Just read this on another forum …..
An article in the Correio da Manha today argues that it was diplomacy from the British Embassy- not police incompetence- which subverted the early investigation, and prevented officers from persuing anything other than the abduction theory favoured by the PTB. The orders, according to the writer in question, came from no less a source than John Buck, the British Ambassador himself; who called the head of the Policia Judiciaria on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance to advise on the direction in which the police work should proceed.
So why is a British diplomat giving orders to a native chief of police? And who gave the word to John Buck in the first place?
‘Alípio Ribeiro, national director of PJ, received a call from John Buck, the British ambassador in Portugal, on the night Madeleine disappeared from the Ocean Club, on May 3.
Around 11 p.m., approximately two hours after the child’s disappearance had been communicated to the police, Alípio Ribeiro had to interrupt a private dinner in order to listen to the diplomat. That phone call was the first sign that the British were very keen on accompanying the PJ’s actions very closely, and in forcing the investigations to follow the abduction theory.
“The PJ lost too much time investigating the abduction”, a source connected to the investigation told Correio da Manha. The pressure of the British diplomacy apparently only slowed down after the arrival in Portugal of British police agents who gave support to the redirectioning of the investigation to the possibility of murder. The biological evidence found in the apartment were decisive in the changing the inquiry’s direction, or, at least, for the PJ to admit that change publicly.’

I think the CCTV camera which spotted the three men was reported to be on an office building, so perhaps the information is right.
As far as Metodo3 are concerned, if this is true about their move to a ‘plush new office’ on the back of the money they are receiving from the McCanns etc, this is one occasion that I agree if the McCanns team decide to sue. It is absolutely diabolical that they should be doing this in the middle of a critical case. It seems as though they are mocking the McCanns by making this move, even if it had been planned previously. If they don’t find Madeleine, or what has happened to her, it is pretty certain that they will not even have a business, because on the back of their sweeping claims they will have no clients.
Brian Ladd seems to have gone very quiet. He is not making any further claims about whether Madeleine is still alive or not, the only thing he is saying is that the police have still not made a further search of Murat’s house, and they still have someone posted on the outside.
The investigation into the phone calls around 3 May is good, but why on earth did they not do that months ago. I know that Goncalo Ameral was rubbish, but surely this should have been one of the first things that Robello did when he took over the case x number of months ago??
I wonder what has happened about the reported search of the mine shaft, and the fact that there was a shallow grave nearby. Last reported it was where the blood stained towel was found and they were going to start excavating. I didn’t like the sound of that, but thankfully that story seems to have disappeared.
I still feel that she is alive, but in what state I dread to think. My heart goes out to that beautiful little girl. I hope she is found soon.
One or two of the main posters have now disappeared from this site, but let’s try and keep it going until we find out what has happened to her, because it is such a relief to talk to like minded people. I find now that joe-public are getting on with their own lives and seem to have forgotten that Madeleine is still missing. I will never do that because she is now a part of my life. I have different thoughts about her disappearance periodically, sometimes I think it is the simple case of the McCanns being watched throughout the six days of their holiday. Madeleine was picked out and her parents made it so easy for someone to go into the apartment and take her.
Then on other occasions I wonder whether there is any truth in the document Isla posted, that because of Gerry’s work it is a vendetta against him. But that seems so far fetched, rather like the spy films we see at the cinema!!! But I suppose anything is possible, why should a little girl be taken from that particular resort at that particular time. I don’t think any foreign child has been taken in this way before. It just seems so odd to me.

No you havent’ …… if Anthony is right about Maddie…… then Anthony, you should become a detective!!!!! - And try to solve the case for Natalee Holloway in Aruba ! The case just had a sad ending.. she has never been found. They just re arrested the 3 guys who have been a suspect and have been released again. Sounds like the same laws as in Portugal!!! - So Anthony.. if you care to get into other cases.. there is also the JonBenet case…… let me know… and we can start another thread.. but only after Maddie is found!!! :)-

Re 5633 Anthony, i hope you never just return to your life after Maddie is found. You seem to have such a passion and the ability to look at things from all angles. You would have a lot to offer so many missing people. So i hope that someone recognises your obvious talents or you yourself recognise the gift that you have, and apply yourself full time to finding people.
I hope i havent insulted anyone with my remarks to Anthony. Of course everyone on here is very dedicated and passionate in wanting to find Maddie. Just Anthony seems to have something extra, in the way he thinks things through.

I’m sure that the CCTV article is false , and is meant to frighten the abductors into making phone calls so that they can be monitored , which makes me think that they know who they are. And they must be watching these people , and listening to them hoping they will lead them to Maddie.
I hope my guess is correct.

SAGINAW, Mich. — A Mount Morris man suspected of molesting dozens of children across the state over 20 years has sent a Christmas letter to the family of one of his alleged victims.
Kevin Odette is in the Genesee County Jail waiting to be examined to see if he is competent to stand trial, reported WNEM-TV in Saginaw.
Investigators are interested in acquiring the letter Odette mailed, because it could be evidence, the television station reported.
Investigators are trying to meet one alleged victim’s mother, who told a judge Odette sent her a letter in which he wished her a merry Christmas, and according to the Flint Journal, admitted to the molestation and asked the family to forgive him as he has forgiven himself for his actions.
Investigators said they already have a solid confession from Odette, but the letter is possibly evidence of witness intimidation.
After finding out about the letters, one judge banned Odette from sending mail from the jail.
Odette faces at least 15 charges, including first-degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of child porn.
Investigators said they found 75 VHS tapes and more than 200 DVDs of child porn, which they said was evidence against Odette in the case involving the alleged abuse of as many as 75 children.
Odette is now in isolation after he reportedly was beaten up in jail.

Interesting post! - :)- I’m wondering if there were any men involved in taking Maddie… my imagination is running wild at times after reading some stuff about Maddie’s case!! - but now I’m starting to wonder if the people who snatched Maddie were actually women dressed up like men? If you get my drift? And they passed her on…. - ! I’ve also seen this article at first where Murat had helped this eldery portuguese couple establish residency in the UK several years ago. I cannot find that article at all! - I wonder if they ‘ve interviewed those people. - It is still fishy why Murat is so eager to be in the limelight all the time in the police investigation etc. there has got to be a reason!! And yes, I also think that Isla’s document is a truth to it like that other is.

I can’t believe that they’d be so stupid to be taking the McCann’s for a ride - they must realise the WHOLE of the world is watching them and their entire reputation is dependent on the outcome of the Madeleine case…….

It doesn’t mean that I’ll ever stop coming on here or give up on Madeleine though.

Yes very odd, unless of course it’s more speculation and there aren’t any real tapes of three men acting suspiciously,
They say they’ve got images from near the McCann’s apartment on 1st May - yet we’ve heard many times before that there aren’t any camera’s in or around the MW complex….more contradictory reports - when will they end ?

Private detectives hired to search for Madeleine McCann have moved to plush new offices as questions emerge about whether they are giving good value for money.
Entrance to Metodo’s new officePeople who donated to the Find Madeleine Fund are seeing Metodo 3 pocket £50,000-a-month of their cash - without any apparent breakthrough.
The group has not yet produced any evidence to back their claims that they know who took the girl.
Boss Francisco Marco claims he knows the girl, who would be four years old now, is alive and could be reunited with her heartbroken parents Kate and Gerry for Christmas.
But he was not available to speak to Sky News Online by phone and on arriving at his office in Barcelona, it was claimed he was out of the country - working on a different case.
At a supposedly crucial stage in the inquiry, his luxurious new office - perched above a gay sauna in a grand, pillar-filled building - was in a make-shift state.

Hi All, Mike re post 5620, don’t you think M3 are jumping on ‘evidence’ we have all ready heard of? like the selling of the child in a Lisbon car park? I remember this was mentioned many months ago so they are covering old ground there really, not sure about the alleged sighting of Maddie in a car with a woman though.
To me they (M3) are not looking very good. They are in for a rough ride if they don’t find Maddie after all their claims.

here is someone to help,his name is dennis mckensie,he has found the body of a man richard happy kelly who was murdered in a drug related homicide,he got all the places right and knew the names of the person who killed him,four people in total,he has got all the names right and has been asked to help in finding two other missing people in ireland,he has a good track record in finding people,i will ask him to concider helping to look for madeline mccann,
the fact that he can also see names is a big help and a lot of people who were on the happy kelly case take him as genuine,i am trying to contact him now but he allready knows about madeline mccann so he will be of help,i hope,
small prayer we are all close to seeing her return so we can all go back to our lives again,

To my understanding the FBI cannot take over as they have no jurisdiction. They have been asked to look at the footage only because they have the best technology. Also, Madeleine is not a US citizen so she falls directly to the British government.

Thousands of Portuguese telephone records have been seized by police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Detectives are trawling through the paperwork looking for unusual patterns of calls around the time she vanished.
Head of the inquiry Paulo Rebelo ordered the check across Praia da Luz, Burgau and Lagos - a region which has a population of 27,000.
He has gone back to old-fashioned policing methods after forensic evidence failed to provide any breakthroughs.
The operation indicates the team believes a local accomplice may have been involved in aiding Madeleine’s abduction.
Detectives have begun the process of contacting up to 1,000 locals whose records or mobile signals show they were in Praia da Luz on the night of May 3.
Officers are particularly interested in the time between 9.30pm and 10pm, when they believe Madeleine disappeared.
One resident said two detectives visited her on Tuesday, armed with two sheets of paper containing hundreds of numbers.
They asked her to confirm her mobile number and then asked her who she had called at 9.50pm on May 3.
She identified the number as her husband’s mobile and said the officers told her: “We are investigating all calls made within Praia da Luz from 9.30pm onwards on May 3.”
She said four of her neighbours had also been contacted by police about calls they made.
Detectives can use the “triangulation method” to pinpoint users who were in Praia da Luz on May 3. Mobiles give out signals every time they make or receive a call or text message, and when they are switched on and off.
Those signals are logged by phone masts and from measuring the strength of the signal to local masts, experts can identify precisely where a phone was used.
Kate and Gerry McCann were said to be “encouraged” by the police work.
“Any information could prove vital,” their spokesman said.

If the Portuguese police had CCTV images of three people acting suspiciously on May 1st then why haven’t they got CCTV footage on May 3rd the evening that Madeleine was abducted.?? And if I remember rightly it was stated on Sky news that the streets around the Ocean club had no camera’s because it was a quiet area , and a safe resort.
Just where were these CCTV camera’s situated. Surely Jane Tanner and Gerry McCann and the man he crossed the road to talk too , would have been picked up on any CCTV that was there.

As has already been said, how can this trade of selling children exist if its known about? If i knew kidnapped children were being sold in a car park in this country i would be there in a flash, if this matter was not being dealt with by the police. How can local people just allow this to go on where they live, if they know about it, which i guess they must do, if we do. We like to think we live in a civilised world, certainly doesnt seem that way to me. Very sad.

We heard about this selling in the parking lot early on in this case. I for the life of me cannot understand how the officials know about this going on and nothing has been done. If this is true in Maddie’s case, what are the chances of getting her back? Has a child ever been saved from these gangs before? I’m not so sure about the M3. I would feel more confident in them if they would not released any info.
This is such a crazy world….selling kidnapped children in a parking lot and NO ONE stops it!
Wonder what they are afraid of? How much power/clout does the gang have? Scary!!
This is another avenue that was never fully investigated….almost 8 months now! It just makes me so angry! PRAYING FOR MADELEINE.

Yes I know, same here… I feel so bad for Maddie!! - That’s why this case gets to us hard at times on here. We all say things that we regret that we have said so, if I have offended you in anyway, I’m sorry. But I truly didn’t mean too. I know it sounds crazy.. but the board is like extended friends/family… :)- and when someone isn’t on for awhile we or at least I get worried that something is wrong. I do have a life outside of the board lol… but no one really who is so interested in Maddie’s case like you guys are.

Remember that claim by Metodo 3 we will have Madeleine home for Christmas, I also read that they think she is in a location in central Portugal..Below are a couple of articles that might be relevant to this claim.
A “witness” has claimed to have spotted missing Madeleine McCann in central Portugal two days after she disappeared from her family’s holiday apartment.
Francisco Marco, the director general of Metodo 3, indicated that they were closing in on the four-year-old’s abductor and preparing to hand over their “evidence” to police.
Mr Marco also told the Spanish newspaper Metro that the girl, who was snatched from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve in May, might never have left Portugal.
In a fresh development in the search for the Leicestershire youngster, Gerry and Kate McCann have been informed of a reported sighting of their daughter in a car with a woman
The abduction of Madeleine McCann may be linked to a trafficking network that sees children put on the market for £7,000, detectives have said. Missing Madeleine Eastern European gangs are holding auctions in supermarket car-parks in central Portugal and France.
Officers in France have released details of the trade, as they believe it may be related to the four-year-old’s disappearance, a Sky source said.
In one case, the mother of a baby boy was arrested for attempting to sell her baby North of Lisbon.

I was talking to someone today and we were both saying, how are it would be for Maddie now to return to family life after all the brainwashing she has probably undergone. I just wish i had an answer for you. I would love to know what to do to get that little girl home, i really would.
