Madeleine McCann Not In Malta Or Morocco
FROM Paulo Reis in Portugal:
Portuguese CID spokesman, about Madeleine abduction: “The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz”
Portuguese authorities have dismissed as groundless all leads on sightings of Madeleine McCann in other countries rather than Portugal, namely in Morroco and Malta, said Polícia Judiciária (PJ), Portuguese CID, spokesman Olegário de Sousa (…) Further investigations are being carried out centered mainly on the area of Praia da Luz itself, said Mr. Olegário de Sousa. «The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz», according to other police source quoted by Diário de Notícias. (…)
Note: Kate and Gerry McCann are innocent.

Maddie: Portuguese police ‘came within an inch of jailing Kate McCann’

Suspect: Portuguese police reportedly came within an inch of jailing Kate McCann
Police came within an inch of jailing Kate McCann over her daughter’s disappearance, a new book has sensationally claimed.
Detectives questioning the mother allegedly wanted to charge her with “homicide with eventual intent” - a crime that allows a suspect to be remanded in custody until their trial.
But the night before she was interrogated for the second day, the public prosecutor in the case advised the detective then in charge - Goncalo Amaral - that they did not have enough evidence, it was claimed.
The revelation comes as one of Portugal’s top crime reporters states that if the McCanns were Portuguese they would be in jail by now.
Hernani Carvalho suggested that the couple, who are suspects in their daughter’s disappearance, only escaped custody as they were given privileged treatment because they are British.
He said: “Many people are up in arms with the privileged treatment that was given to the McCann couple. If they were Portuguese they would have been in jail by now.”
His comments follow the publication of a new book called A Culpa dos McCann - the guilt of the McCanns.
Yes, and we all know what happened to that other woman that had her child abducted.!!!Beaten up and made to confess.

I agree totally, m3 have 10 days to prove they are not talking bull, and like you say no one will employ them if they fail to bring Madeleine home. Isn’t it wonderful that the McCann’s have people like Bridget O’Donnell to support them. They are going to need even more support during the Christmas. If Madeleine is not home for Christmas day it will be the worst day ever for millions of people but especially Madeleine and her family.
Kirstie, thanks for clearing that up, I’ve been on the night nurse all week and thought I was going dolally (sp) tap!
Has anyone heard how Isla is doing?
December 15th, 2007 at 10:18 am
Just checking to see if M3 have found Madeleine yet????No? hmmmm well they’d better get their finger out if they want to get her home by Christmas they’ve got just over a week to do it!!
I hope this isn’t true about them charging all this extra money, and what the hell is this, they need extra in order to get her home by Christmas???? talk about holding THEM to ransome. If they are extorting money or fail to find her after all their hype they will have to go into hiding i should think. There will be a lot of very unhappy people. But let’s hope to God they are not blowing smoke up their own butts and get her home!!
December 15th, 2007 at 1:10 am
Oh Jean that would be just too awful if they were conning the McCann’s. Everything seems to have been against Madeleine being found and when M3 came onto the scene there was then hope. I pray they are genuine and that they are correct in saying Madeleine will home before Christmas.
December 15th, 2007 at 12:36 am
I’ve just read this on the Brian Ladd web site …. I sincerely hope it isn’t true!!!!
Brian please do not give my email address. Metodo3 has never found a person, they only deal with corporate fraud, extortion and money laundering cases. They are demanding 5 times more money per day than has been reported in the papers!!! They also say they need an additional £ 200,000 in order to find Maddy by Christmas. There is not enough in the Madeline fund to cover their bill, and when the McCann’s can no longer pay, they will cancel their contract for non-payment

Hi All
I have just read the article in The Guardian by Bridget O’Donnell, the partner of Jeremy Wilkins, and it has really upset me. This is a quote from it. ….
Throughout all this, I have always believed that Gerry and Kate McCann are innocent. When they were made suspects, when they were booed at, when one woman told me she was ‘glad’ they had ‘done it’ because it meant that her child was safe, I began to write this article - because I was there, and I believe that woman is wrong. There were no drug-fuelled ’swingers’ on our holiday; instead there was a bunch of ordinary parents wearing Berghaus and worrying about sleep patterns. Secure in our banality, none of us imagined we were being watched. One group made a disastrous decision; Madeleine was vulnerable and was chosen. But in the fact of such desperate audacity, it could have been any one of us. And when I stroke my daughter’s hair, or feel her butterfly lips on my cheek, I do so in the knowledge of what might have been. But our experience is nothing, an irrelevance, next to the McCanns’ unimaginable grief. Their lives will always be touched by this darkness, while the true cuplrit may never be brought to light.
So my heart goes out to them, Gerry and Kate, the couple we remember from our Portuguese holiday. They had a beautiful daughter, Madeleine, who played and danced with ours at the kiddie club. That’s who we remember.
….. How sad is that. How on earth can anyone call them so many names when they are suffering so much. You should be ashamed of yourselves. They have made a terrible, terrible mistake, and by God are they and Madeleine paying for it. I hope to God those private investigators are onto something, because their reputation will certainly go down the pan if it is all hype. They may as well pack up their business right now if they are playing to the media, because I am sure no one will employ them again if it is all lies.

Thanks for that message Lyne
Post-5517
Am I mistaken but doesn’t Madeleine have a brother and sister and NOT ‘brothers’ as was implied in post 5517?
December 14th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
Lynn, thanks for letting us know.
Please tell her we’re all thinking of her and to stay strong.
December 14th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Hi all
Just to let you know Isla has been in touch and although I can’t say what her problem is, it is not that her niece has died. I am sure she appreciates all your kind thoughts to her at the moment.
December 14th, 2007 at 5:28 pm
Kirstie, just as i suspected. You are not someone who would give scum a window of opportunity. The case of the little girl snatched out of a bath, very tragic and absolutely disgusting. Just shows the kind of world we live in, where its not safe even to leave a back door open even when you are in the house. He was an opportunist, he heard a little girl splashing around and enjoying her bath, and snatched her. What a vile human being he is. Made me think once that had happened. Now if i am not in the same room as my children in the summer, the back door stays well and truly locked.
As with all criminals, they will take the easy option. Madeleine was the easy option for someone who may have been watching, as her and her brothers were left alone, routinely. Making it easy for someone to take her. Very sad.
December 14th, 2007 at 3:49 pm
No Lauren, i do not leave my doors open, and i am not giving any sort of message to any kind of scum, or anyone else for that matter. I am saying that this was a well planned abduction and she was picked out from the many children who may have been watched and photographed. bearing in mind this most likely would’ve been a ’spotter’ taking the pictures and showing them to whoever ordered her abduction. S/he chose her. This was most certainly not an oppertunist who just wandered by and thought, hmmm wonder if this door is open and the parents are out….
I hadn’t heard of anyone saying or implying the shutters looked to be broken purposely, i have no idea.
I am pretty damned sure that IF peadophiles too k Madeleine then they would’ve gone all out to get her, however they could, she was the chosen one so to speak. I refer back to the case mentioned here before, maybe you will remember it from the news, the little girl abducted from her bath while her mother was sorting her clothes in the next room. How the hell would the bastard have known the back door was open??? he probably just took a chance, but he watched, waited and pounced, window of oppertunity, 1 or 2 minuets. The point i am making is if they have someone in their sights they will just ‘risk’ it just to get what they want.
I am sick to the back teeth of the disgusting animals who walk among our children, i will never (or have never) do what the McCs did on holiday or anywhere and i do not leave my doors open, nor am i resigned to the fact that should scum want to take my child then i am powerless. Am i hell. My house is protected and so are my children. By me. I will always make every conceivable effort to ensure the safety of my kids.
I don’t lay down for anybody love. especially where my kids are concerned.
December 14th, 2007 at 2:52 pm
Kirstie, there is no evidence that anyone went through the window. The police even suggested it looked like it had been broken deliberately to somehow imply someone had gotton in through the window. If someone was watching the McCanns apartment, how hard would it have been for them to have seen that anyone checking on the children, never used keys to get in?
December 14th, 2007 at 2:47 pm
Kirstie, i dont agree that one way or another they would have taken her. They were watching lots of children, they chose the one whos parents went out night after night and left the children alone. If we all took that attitude, that paedophiles will take our children no matter what we do to keep them safe - what the hell are we saying? What sort of message are we giving this scum? Responsible parenting isnt leaving your children alone, in an unlocked apartment. We live in a world, where there are people, esp in holiday resorts, watching our children, waiting for the parent who perhaps hasnt got their eye on their child, waiting to pounce. We owe our children so much more than for parents to be thinking they are fighting a losing battle against paedophiles. We owe it to our kids, to do whatever we can to keep them safe. Kirstie, do you leave all your doors unlocked, because what can you do if someone is watching one of your children? Is that the attitude that you have? I bet my life, it isnt.

Just to let you know that I wont be posting for a while or whatever. Something terrible has happened to us, the worst ever thing in my whole life, and I just pray that God gets us through it.
my condolences for the death of your niece if i am correct,i will say a small prayer for her and your family, try to be strong and i hope i hear from you soon.
small prayer for isla and her family in this tragic time,
small prayer for madeline mccann and her family,
December 14th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Hi Isla; due to your circumstances you probably will not read this, but just in case you do, I wanted to tell you that I was saddened by your news that something terrible has happened in your life. Whatever it is, I am thinking and praying for you. I hope you will find strength to get you through the tough times. Take care and love to you and your family.
Hi Jean; I hope Gordon Brown takes notice of your letter, it was well written. Gordon Brown is the British leader, and a British girl needs help. I understand that Mr Brown is in a difficult position and may be wary of helping the suspects in the case, but a small defenceless, 4 year old child needs finding. What ever we feel about her parents, the issue here is helping Madeleine to be taken away from whatever she suffering and bringing her back to the people she loves the most (her own family) Jean and a lot of others on here when Madeleine is found at least you can look back and say you did all you could to try and help.
Hi Mike a very interesting and informative post (5503) the M3 could have known all this for some time now, they are saying they hope Madeleine will be home for Christmas, and just need proof to give to the police, this is what bothers me, Will the police do anything about it? As far as we know they have not followed anything so far, and have critasized the M3 for their work, so they will probably just ignore what they give them and laugh in their faces. The M3 will then have come to a brick wall. Pray she Madeleine be home for Christmas.
December 14th, 2007 at 11:55 am
Lauren,
I understand your frustration, i really do. I would never have left my children alone at any time. Leaving the door open was a dreadful thing to do also, but as Mikes’ post has just pointed out ever more clearly they were being watched and madeleine was picked out. No, i absoloutley do not condone what they did but someone, it would seem picked her out and made sure they knew what her movements were. One way or another they were taking her, and sadly they did just that. Access to her was made easier because of her parents but i do beleive that they would’ve got to her somehow. I have no idea how, if she does survive this will she ever be the same again. I have these images in my mind, where she is found and somewhere down the line some therapist is telling her “It’s not your fault….” at some time in her life she will be asking well, who’s fault is it then?? and she may well point her own finger at her parents, the very people who shoul’ve been there to protect her, that, to me, is punishment in itself for Kate and Gerry. They will never get over the guilt of any of this, and God willing she is found safe and returned to them they will have to live with their dreadful decisions. Their lives are changed forever. None more so than Madeleines. It is her i have the deepest fear for, and the one who is completely innocent.
Just one more thing, it strikes me that the abductor had no idea the door was unlocked anyway if s/he went in through the window. They were going in for her regardless and knew who their target was. Someone must defiantly have been watching to see if the parents were there and gave someone the heads up to go in.

Madeleine witness breaks her silence: ‘I am certain that Kate McCann is innocent’
Last updated at 10:16am on 14th December 2007
Gerry McCann told a fellow tourist in the minutes before Madeleine vanished he would never have left her alone if he had not been on holiday with friends.
Bridget O’Donnell, who befriended Kate and Gerry McCann while staying at the same resort, today broke her silence to declare the couple innocent.
She described Mr McCann as “relaxed and friendly” at a time when police have claimed Madeleine was already dead in the apartment.
Ms O’Donnell, who worked as a producer on BBC1’s Crimewatch, revealed that she had debated with the McCanns the childcare arrangements at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz and recalled admiring them for leaving their children to sleep in their apartment as they ate at a tapas restaurant nearby.
“I admired them, in a way, for not being paranoid parents, but I decided that our apartment was too far off even to contemplate it,” Ms O’Donnell said.
Ms O’Donnell also told for the first time of a crucial encounter between her partner Jeremy Wilkins and Mr McCann just a few minutes before Madeleine went missing.
Mr Wilkins, a television producer, was taking his baby son for a walk in a buggy to try to get him to sleep when he bumped into Mr McCann outside their holiday apartment. Though they were not part of the McCann’s group of friends - whom they nicknamed “the Doctors” - Mr Wilkins had played tennis with Mr McCann.
Madeleine vanished on May 3, turning the McCanns’ lives to horror
The chance meeting on the night Madeleine vanished has been subject to endless speculation and is critical in confirming timings.
Ms O’Donnell, writing in today’s Guardian, said: “Gerry was on his way back from checking on his children and the two men stopped to have a chat. They talked about daughters, fathers, families.
“Gerry was relaxed and friendly. They discussed their baby-sitting dilemmas at the resort and Gerry said that he and Kate would have stayed in too if they had not been on holiday in a group.”
Ms O’Donnell told how she and her partner were in their holiday apartment when Madeleine was discovered missing at 10pm on 3 May by Mrs McCann, and how they were woken in the night by a friend of the McCanns to help with the search.
She criticised police for basic errors, saying that one officer did not appear to have a notebook but wrote their details instead on a scrap of paper, and that he mistook a photocopied picture of Madeleine which she had been given during the search for a photograph of her own daughter.
“My heart sank for the McCanns,” she said when reflecting on the quality of the police investigation.
Ms O’Donnell said that two days after Madeleine vanished the appearance of the McCanns - later made official suspects - was in complete contrast to their relaxed manner even in the minutes before the alarm was raised.
“The physical transformation of these two human beings was sickening… Kate’s back and shoulders, her hands, her mouth had reshaped themselves into the angular-manifestation of a silent scream,” she said, reinforcing claims that Mrs McCann could not be implicated in her daughter’s disappearance because even an actor could not fake such anguish.
Ms O’Donnell also dispelled conspiracy theories, declaring: “There were no drug-fuelled ’swingers’ on our holiday - there was a bunch of ordinary parents worrying about sleep patterns.”
Ms O’Donnell added: “Throughout all this I have believed that Gerry and Kate McCann are innocent.
“Secure in our banality, none of us imagined we were being watched. One group made a disastrous decision; Madeleine was vulnerable and was chosen. But in the face of such desperate audacity, it could have been any of us.”
December 14th, 2007 at 9:52 am
Re 5506, Jean, i understand what you say about other parents going to the MW resort and doing the same thing. Reading back through past posts on here before, i think i am right in saying that most if not all, who post on here, said they would never have done what the Mcs did. Yet for some reason a section of the population went to a strange country and felt it ok to leave their children completely alone in the apartments. I dont know how many would have left the doors to their apartments unlocked? But regardless of something tragic happening as has with Madeleine, anything could happen to children when left alone. Isla said before, relating to this, just a child waking up, upset and no one being there to comfort them. I just dont get why people would go on holiday and think it was ok to do this. Mark Warner cannot guarantee a childs safety regards anything happening inside the apartment, to something happening from outside the apartment. So why as a parent, would you just do something, cos everyone else seems to be doing it? To me, it just beggars belief it really does.
December 14th, 2007 at 8:51 am
Jeannie,
I know what you mean about M3 and all the false hope they have generated so far. I do not think, for operational reasons they would be giving out so much information if they were that close to rescueing her or having her captors brought to book.
A thought came to me earlier when i was out with the dog, how is it they say they have criminals and mafia on their payroll to help find Madeleine?? surely if someone was willing to give/find out information on Madeleines whereabouts then they would’ve snapped up the almost £2m reward money instead?? That in itself doesn’t quite tally. Hell mend them if they are taking the McC’s for the money, i wouldn’t like to think so but they sure as heck haven’t delivered her home safely either.
Madeleine, sweet baby- we are all still looking for you and praying you will be home in time for christmas with Mummy Daddy Sean and Amelie. we will never stop looking!
December 14th, 2007 at 2:10 am
Hi,
Jean you are so right! (5506) Excellent letter to the PM!
Hi Kirstie,
As far the M3 goes, haven’t we heard this before? I do not have any faith in them. Why would they announce this for all to know? If they had something, they would not tell till all was said and done. I fear they are taking the McCanns for the money. How sad, just more vultures! at the expense of the little girl’s life. Shame on them if they are blowing smoke. Hope and pray I am wrong about them.
Still praying for Madeleine’s safe return and hopefully before Christmas.
December 13th, 2007 at 11:57 pm
Hi Kat
Thanks for your moral support. I want Gordon Brown to assist in any way that he can to find Madeleine. The issue of her parents ‘neglect’ can be dealt with in the months ahead after she has been found. Although I still maintain that there must have been hundreds of parents who have visited the Mark Warner complexes and have done the same thing as the McCanns. Unfortunately for them Madeleine was the one child who has been taken. All I am concerned about is that our ‘experts’ should still be in close contact with the Portuguese authorities, and they should work together in the search for Madeleine. Nothing more. Madeleine has done nothing wrong, she is the most important person in all of this, she is the one the Government should be helping find. It has nothing to do with the actions of her parents. We have not been on here for the past seven+ months because of Kate and Gerry McCann, we have been on here because of Madeleine.
Quote from the Mayor of Praia da Luz …. ‘ Who knows if Maddie’s body doesn’t turn up tomorrow? It would never be good to find a body but it would allow closure - an end and a solution to this mystery. I’d like to make an appeal to the British police to help our police as much as possible. There has been so much interest, especially on a diplomatic level.
This case must be solved. It cannot be allowed to remain a mystery, a stain on our community. I speak for myself and all my parishioners when I say that.’
……. He is asking our police to help solve the mystery of Madeleine McCann - God willing that will be soon. I think we all now want closure on this, hopefully with the safe return of Madeleine. I really do not regret sending my letter to Gordon Brown, because he has to know the extent of feeling that this case still holds.

I join with all the others and hope that you and your family have the strength to get through this crisis. I hope that you will be back with us again soon, but in the meantime I send you my love.
December 13th, 2007 at 10:36 pm
hi Everyone,
Oh God it makes me feel sick. I hope M3 aren’t blowing hot air again, but in another sense i hope they are iykwim??? They can talk the talk but can they walk the walk?? Because from where i’m standing they don’t seem to have done so well thus far. Madeleine is still missing and they are making sweeping statements about knowing this that and the other….again, just shut up and get on with it because they are just giving whoever has her a head start. There is no way they are going to hang around and wait for M3 or the authorities to find them. How do they have proof of her movements after she was abducted?? I wonder what it is they know.
My own impatient opinion is if they think they have names and addresses then what are they waiting for?? steam in there and rescue her, stuff waiting on the Police, where she could languish even longer at the hands of the worst most vilest kind of scum. Please please let this be it!!
Isla, i am sorry you are going through something so terrible, i hope you do keep in touch with some of us here by email if you cannot post. I wish you and your family love and peace. Please take care.

Spanish newspaper Metro. Thursday Dec.13th
“We talk of certainties because we know which group may have her or could have kidnapped her to sell her on to others.”
The Times has been told that the agency believes that a resident of Praia da Luz had been hired to identify suitable girls for abduction. The man is alleged to have been seen taking pictures of little blonde girls in the town for several days before Madeleine was abducted. The “spotter” is then alleged to have monitored Madeleine’s movements and discovered that her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, left their children alone each evening when they went out to eat.
It is claimed that a second man was paid to abduct Madeleine from her bed and to transport her to a gang. Mr Marco said: “In principle, we’re talking about paedophiles. It’s not a kidnap carried out for economic reasons.”

Well Lynn, let’s hope that Metodo 3 aren’t just spinning yet another little tale……it seems like we’ve been hearing this story for over a month now - ‘they’re closing in’, ‘we know who has her’, oh to be honest it drives me crazy.
If Madeleine isn’t home for Christmas or at least by the start of the New Year I won’t believe any future statements from M3.
Chris and Melanie, whilst I agree with what you are saying about the involvement of our Government in the investigation we’ve got to remember Madeleine still has a right as a child to be protected and found and our Government does have a duty to fulfil. If our Government can work together with the Portuguese then this cannot be of detriment to the case or indeed relations between the two countries. The way I see it is we wouldn’t be asking the Government to be ‘helping the McCanns’ but to assist and support the Portuguese in the investigation into the disappearance of poor Maddie…..after all she’s paramount in all this.
Jean, I commend you in your interminable campaign for Madeleine, you are clearly passionate about Madeleine as are the majority of regulars on here so never give up your fight…I think what you’re doing is marvellous.

Madeleine will be home for Christmas, says PI
By Nick Allen
Last Updated: 6:26pm GMT 13/12/2007
A private investigator hired to find Madeleine McCann said he knows who took her and the missing girl will hopefully be back with her parents by Christmas.
More on the disappearance of Madeleine McCann
Mr Marco said he has proof Madeleine is still alive
Francisco Marco said he believes Madeleine was taken by a paedophile ring, that she may be held in north Africa and that evidence was being collated so arrests could be made.
Mr Marco is director general of Metodo 3, a Barcelona-based detective agency hired by Kate and Gerry McCann in September to find their daughter.
He has previously travelled to Morocco to investigate a sighting reported there of a girl who was said to resemble the missing four-year-old.
“We know who kidnapped her, we believe she is in an area not very far from the Iberian peninsula and north Africa and we have a fairly certain idea of who she is with,” Mr Marco said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Metro.
“I cannot say who she is with because we are putting together conclusive proof we can present to the authorities so they can proceed with their arrests.
“God willing, I hope she’ll be back with her parents before Christmas.”
It is not the first time the agency has claimed it is close to finding Madeleine.
Last month Mr Marco claimed the agency was “100 percent sure” Madeleine was alive.
Mr Marco told Metro: “We have proof of her movements after her kidnap and we know she was alive the day after her disappearance. We are not certain she left Portugal.
“I talk of certainties because we know which group may have her or could have kidnapped her to then sell her on to others.
“One of the things that makes us believe Madeleine is alive is that every day she’s worth more to them.”
Mr Marco rejected any suggestion that the McCanns could be involved in their daughter’s disappearance.
They have been declared suspects by Portuguese police.
Mr Marco said: “You only have to spend five minutes with them to realise they’ve got nothing to do with this.”
Metodo 3 has a six month contract with the McCanns and has vowed to find Madeleine before that runs out in March.
The McCann family spokesman Clarence Mitchell said they have “absolute confidence” in the agency.

Chris 5498 Agree totally. Nothing more i can add to what you have already posted.
