Madeleine McCann Not In Malta Or Morocco
FROM Paulo Reis in Portugal:
Portuguese CID spokesman, about Madeleine abduction: “The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz”
Portuguese authorities have dismissed as groundless all leads on sightings of Madeleine McCann in other countries rather than Portugal, namely in Morroco and Malta, said Polícia Judiciária (PJ), Portuguese CID, spokesman Olegário de Sousa (…) Further investigations are being carried out centered mainly on the area of Praia da Luz itself, said Mr. Olegário de Sousa. «The clue to this mistery is in Praia da Luz», according to other police source quoted by Diário de Notícias. (…)
Note: Kate and Gerry McCann are innocent.

It is a class issue. Are you saying the Sun would support a bunch of Chavs that left their apartment unlocked and went off on the lash?
And you’re assuming the McCanns are being punished enough by Madeleine’s disappearance -they could be feeling anything - your assumption might be wrong.

I’ve read further back that apparently Isla found a “document”? Can somebody tell me what that is about or a link to the information? Thanks!

Mods and Admin,
I quote below a post form the “Madeleine McCann: Grief, Hundreds of Witnesses and Hope” thread, because I would like to make some comments (my name is mentioned in it, as well as this thread) and it is about “posting/debating” in general.
I believe that the whole idea that Cheryl was trying to put to you has to do, not with excluding people of different opinions, but excluding the ones that become abusive and insulting. Look at the insight “fighting” that’s going on in there! It is awful and that’s why I’m not posting there anymore. In my opinion, Mods and Admin, maybe you could try and somehow interject every-now-and-then and advise some individuals not to make comments that are insulting or abusive? Just a thought!
We can all still have differences of opinions, debate them in a civilized manner, without turning them into swearing, calling of names and hurtful personal remarks.
Having a “thread” were perhaps people are more like-minded and therefore, tend to agree more with each-other, can achieve as much as a thread full of infighting. After all, I don’t see anybody “solving” this case on the other thread yet, do you?
Freedom of speech is great, but not when the remarks become abusive!

Cheryl, that sort of idea can only work in a private forum, there is absolutely no way that 3 parttime unpaid Moderators can even hope to attempt to control events. Seriously though this is NOT a debateable issue is it? maybe findings on a possible court case may be, but its all conjecture as regards the Madeleine situation.
But, for instance, if it were a possibility which posters were you thinking should be excluded? and why , and who ‘permitted’ to speak?
In the UK hecklers are expected, not banned , look what happened to New Labour when they tried to eject Mr Wolfgang, and he wasn’t regarded byJoe Public as a troll, just someone who had been denied FREE speech in Nazi Germany.
Sorry guys, you’ll have to put up with opposing views, no one called Mao on this site
______________
REPLY: Sorry Mods and Admin - With all due respect just drop it and don’t worry about it. You have totally misinterpretated and misunderstood an idea I was talking about with Daisy on how there could be a way we could ALL work together on here even with differing views without the nastiness, infighting, etc. etc. etc. there is now.
Sorry I can’t resist this ( you got me on a very bad day) - this is a prime example of being misinterpreted, conclusions being jumped to…
********************
Your request for a closed discussion has been put up to Admin, but bear in mind that 4 or a few more posters who share opinions are not debating , they are only back patting and agreeing.
I have not misunderstood what your intentions are. And ‘work together’ towards what? the Malta and Morocco threads have been ‘working together’ for months, and apart from agreeing with each, which they have done all along have achieved zilch.
This is not politics or anything else, its the loss of a young child in the consensual absence of her parents or anyone else in loco parentis.
No one is stopping anyone of you from expressing your opinions on this matter, why do you need exclusivity?

Hi Brian
Hope you can open this. I thought it interesting, the police are looking for one suspect in regards to Madeliene, I was sent this via email from crimestoppers, I wonder if Peter Weatherley is the suspect, he had a ’swallow’ tattoo on his arm but its now removed.

Yet another paedophile the police are following up re Madeleine. I am sure Brian has had a dream about a tattoo.
The Helpingtofind Madeleine campaigners have been busy sending 11,500 letters and posters to remote rural towns and villages in Morocco. There are so many good people willing to help in the search for Madeleine, let’s hope this comes up with some positive information.

I think we need to find out if this Christian guy knew RM in the uk and if he knows him now. You would think that all of the expats in PDL know each other… PDL is probably not that big…

Hi Daisy
I think some posters on other Anorak threads should calm down. I think there is a very real danger of people getting carried away on these blogs assuming that they know more about the case than they actually do. I have already read some amazing assumptions and statements both for and against the McCann’s in these blogs, which are simply not true, if the few actual facts of the case are studied. One person even suggests it is a class issue and the only reason they are not being hassled over leaving her alone is because they are white doctors. Quite what relevance this has I’m not at all sure. While we all acknowledge that what the McCann’s did in leaving Maddie alone was unforgiveably stupid, I think we can also agree that their punishment for that mistake has been, and will continue to be an unbearable burden for the rest of their lives. The fact that people are not currently ramming this down the throats of the grieving couple is out of common human decency and empathy, it has nothing to do with the colour of their skin, nor their class. The only persons class (or lack thereof) that is shown up by this type of comment is that of the author. The easiest thing to do is to sit back and criticise either the police or the McCann’s when it is not us in their situation. In reality none of us have the slightest idea what went on and probably never will. All we can hope and pray for is that Maddie is alive and well and until it is proven otherwise, thats what we should all cling to. Having an opinion on what happened is fine and the whole point of this blog, but making sweeping statements of alleged “fact” and tearing people apart with no real clue as to what your saying is going too far. If it is ever proven that the parents are to blame then I will be the first to cast the stones in their direction for a heinous crime but until then I think everyone should refrain from “jumping on the bandwagon” and destroying people who very well could be innocent. It would be interesting to see how many of these vastly opinionated people would come back and post apologies to the McCann’s if they were proven to be innocent, sadly I feel not many, as they would probably be too busy posting nasty comments about their next unfortunate victims from the behind the relative safety of their P.C screen.

From The Times

Hundreds ring hotline after Madeleine
Hundreds of people have come forward with possible new information in the hunt for Madeleine McCann after a televised appeal by her parents.
The plea, filmed at Kate and Gerry McCann’s home in Rothley, Leicestershire, last Saturday, included previously unseen footage of Madeleine opening her gifts last Christmas. It has prompted 347 calls, and they will now be investigated by Metodo 3, the private detective agency hired by Mr and Mrs McCann to find their daughter.
In the television message, which was transmitted around the globe, Mrs McCann directed her words to her daughter. She said: “Our only Christmas wish is for you to be back with us again and we’re hoping and praying that that will happen. Love you Madeleine.”
Clarence Mitchell, the McCanns’ family spokesman, said: “We are pleased with the calls and they are continuing to come in. Every single call is much appreciated and we are going through them with a fine-tooth comb. Any that need to be acted upon swiftly, are being acted upon swiftly.”
He added: “We don’t go into detail [about the calls] because if there is any significant information we need to act on it before we talk about it.”
Mrs McCann went to Mass at St Stephen’s Church in Skipton, in North Yorkshire, yesterday to pray for Madeleine’s return. Appropriately Boxing Day is also St Stephen’s Day.
Mr and Mrs McCann had attended the church with their two-year-old twins, Sean and Amelie, for Mass on Christmas Day.
Peter Dawber, the priest who took the Christmas Mass, said: “Parishioners’ hearts go out to the McCanns, especially at this time of year.
“There was a prayer for Madeleine, but the Mass was a Christmas service.”
The McCanns, both 39, are staying in Skipton with Mrs McCann’s cousin, Anne Marie Wright, 43. They have endured their first Christmas without their daughter, who went missing from the family holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, just before her fourth birthday.
On her left lapel yesterday, Mrs McCann wore a badge bearing a photograph of Madeleine with the message, “Look into my eyes. Help find Madeleine.”
An onlooker said: “Every mother wants to cuddle her children at Christmas. It is heartbreaking that Kate has been denied that opportunity. The badge she was wearing is a symbol of hope that could help focus new eyes on the hunt for Madeleine.
“Kate looked much more anguished than she had on Christmas Day. Not having the twins with her must have given her the chance to show her true emotions.
“It is heartbreaking to see a mum so anguished at this special family time of year.”
Yesterday in the latest entry on his internet diary, Mr McCann said: “Madeleine should not be spending Christmas away from her loving family. The person who took her has it in their power to end our suffering and will be able to appease their conscience that they have done the right thing – especially at this time of year.
“Kate and I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write to us and let us know Madeleine and our family are still in their thoughts and prayers.
“We still have at least one hundred cards to open! As always, every single one will be read and the support expressed helps renew our determination to find Madeleine.”
Yesterday a family friend said that the McCanns had changed the motto for the search for their daughter from not leaving any stone unturned to “never, never give up hope”.
The number to contact for anyone who has information about Madeleine is 0034 902 300 213.

Swissmiss,
Yes i agree there may be, but he might not be a convicted paedophile. From what it appears he has escaped the consequences of his actions so far. I hope now he will be found and brought to book for his vile behaviours towards a vulnerable minor. Before it is too late and he takes things a step further. I pray he hasn’t already.

Kristie,
I have a 9 year old little girl and I do not leave her out of my sight, therefore it is incomprehensible for me that they could have left babies and young ones alone for so many hours for so many days. It’s not like they just went to the reception to get a pamphlet, for example, and were back at the apartment a few minutes later. I don’t even do that. So, they are, in my opinion, guilty of neglect and the safety of the twins could be at stake.
I have wondered about a “fair trial” also, and, unless the real evidence (which we might not be aware of) has been carefully protected by the PJ and nobody knows what it is, a fair trial would be very difficult. But, it is still possible, in my opinion. The McCanns have been tried by the Media and the public already. (I took a little survey on one site I was reading, which asked the question “do you believe they killed their daughter”, to which I replied “no”, and when you came to the next screen, the results were in the order of 72% yes / 28% no. So, in the eyes of the public, they are guilty.
I don’t always believe what the Media says. They can “slightly”? change their story/headline to increase circulation. Also, apparently, the media gets their info from leaks from the PJ, which, apparently have stopped coming since the new PJ guy took over, but who knows?
At least, I think it is good that the PJ is also looking at poedophiles now and I do believe that Murat should be looked at more closely. I still have a gut feeling that there is more to him than we know.
It’s very late and now I’m off to bed.
See you all later.

Daisy,
Your french is excused!! Many a strong word has left my mouth regarding that animal. The similarities are noticable re being at the scene, keeping up to speed with the investigation. Surely should this ever come to trial- the McCann’s being accused it would have to be thrown out of court especially with RM translating for some of the friends…also the chances of them or even RM getting a fair trial are nil due to the huge media and worldwide interest in this case. With Ian Huntly i know that the press were very careful about what they printed after he had been arrested so as not to jeapordise a trial. Obviously there was a lot to know about him and it came pouring out after he had been convicted…i wonder how much there is we don’t know about Murat?? or even the McC’s and friends? it feels like there can’t be much we don’t know due to all the press they have recieved in this case….but then again….
Thanks for posting those links. I had missed the programme and it was interesting to watch. It did make me angry for the first time, at the McC’s. I do not condone what they did whatsoever. But seeing Martin Brunt re-trace the steps taken to the apartment and also the apartment similar to their own made me so angry. And leaving the door open, apparently?? i just think that it was more than niave and quite shocking actually. When you see it like that for yourself it really hits home. Madeleine didn’t stand a chance.
I just hope to God she is found and that it will be soon. She deserves nothing less. To be honest i am on that same fence you sit on Daisy, and i waver from one idea to the other. The only one i truly care about is little Maddie.

I have just come across the video of Martin Brunt’s Sky News UK report on YouTube. For me, being on the other side of the World, it was very good to now have access to view it. Hi All,
Hi Daisy, Welcome aboard!! Nice to see someone posting with fresh ideas to discuss.
Mike, your post about this Christian Ridout is very interesting. This is a very dangerous man and needs to be found, why he hasn’t is beyond me. I will check out CEOP website and see if he’s on there, but not sure if CEOP will just put on convicted paedophiles, that said for all we know he may well have been before or since that incident with the girl and the text messages. Surely the parents will have some idea where he is, but now his name is out there i am pretty sure he will be found before long. Thankfully. Funny he was next door neighbour to RM!!
Just to pick up on a point you made Daisy about perpetrators returning to the scene of the crime, have you heard of the case in England a few years ago about Ian Huntley? He murdered two schoolgirls. He was a janitor at thier school and he was right there in the thick of the media and police activity, pretending to be helpful just so he could find out where they were at in the investigation. He was on TV a few times with his partner. The details are very harrowing, but i think this is why the British Journalist felt creeped out by RM because he behaved so similarly to Ian Huntley. I too feel there’s something there with RM, don’t know what, but i really believe there is.

Hi Daisy
Welcome to this thread , I have on occasions seen your name on the other thread and wondered why you and other like minded people didn’t join us on here a long time ago.
none of us know what happened to Madeleine that evening of May 3rd all we can do is to speculate and theorise, if I had any idea where she was I would be out there looking for her myself.
I can’t believe some of the spiteful, verbal diarrhoea that appears on some of the other threads and I certainly don’t go along with some of the conspiracy theories that these morons come out with. I thought they might have eased up over xmas but they seem to have continued spitting out their evil venom towards the family. Innocent until proven guilty - everyone is entitled to that.

Hi Mike, thanks!
Yes, “innocent until proven guilty” is what I believe also (but there are many instances when Justice has not been served and the Law has failed the victim). This case is so complicated that I wonder if we will ever know the truth.
It is very interesting to exchange views with other people, as everybody has different ideas or theories of what could have happened to sweet Maddie. I respect other peoples viewpoint and like a “healthy” debate, but, as you say, some morons are just incredible! I wonder if they would have the guts to say the things the write, if you were fact to face with them. Most would not!
