Madeleine McCann Not In Malta Or Morocco
FROM Paulo Reis in Portugal:
Portuguese CID spokesman, about Madeleine abduction: “The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz”
Portuguese authorities have dismissed as groundless all leads on sightings of Madeleine McCann in other countries rather than Portugal, namely in Morroco and Malta, said Polícia Judiciária (PJ), Portuguese CID, spokesman Olegário de Sousa (…) Further investigations are being carried out centered mainly on the area of Praia da Luz itself, said Mr. Olegário de Sousa. «The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz», according to other police source quoted by Diário de Notícias. (…)
Note: Kate and Gerry McCann are innocent.

I just read this report of Jane Tanners account of 3rd May - this is an extract
She stepped into the room and saw the window and shutter were up and Madeleine was missing. Her cuddle cat was on the bed along with the blanket Maddie had been snuggled in.
A source said: Kate ran round the apartment in total panic checking every wardrobe, under the beds, the bathroom, everywhere.
She then ran screaming to the tapas bar telling her friends ‘Madeleine’s gone, Madeleine’s gone, someone’s taken her!’ All hell broke loose. Chaos erupted, everyone got up and ran to the apartment.
As Jane heard the news, she realised the child she had seen nearly an hour earlier being carried off was almost certainly Madeleine
I THOUGHT THAT THE CAT WAS ON A SHELF AND THAT WAS THE REASON KATE KNEW THAT HER DAUGHTER HAD GONE - MAYBE TANNER AND KATE SHOULD GET THEIR STORIES STRAIGHT - I ALSO THOUGHT THAT KATE STAYED AT THE FLAT AND SOMEONE ELSE RAN BACK TO THE BAR - SO MANY MIXED TALES, SO LITTLE CONCRETE FACT - SO MANY - TOO MANY STATEMENTS BY TOO MANY “FRIENDS” WITH FRIENDS LIKE THIS - WHO NEEDS ENEMIES?

Madeleine McCann’s parents hope to be cleared
By Caroline Gammell and Fiona Govan
Last Updated: 5:10pm GMT 28/11/2007
Kate and Gerry McCann believe they will be effectively cleared of any connection with their daughter’s disappearance after tomorrow’s crunch meeting between British and Portuguese forensic scientists, a close friend has said.
The couple, who are official suspects in the case, are convinced that the DNA evidence gathered in connection with Madeleine will show they had nothing to do with what happened.
Telegraph TV: Portuguese experts have flown to Britain over the McCanns’ DNA samples
Five Portuguese investigators flew to the UK today for the face-to-face conference with scientists from the Birmingham-based Forensic Science Service and Leicestershire Police.
They will discuss scientific evidence collected from the Ocean Club apartment in Oraia da Luz where she vanished on May 3 and from the Renault Scenic car hired 25 days later by her parents.
It has been claimed that Madeleine’s hair, bodily fluid and even blood were present in the car, but forensic specialists hired by her parents - who carried out their own investigations - have already concluded that no such traces were found.
The friend said: “We think the Portuguese police are going to have to come away from this and assess very hard where they are.
“They are not going to say they have got it wrong, but they will probably look for a long term exit strategy. We want them to accept that there is no way that the McCanns were in any way involved.
“They should now refocus on the abduction. What we hope is that something positive will come from this meeting.”
The four-strong team from Portugal - thought to include Policia Judiciaria officer Ricardo Praia, two police forensic experts and Francisco Corte Real, the vice president of the National Pathology Institute - touched down at East Midlands airport at midday today.
Paulo Rebelo, the 45-year-old detective leading the investigation, was not among those on the three-day trip. The group will meet five members of the FSS and Detective Superintendent Stuart Prior from Leicestershire Police at an unidentified location on Thursday.
It is the first time all three agencies have met in Britain, more than 200 days after Madeleine disappeared from Praia da Luz in May.
A spokeswoman from Leicestershire Constabulary said: “There is a meeting taking place but it is not due to any specific development.
“There has been excellent dialogue between the British and the Portuguese authorities but they found it was time to have a face-to-face meeting.
“They are not going to be speaking to anyone else while they are in the UK, they are just here for the meeting.”
Kate and Gerry McCann were informed of the trip but the couple will not be involved in the visit.
A source close to the Portuguese inquiry said investigators wanted to find out more about the results and analysis obtained by the FSS.
Local newspaper 24 Horas quoted an insider who said: “The team going to the UK is going to examine everything microscopically. Portuguese police have already indicated they expect the DNA tests to be “indicative” rather than “conclusive” but are said to be frustrated at the delay.
“We cannot understand how the tests which could have been carried out in Portugal in six or seven days have taken almost four months to be concluded,” a source told the paper.
“We are all for international cooperation but there are reasonable deadlines for the conclusions of the tests and in the Madeleine case these have been greatly surpassed.”
In the past, the FSS have defended the time the tests have taken, saying some of the samples were of very poor quality as they were collected so long after Madeleine’s abduction. British scientists travelled to the Algarve in July.
UK sources said the Portuguese group would not visit the laboratories where the DNA work has been carried out.
The McCann’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “We have been informed by Leicestershire Police that a meeting between forensic scientists from Portugal and the Forensic Science Service (FSS) will be taking place in Leicestershire in the near future.
“We understand there is no intention for the McCanns to be interviewed, or indeed anyone else.
“Such a meeting should not be seen as surprising. We do not see it as a significant development.”
The value of the DNA evidence in Madeleine’s case has been confusing, with sources offering differing opinions on its importance.
One theory is that Madeleine was killed in the family apartment and then disposed of in another location.
Portuguese detectives are said to be keen to re-interview the McCanns and the seven friends who dined with them on the night Madeleine vanished, but public prosecutor Jose Magalhaes e Menezes has refused to sanction further moves against the couple.
It has been reported that he is waiting for the full forensic results before deciding whether to pursue a case against them.
Meanwhile, questions were raised over how long they could continue to hunt for their daughter after it emerged that donations to the Find Madeleine campaign had all but dried up.
Almost £1.1m has been raised since Madeleine went missing but more than £300,000 will be spent on the huge contract awarded to Metodo 3, the Spanish detective agency, hired by the McCanns in September.
Hi Mods isn’t it great how individuals who were ‘not wanted’ can overcome such adversity and go on to have fulfilling lives. Sure sounds as though they are very much in demand now! I’ve only got two grandchildren and it’s like bedlam at times, God knows what it’s like with twelve of them. Maybe they operate a relay system or have one of these revolving doors!
Hi Mike ‘5201′ spot on.
Hi Swissmiss another sad story. It just goes on and on and you wonder if it is actually getting worse. I don’t know.
Hi Maggie/Jean/Kirstie wouldn’t it make you sick? He’s enjoying his ‘cushy life’ with whatever that entails - the mind boggles! and his children are left behind with their lousy memories. I wonder if Anthony will know anything about him? I’m sure Anthony has mentioned being a construction worker and I’m sure he said he came from Ulster, although it’s a big place.
As to the McCanns address. I sent flowers there just as Jean did(card), through Interflora, and they must have arrived or I would have notified otherwise. I think I can get the proper address though and will post it soon. I’ll also be sending something to them at Christmas and hope more than anything that Madeleine will be home with them. I’ll also be donating again, on a regular basis, now that I know that money is ‘drying up.’
Hi Jean, I hope MJ is right and this is coming to an end soon. Wouldn’t be great to send darling wee Madeleine her very own card (Christmas or not) xxxx

Forensic scientists will meet this week to discuss DNA evidence in the Madeleine McCann case. Police and McCann family spokespersons have confirmed the meeting between British and Portuguese scientists.
The scientists will discuss DNA evidence found in the holiday apartment where Madeleine went missing and a car the McCann’s rented 25 days after the 4-year-old’s disappearance.
“Such a meeting should not be seen as surprising,” said Clarence Mitchell, a spokesperson for Madeleine’s parents Kate and Gerry McCann. “We do not see it as a significant development.”
OH YERRRRR -RIGHT CLAREY

Hi Maggie
All I did was address my card etc to Kate and Gerry McCann, Rotheley, Leicestershire, and it found them ok. I will be doing the same as you nearer Christmas, but I hope that we will be adding a little something in for Madeleine as well!!! Have been reading all the posts from Matthew James all night, they sure need a lot of concentration, he seems to be convinced that Madeleine is still alive and will soon be returned. I hope and pray he is right.
Welcome back Alice, I wonder how I knew it was you!!!

Swiss miss - Now please dont start banging on about anyone who is religious being automatically good - Have you not heard of Clergy abusing children??? I will be damned if I will agree that just because the McCanns are “religious” they have an amunity from being accused or or actually committing a crime. Also - the main thought apart from abduction is accidental death by parental involvement - Even religion cannot protect you from having an accident - but it does seem that if it is a serious one, with consequences, then the priest is there to hear you talk about it but is sworn to secrecy - OK - you unload your burnden of guilt to the bloke in the cloak behind the curtain - off you go, clear conscience knowing full and well that the bloke will not reveal
November 28th, 2007 at 11:18 pm
But Swissmiss - there is no evidence - other that that of Tanner to suggest that the “artist impression” is fact. I really felt uncomfortable watching Tanner on the Panorama programme - she was techy, ill-at-ease and giving out all the wrong signals as far as being genuine in her statements. She appears to be tormented. Either she is feeling guilty at leaving her own children alone, and dreads the tables being turned on her for neglect, or she is daunted by the McCanns high profile which they have created and is in fear of them and their legal team. I feel a bit sorry for Tanner - I think she wants to tell everything she knows but is afraid of either betraying her mates or the repercussions from the legal beavers or being hauled in by the police and being charged with perverting the course of justice by not immediately revealing all she knows. I am, of course, assuming all of this and it is all in my opinion (mods.)

Hi All,
I find it all so depressing, children the world over suffering. Poor Leonardo is also safe with Riley now.
Thank you all for the kind words, yes life was dreadful- but it’s not anymore!! I have my amazing children- thank God, i have no idea what i’d have done without them all! It can be hard admitting to a past life so horrible- people do judge but i felt able to tell you guys.xx means a lot.
Annie, i thnk that you can rest assured that the Madeleine Fund is not paying for M3. Brian Kennedy is doing that from his own pocket. I think it is a good thing it was set up because one day when we find out what happened to Madeleine then this fund will still be there to help children like Ben Needham and many many other children who are missing. To parents who do not have the resources or contacts the McCs have it can only be seen to be a good thing, don’t you think? The fact that the Fund is controlled by other people should be a reassurance to you that it is not being abused. IF one day they are found to be irrefutibly (or confess) involved in this then yes, i agree that the money should be handed back- not sure how feasible that would be but i do agree with that- however i think you’d find for the most part people would want the Fund to be kept going to help other children as it would not benefit Madeleines parents in any way. But like Brian Ladd who collected all that money the offer was made to return it and ithink the decent thing would’ve been to donate to Madeleines fund or another Charity as voted by his readers/contributors. I don’t know if he did, i feel more outraged by him right now to be honest!
Any news on the PJ being over here anyone?

Hi all:
And it still is happening… this is in the US again! :(-
County police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old boy on Tuesday as a homicide.
Police said they found Leonardo Giovanni Sendejas unresponsive in a bedroom of a home in the 3600 block of Bel Pre Road after someone called 911 from the residence and hung up. Police said the boy’s 18-year-old mother was home at the time.
The child died at a hospital. His body has been sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.

Hi all
You can see the sick ugly evil filthy b****** face on the link at the end of this post.
EVIL dad David Reid belts out the words to a Bob Marley song: “Don’t worry about a thing…every little thing gonna be all right”.
Last week the News of the world issued an alert for vile Reid after they reported how he had abused his own children, sisters Mandy, Julie, Joanne and Sheree and their brother David over a period of 16 years
With astonishing courage they overcame adversity to counsel other young victims.
The brave victims backed our Sarah’s Law crusade to give parents the right to know if convicted paedophiles are living in their area.
So BEWARE if you are planning a holiday in Portugal with your kids, Reid is living a cushy life in a family resort ithere.
Holidaymakers and ex-pats in the small town of Carvoeiro, near Albufeira, are unaware of the sordid past of the crooner they know affectionately as Irish Dave.
Warped Reid, who was jailed for three years for indecent assaults and gross indecency, has the run of the town because he came out of prison BEFORE the Sex Offenders’ Register was launched and does not have to register his whereabouts.
The Belfast-born joiner does the occasional day’s work on local building sites but spends most mornings in bed and sunny afternoons on his balcony overlooking the ocean.
He is a regular at popular local pubs The Round-Up Saloon and Jailhouse where he plays guitar and sings country and reggae favourites.
On nights off from gigs he befriends expats and tourists over cigarettes and beer at the neon-lit town centre bars that pull in punters with happy hours and karaoke.
This area is home to hundreds of British expats and thousands of tourists flock to the town every year with young children.
The chain-smoking Ulsterman lives alone in a first-floor apartment on a stunning clifftop above a sandy cove called Paradise Beach.
One local said: “It’s packed in the summer when the weather’s good and the children are on school holidays.
“Convicted paedophiles like him will have temptation in front of them every day at the height of the season.”
But Reid, 56, insists: “I’m not a menace to anyone any more. That’s all in the past. I just want to get on with my life here and be left alone.”
Chillingly he refuses to accept the full gravity of his crimes. “I never touched any of my kids,” he claims. Sorry
“I exposed myself to them—and only to the girls, not my boy.
“I still can’t find any explanation for what I did but maybe it was the alcohol. (So get a job in a pub, Dave!!–Webmaster) I’d like to contact my kids and tell them I’m sorry for what I did but I just can’t find the strength.
“I want to stay here in Portugal. I don’t want to be on the run all my life.”
But his failure to admit he assaulted his children just adds to their never-ending pain.
Mandy, speaking on behalf of the family, said: “We are glad the News of the World has exposed his whereabouts so families travelling there will know what sort of person he is.
“It makes it easier for us to know he is nowhere near us.
“For years our father has destroyed us. He continues to get on with his life forgetting the crimes against us, his own children.
“It is so frustrating as he continues to play down the seriousness of what he has done. This is a classic case of a typical paedophile denial.
“These men think of nothing but themselves and are a danger to society.
“It shows that a change in the law is needed imminently.”

Hi swissmiss-5206
I asked the same question, but I don’t think these ppl have just come forward now. I have read that they all went to the pj but were not taken seriously by them. This could all be gobbledegook, but the fact that the pj haven’t been looking for Madeleine actively for a very long time ,due to them thinking the parents killed her then hid her in the fridge while they went out for dinner, it could be true.
I can’t believe I even wrote that - its such a stupid theory its unreal!!!!
As to the ‘fund’ it was set up to help find Madeline and to assist the family financially where the need be and to bring the ppl who took Madeleine to justice. It’s all there on Madeleine website. I give to the fund regularly and I will continue to give even after Madeleine is found because then it will be used to help find other missing children. It’s a great fund that is being used wisely and the McCann’s have no power over the release of any money-it’s just awful that a lovely little girl had to suffer to get such a fund up and running! The McCanns wont give up until they find their daughter and neither will we!

HI Maggie and all:
I have to write posts individually because I cannot remember what everyone said in every posts!!! - I truly am sorry to hear about each and everyone of you of what you had to go thru in your personal life. Must not have been easy. - Just broke my heart reading the posts…
If Maddie really were dead Anthony, wouldn’t there have been more leads pointing towards that ?? Whoever did it, knew exactly what they were getting into and probably abducted more kids.. saddly!!
November 28th, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Isla-5199
This lady sounds like a nice caring person-NOT!
I think when ppl make comments about the fact that Madeleine is a white British girl they are no more then racist bigots!……….does it really matter if a child is British, black, white, brown or yellow or from timbucktoo!
And the comment about Portuguese children going missing and we don’t have this, well they should be ashamed of themselves for allowing these missing children to be just another anonymous statistics!
Swissmiss, I agree. Why dont ppl just give their children up for adoption if they hate them so much they have to kill or abuse them!! There are some real eveil ppl out there.

Maggie I think you have to try to get into the ‘mindset’ of people who regard children as ‘things’
There’s the expression you hear mothers the world over saying ‘the child has a mind of its own’ in shocked awe! Of course they do.
The best parent I ever knew was one who said childrearing consists of two things: stopping yourself from murdering the such and wich and stopping it from killing itself - her 4 children grew up to be very healthy intelligent and happy adults, and gave her 12 grandchildren to date

Hi ANthony:
#5203- Have you thought of becoming an author someday??? I bet you would write some very good detective books!!!!!
November 28th, 2007 at 5:54 pm
Hi Annie1:
I understand your point about the money concern… BUT… - being so religious as they are … God forbid that they had anything to do with her abduction. Why being bothered flying all the way to Rome to meet the Pope… (unless it is to confess sins!), all the media attn. the fund money, hiring PI meeting with PM etc. etc. etc…. Can you only imagine the world scandal ??? I truly don’t think now they had anything to do with it. And all of these so called sightings I bet were started from someone that wants to keep the traces far away so they can move her on. What I don’t like about that picture of the drawing is, the way the child is being carried away. Unless they used gas mask on her so that she doesn’t realize where she is or with whom she is… and why do these people come only forward now??
November 28th, 2007 at 5:47 pm
Hi all
Hi Kirstie-5186
‘I am not looking for any kind of sympathy because i don’t deserve any. Me, the adult had a choice to get out, and i didn’t for long enough’
Don’t blame yourself for this; it’s NOT always that easy to get out of an abusing relationship. It’s only VERY easy for the person on the outside looking in. The main thing is your out of it now and I’m happy you’re living a happy life. I also think you, Isla and Lauren are very brave for telling your story on here. I remember Tracy (nuttywithit) telling her story and boy did she get some cutting remarks from the ‘parasite’ that was around at that time.
Hi Isla, yes the photo is beautiful. If Madeleine is not found before Christmas it’s going to be a rotten time for all.
I remember ages ago one of the regular posters sent some money direct to the McCann’s home, I think it could have been Jean? Jean if it was you did you just sent it to the address that we all know or did you have a FULL postal address. I’m wondering if the cheque got there or not. I’m just thinking that I would like to send a little something for the children, just to let Kate and Gerry know that there are still millions of ppl out there still supporting them. And let’s face it they will be feeling the pinch financially what with not working for nearly seven months.
November 28th, 2007 at 5:43 pm
I find comments like ’swaggering and strutting about the streets’ really really childish, it’s like they can’t find any more bad things to say so they resort this this! It’s pathetic and unprofessional.
November 28th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
if madeline mccann is dead then lets burn playa del luz to the ground until it is a big pile of ashes, but i do still think that she is still alive…
build a bonfire big and high
on the top put goggle eye
light a match and then stand clear
and watch him burn from over here.
i just thought i would share that with you,,,,
if she was taken out by boat would they not have gone the other way towards france as they may be algarve people who move from french to portougese algarve,
i will be bringing a little more than a strange ciggerate with me to playa del luz,i tried to stop smoking with the chemist ciggerates that they sell but they were horrible so i got 20 bensons and had a cup of tea,
i do not care what the mccanns spend the money as i would give you all the tea in china for a chance to grab madeline by the scruff of the neck and run with her to england,
i have no interest in the mccanns but i have a lot of interest in the man i call beige trousers who is known in playa del luz.
i have said this before all you need is someone who knows what happened to her to tell you where she went and you are one step away from getting her back so let loose the straw dogs the sooner the better.
small prayer offered up for her safe return.
November 28th, 2007 at 4:28 pm

November 28th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
Everyone that has posted on this forum from day one have criticised the actions of the McCann’s and their friends for leaving their children alone while enjoying themselves at the tapas bar,but to suggest that they had anything to do with her disappearance is wrong.
if they are found to be innocent those who pointed out in reasonable arguments that they thought they were guilty shouldn’t appologise either.
Having opinions based on facts isn’t wrong. But making mindless, nasty comments based on media speculation is what I object to. The lynch mob mentality and evil trolling by some on here is what makes my blood boil not decent debate based on facts.
November 28th, 2007 at 3:58 pm
Because - Swissmiss - the fund was set up to help Find Madeleine - and it seems that it is being used to line the pockets of extortionately priced private detectives - who, in my opinion, will come up with nothing more than mere speculation - If there was a chance of them finding Madeleine, they would have done so no - 2 months. The money would have been better spent accommodating you and Isla in Portugal for the 2 months - I am sure that you would have done a bit more delving than they seem to be. It is a waste of money which was given in good faith. And, of course should the parents be convicted with regard to Madeleines disappearance, it would be money gained through fraud and should not be used JUST IN CASE THE ONES WHO GAVE IT WANT IT BACK. The McCanns have made a business out of their daughter - so why does it go so much against the grain when a business attitute dares to question the use of the fund. Someone has to cut the sentiment and look at the whole picture realistically. OK tell me I should burn in hell for such comments - but when the queue forms I am sure the devil will have bigger fish to fry than me.
November 28th, 2007 at 3:20 pm
Hi all
I was just thinking that from the time that the McCanns hired the car on the 28th May until the 12th June they were constantly touring - Rome, Morocco, Germany, Spain and so on. All of the articles state that they flew to these places. This means that the hired car was sitting outside their apartment sometimes for days on end - on at least one occasion they were away for three days. When they were gone family members such as Trish McCann watched the twins, but I don’t know if anyone else came over to help out as I can’t get that data from G. M’s blogs anymore. Anyway, the main point is that DNA could have easily been planted during that time.
This is an old article relating to Murat’s car hire.
SICK CAR-HIRE POSTER ADDS TO MISERY
Robert Murat hired a car from Auto Rent III in Praia Da Luz from 12-15 May.
Monday May 21,2007
A SICK poster mocking the disappearance of their missing daughter caused fresh heartache for the McCanns yesterday.
As Kate and Gerry McCann attended morning mass, they were confronted by pictures of their daughter, with the words: “Mummy help me.”
The poster has been put up in the Auto Rent lll car-hire office, which is directly opposite the church in Praia da Luz.
It was there that suspect Robert Murat rented a Hyundai Getz car two days before he was picked up by police – even though he already had two vehicles at his disposal. Staff at the office failed to take a note of his mileage when he dropped the vehicle back three days later, so it was impossible to tell how far he had driven.
Yesterday, hire-firm worker Maria Rocio refused to take the poster down, despite complaints by locals who have joined in the hunt for Madeleine.
She insisted: “It is not coming down. We wouldn’t take it down, even if the girl’s family asked us to.”
When told that the words written on the poster were in poor taste, she said, defiantly: “It says ‘Mummy help me’ because those are the words the little girl will be saying now.”
She added: “It is only because they are British that such a fuss is being made. There are Portuguese children that have disappeared and we do not have this.
Hi Kirstie
I was really sorry to hear that you had such a hard (hellish) time with your ex, but pleased to know that you managed to get out of that situation and have well and truly moved on. Good for you, girl and all the best to you, the children and that new man of yours. x
