SwissMiss, i am a very happy person. What i dont like on here, is the mutual back patting when either one of you core users, writes a post singing Kate and Gerry McCanns praises for neglecting their children and the subsequant letters, gifts etc you send in support of this. It seems to me too many people jumping on this bandwagon because its in the news. What about all the thousands of missing children? Abused children? Homeless children? Starving children? What will they be getting this Christmas? Anyone writing letters about that? Sending gifts and wishing them well for Christmas? No i thought not, and why? Cos theres no kudos on that is there?

there is no core user as you put it all the time.. just some people who have got to known each other thru Maddie and hoping that she will get to her family. And yes her parents made a mistake .. themselves and esp. Maddie are paying the price for their negligence………. and no , I’m not in this for anything.. just wanting Maddie not to miss out on school anymore etc…

SwissMiss, if only a few more people on here would take your lead. Ive seen from your past posts on here a lot of you chat on msn, which from the way you all gang up on anyone new who comes on here, makes a lot of sense. Maybe you core users, yes i know, so 3 months ago, should restrict your activities to msn and give some fresh blood on here a chance, rather than the same old, poor Kate and Gerry every five seconds.

SwissMiss, ask myself what question? If you are saying i think i have some kind of self importance in all of this, i dont at all, nor do i imply that i have. I think anyone wanting to verify that ridiculous story claiming to be from CNN, could have done that themselves very easily, without having to involve a ‘close source’ A close source to this investigation could be absolutely anyone, as its been so badly managed. Also, are you looking for some kind of pat on the back for sending a gift to Madeleine McCann? Most people would have done that without having to shout about it. But i guess if its done for praise rather than from the heart. You would need to let the world know.

Why is he supposidly scared of the McCanns Private Investigators if he is telling the truth then the Portugese police will protect him, what makes me think this is a lot of hot air, my hopes were raised yesterday of a breakthrough but like so many time in this case they are dashed just as easily, I won’t hold my breath that this waiter is their trump card, like so many other things they have relied on in the past that turn out to be nothing, I wonder why he has gone into hiding strange ?

THE key witness in the Madeleine McCann inquiry was in hiding last night after fleeing Portugal.
Police have sworn the tapas bar waiter to secrecy over his testimony and know where he is holed up.
But pals say he is terrified his identity is about to be revealed and claim he is also scared of British and Portuguese government influence in the probe.
Friends add that he is worried about the private eyes hired by Gerry and Kate McCann, both 39, to help find their daughter.
The waiter, described by police as their “trump card”, has given what officers say is the most reliable account of what happened the night the four-year-old girl vanished.
The waiter is understood to have told police Kate raised the alarm from the balcony of their apartment and did not run back to the tapas bar. Officers believe his evidence can prove Madeleine’s parents, who deny any involvement in her disappearance, are lying.
They have quizzed him three times and many of the 100 questions police want to ask the McCanns, of Rothley, Leics, are thought to be based on his information.
One former work colleague of the waiter said: “He does not want to be involved in any of this. Through no fault of his own he finds himself at the heart of this worldwide mystery.
“I understand he is no longer in Portugal and is supposedly staying with relatives.”

I agree I am not sure what to believe about Metro3 claims on one hand you think what a idiot promising if he cannot deliver and what will happen to his contract if this all appears to be a lot of hot air, you would like to think no smoke without fire and perhaps he is on to something, but now this about the mineshaft in the barn and the unsettled earth I assume this is the barn with the towel found in it near an area where they think Jerry made a call on his mobile, seems the private detectives and the Portugese Police seem to be going off into different directions but as you say if they are exploring this barn I’m surprised there is not some media activity there, only time will tell I suppose, who was it though that suggested Metro3 for this job I thought it was the Ex SAS people the Mc’s hired (can’t remember there names ?) are they still on the payroll or is it just Metro now ? it would be interesting to hear from someone in PDL to see what is exactly happening right now ? the last I heard posters were being taken down as requested by the priest, now we have the waiter the first witness to see/hear Kate McCann he has gone into hiding to protect his statement !! is this the same waiter who appeared in the paper with his wife or is this a different one ?, the only thing I cling to is that Metro3 have a confidential hotline which has been set up for sometime, as we know the Portugese Police receive information and even with their secrecy laws eveidence ends up in the Portugese papers which have a rippling effect on the British news, maybe Metro3 have received a lot more tip offs and they are just keeping quiet, but the last thing the Metro3 boss said was he was trying to collate enough information/evidence for the police to make an arrests and raids lets hope this is true and they are just around the corner.

Sally, i agree he will look a complete idiot and he’s setting himself up for some very negative press particularly if she isn’t found by Christmas or atall. He seems to revel in the publicity this case is bringing him and he should be gagged so as not to jeapordise madeleines safety. There seem to be some contradictions coming from him so not sure i believe a word he says anymore.
As for the mineshaft at the barn, i am guessing if this excavation was taking place then the worlds press would be gathered there waiting for news, but we are hearing very little, so again, i’m not sure what to believe.
madeleine coming home for Christmas would be the ultimate gift and as much as iwould love it to happen, i am not so sure anymore. Madeleine being found at any time would be the ultimate gift. This will be the worst Christmas for the McC’s and i hope they can have some sort of happiness with the two beutiful children they do have with them.
My heart, thoughts, prayers go out to Madeleine, Yeremi, Ben and all the hundreds of thousands of other children all over the world who are not with their parents or where they should be, i long for all the children suffering in any way to be given peace and safety food shelter love ….it is a magical time of year but also a very depressing time especially knowing there are millions of children out there far far less fortunate than my own. I send love to them all, a christmas wish for something good to come into their lives.

I have been looking on CNN, Sky News, BBC News this morning for any other info but nothing, I wonder if this person on the Brian Ladd Website did see anything or maybe the headlines were blown out of proportion and it was all about the home for christmas statement from Metro3, every other paper and news channel seemed to have that running, I just could not sllep last night thinking about it and my fingers were crossed when I switched on Sky News, I thought however that if she was found Kate and Jerry would want to be re-unitied with her before they brought her home if it was announced too early in the papers and news then there would be a media circus following them, however if they don find her before christmas I do hope they tell the public because there are a lot of people that have been concerned for all these months and for me certainly Madeleine coming home would be the ultimate gift, but I do agree that Kate and Gerry seem to be saying about spending Christmas without Madeleine, but Metro3 are either very confident or very stupid to make a promise like this especially as the twins have asked Santa for Madeleine back, that would be too much to bare, I must admit though Clarence Mitchell seems to have been very quiet apart from were they said Matro3 should concentrate on finding Madeleine and not issuing statements but they were still confident in there ability, who was it that suggested Metro3 and what has happened to the Ex SAS people that were also looking for her ? everything seems to have gone quiet so I cannot understand why Metro3 made this statement out of the blue, if its true he has exactly 7 days to find Madeleine and re-unite her with her parents otherwise he is going to look like a complete fool, fingers crossed again today

Sorry to hear that Isla will not be coming on this forum again. She gave such a lot to us all, and helped keep us positive. I hope that she and her husband come out of this terrible trauma, and will be thinking of her.
I really don’t think that Metodo3 or anyone else to that matter has found Madeleine, because her parents seem so positive that they are going to spend Christmas without her. This may be a ploy to make everyone believe that she is still missing, but I really don’t think that it is. It would be my best Christmas present ever if we all found out that she had been found and reunited with her family, but I feel that Metodo3 have been too liberal with their media interviews, and all they seem to be doing is spreading false hopes. I still feel as though there may be something in this mine shaft story, but I hope to God there isn’t.

Madeleine: Forensics expert says inquiry is ‘complete waste’ because of police blunders at apartment

No suspect will ever face trial in the Madeleine McCann investigation because of mistakes made in the few hours after her disappearance, a forensics expert have said.
Defence lawyers would demolish scientific evidence in the case because of the wholesale contamination of forensics samples, the former head of the Portuguese police laboratory claimed.
Jose Manuel Anes said the seven-month police inquiry amounted to a complete waste of time and money.
“Huge amounts of money were spent but if, in the first hours, the due precautions for the preservation of the crime scene were not taken, all this hard work goes down the drain,” he said.
“We can spend rivers of money which will all go down the drain if the crime scene is not properly isolated.”
Portuguese police failed to seal off the McCann family’s holiday apartment in Praia da Luz immediately after the parents reported her abduction, meaning up to 50 people were free to tramp through the flat, destroying potentially vital evidence.
Mr Anes’s damning analysis of the investigation has inspired “alarm” in Kate and Gerry McCann who still hope to learn what happened to their daughter on the night of May 3.
Their spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: “It is alarming to hear that Mr Anes has this view.
“All we want, and have done throughout, is to ensure the operational police side of this has been done in an effective and efficient manner as possible.”
Microscopic traces of blood were missed for three months, until British sniffer dogs detected them, and police failed to don protective forensics suits, meaning their fingerprints and bootmarks contaminated the crime scene.
In an interview for the book The McCanns’ Guilt, written by a Portuguese journalist, Mr Anes said state-of-the-art tests were rendered useless if they were performed on contaminated samples.
The 62-year-old added: “As the technology for lab analysis becomes increasingly sensitive, the need not to contaminate the crime scene also increases.
“Any evidence left behind by an investigator, whatever it may be, can irreparably contaminate a sample gathered at the crime scene.”
Mr Anes said detectives were too influenced by the McCanns’ insistence their daughter was abducted.
He also said Portuguese forces should learn lessons from the British police, who train all officers to seal off crime scenes.
“I am utterly convinced that - unless some new, concrete evidence suddenly emerges - I fear the case will never reach trial,” he added.

The Portuguese police did look at it, but unfortunately the man in charge at that time was Goncalo Amaral, and we all know now that he spent most of his time investigating Madeleine’s abduction in a cafe for hours at a time, drinking wine and stuffing his face.

The FBI has been asked to examine CCTV footage of three men acting suspiciously near the Algarve apartment that Madeleine McCann disappeared from.
The night before she vanished, two men were seen acting nervously near the complex and on the evening she went, the same men were seen with a third man.
One of the men captured on camera on both nights bears a strong resemblance to a man with long, dark hair seen carrying a child, as reported by the McCanns’ friend Jane Tanner

The comments on the Brian Ladd Website seemed to be posted some where between the 7th - 15th December they were the only dates either side of this so fairly recent really but you wonder whether it is just the media and the news sites being mis-quoted, I have read through several papers regarding this and most of them say the Metro3 boss thinks she is in the Iberian Penninsula or Morocco and another I read said she may not have even left Portugal, one minute she is with not such nice people and in the Liverpool Daily Post he is quoted as saying :
“One of the things that makes us believe Madeleine is alive is that every day, she’s worth more to them. It’s obviously not a kidnap carried out by professionals for economic reasons.
“A professional kidnapper would have done something by now. He would have given her back or left her.”
It makes you wonder if someone snatched her for someone else and then because of the media interest could not pass her on, then would you not just leave her in a place of safety and keep low, unless this is a kidnapping by someone with a grudge what about the maid that was sacked by the Mark Warner Resort what happened to her ?, but if she has not left Portugal how come nobody has seen her or any trace of her, strange though that this news comes just as posters of Madeleine are taken down all over PDL ?
I have been jumping from news channel to new channel for updates but nothing and I have looked through CNN for all news on Madeline and I cannot even find anything that says about the Metro3 claims of her “home for christmas” even though every other channels are SKY, BBC etc, I even think that is a bit strange, hopefully whoever posted on the Brian Ladd Website saw it before perhaps it was removed, fingers still crossed

Yes, I have been aware of this claim…and they said the same thing a few weeks ago…I really hope they are telling the truth and not just telling the media she is at different locations in hopes that whoever has her thinks they have been found out and turn themselves in. This sort of plan could backfire and things could turn even worse for Madeleine.
Again, if they know where she is, get her out of there first…then tell the media.
