobile phone.”
Mr McCann, who the Express likes to remind its readers is a “cardiac consultant”, needs the world’s help.
We cannot help but feel for him. We want to read about his daughter being spotted and found alive and well. But people go on holiday to escape stress and grief. Only ghouls would go equipped with a Madeleine spotting kit.
Or someone after the massive reward.

Which brings us back to Toscano. “I’m certain that Madeleine is still in Europe,” says he, “perhaps even still in Portugal, that’s she is alive and is being held by this man.” The Frenchman.
He goes on: “I intend to contact the McCanns and offer my help to the family and get this girl back”.
But Gerry McCann has already advised anyone with information to go to the police.
If Toscano was wanted wouldn’t the fraught and desperate McCanns seek him out? He’s not too hard to find.
What can be gained from him contacting them, aside from fame and the authority to help shift copies of any subsequent book…

And how would you go about recognizing the vanished child, m? It’s doubtful that she’d be wearing the same jammies, sunglasses would cover up that distinctive eye, and a hat would mask the hair.
Doesn’t anyone else find it strange that there have really been no clues handed out, other than pictures, that might help to identify the child?
Not a word about her preferences in breakfast food, her addiction to McDonalds Happy Meals (TM), no musings about little songs or dances that are regularly done, not a peep about a liking/dislike for cats, dogs, horses or what have you.
Coming from such a religious family, is she fascinated with rosaries? Did she race happily into every open church door (Catholic, of course)?

Meanwhile, reliable people (Brits, we hope) are reporting more sightings of Madeleine on Malta than those three Portuguese kids did of the Virgin Mary at Fatima (the 13th day of six consecutive months in 1917, starting on 13 May).

Madeleine McCann vanished on May 3. Since then there have been several sightings of Maddie and police are now investigating thirty or so of those sightings in Malta. One report claims that a witness spotted a girl she believed to be Madeleine get on a luxury yacht. Police in Malta have been overwhelmed with sightings but are persuing every lead.
Police in Portugal are now looking very strongly at a new lead as well in their search for the 4-year-old Madeleine. They are following a tip based on the evidence of a Spanish journalist who has investigated pedophile ring. “This lead is being taken seriously,” police chief inspector Olegario de Sousa said. “We are going to follow this lead.”
Spanish journalist Antonio Toscano has been interviewed by Portuguese police for two hours.

Madeleine McCann sightings continue in Malta - Over twenty-five separate reports have come into police claiming to have seen a girl they believe might be Madeleine McCann.
The Daily Express reports that the total number of reported sightings of Madeleine in Malta has now reached twenty-nine since she disappeared on May 3 from her parent’s Portuguese holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.
Interestingly enough, a report says that a small girl resembling abducted Madeleine McCann was seen being taken aboard the yacht of a wealthy Arabic family, this is what police in Malta have been told. There has also been a sighting on a ferry on June 20

A Spanish journalist who claimed that the disappearance of four-year-old Madeleine McCann was linked to a international paedophile ring has been questioned by police.
A spokesman for Portuguese police said Antonio Toscano, 36, was interviewed by police for two hours yesterday but added that they were “cautious” about treating the information as a new lead.

I agree anonymous but the report itself seems so vague in all it’s details that wouldn’t suprise me if someone just made it up and the journalist didn’t bother checking the reliabilty of the story hence no real facts being reported. The report doesn’t even mention who gave the story to functionpix, was it the police? or was it the witnesses?
If it was the police there would have been a police statement, if it was the witnesses then why are there no quotes from said witnesses?
The only quote is from an unamed Portuguses security official, now what exactly is a “security official”?…. I couldn’t get much vaguer even if it tried!

The yacht’s name , registration number and place would be clearly visible for quite a distance, so there wouldn’t be a problem identifying it.
However you cannot hound and chase people just because someone ‘thinks’ they have someone on board against their will. Why cannot people go to the Police with information, otherwise its just gossip.

Jan, you ask people to open their eyes and yet you give credence to the “Arab yacth” story!
Perhaps you need to open your eyes about that particular story,
can you not see how vague and unsubstantiated that story is?
For a start there is no specific location given out. No information like yatch name given out. No statement from any of the “several witnesses” No statement from the Maltese police, no details of how the “witnesses” knew they were in fact an Arab family. Also they vaguely mention “security guards” but don’t mention if they were boatside security or private personal security.
Another “error” in the article which has been changed in the Express article, an unnamed PORTUGUESE security official (What’s a security official??) states the words “HERE in MALTA!” Aside from the fact that the Express seems to have just copied the report from Functionpix, Functionpix is hardly Reuters!
As already stated it’s highly unlikely that Madeleine ever was on the island of Malta. Given the numerous numbers of unspecifics that the FunctionPix article gives, then I rather think that the story is poorley researched or indeed fabricated.

I read these comments every day and have yet to see anything productive. All I see are people slamming the Mccanns and people defending them and it just goes on an on. I think that most of us do not come here to get into an argument with these shit disturbers. We come here to communicate with others who are interested in being more positive and then we end up getting mad and getting into it. It’s not productive.Here is what I propose. Just pretend that whoever you disagree with isn’t there. Don’t respond to what they say. Ignore them. Once they get no response from anyone they will move onto fresh victims.

Big difference between leaving you children asleep in the house while you do sth in the backyard and leaving them alone in a hotel room in a public place in a foreign country with 100s of people that you don’t know wandering around while you go out partying with friends. BIG, BIG difference!
I wouldn’t go out in the backyard with young children in the house without a baby monitor with me anyway - at least that way you can hear if something is going on.
In the USA, these parents would be under investigation for child neglect and could even lose custody of their twins in some states.
I am torn up for that poor little girl. I can’t imagine the hell she is enduring if she is alive at all. I really have lost sympathy for the parents though. Sure, every parent makes mistakes, but that doesn’t mean that when a mistake ends very badly that the parents shouldn’t be held accountable for the outcome. Lots of parents do stupid, neglectful things but that doesn’t mean it’s OK.
The hell that the McCanns is going through doesn’t even approach what that poor little girl is most likely enduring. Shame on them.

What a waste the lot of you are…….Stop blaming and start coming up with a plan to prevent this thing from happening to anyone else….even you. The world needs to get more serious about stopping baby snatchers. Is it so hard for most of you to believe? Read! Do a search on the internet. Look for yourselves. Open your eyes for crying out loud. It looks like it’s easier for the lot of you to point the finger than to realize this is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. Sticking your head in the sand isn’t going to prevent it from happeniong to you, a family member or your neigbor. It’s ignorant for anyone to think that Madeleine was abducted just because she was left alone. Abductions happen when parents are in the home too. When a person wants to snatch a child they will snatch a child.
There is a video of a toddler being snatched in open view in a Mall in Mexico while it’s mother looks into a store front window. It happened that fast. Some woman came along when mom turned her back for a second, snatched the toddler, held it close to her body while she walked away fast and blended into the crowd. The abductor was caught on video. It took seconds.
When someone wants to snatch a child they will snatch a child!!!!
Off topic….Did you know that the #1 baby boys name for this year in the UK is Mohamed? I wonder if there is some master plan like “The boys from Brazil”. Only here all Mohamed babies will be taught to be elite terroists…..little cells waiting to be activated? Frightening!

Everyone does care about Madeleine, but her parents are hopefully on a steep learning curve, but maybe just too late.
