Muktar Ibrahim Guilty Over 21/7 Bomb Plot
TAKE a look at the picture. He’s the ringleader of the plot to kill and maim on July 21 2005. It wasn’t his slack-jawed stupidity that stopped him being a mass murderer. It was luck:
Muktar Ibrahim was the prime mover in the conspiracy to bomb London’s transport network on 21 July 2005. Questions remain about how he managed to gain the skills needed to construct the devices - and whether he co-ordinated the attacks with the 7 July suicide bombers.
He was born Muktar Said Ibrahim in Asmara in what is now Eritrea in January 1978. He grew up in Eritrea, which was fighting a war of independence against Ethiopia.
He arrived in the UK in 1990 and lived in Stoke Newington, north London. He eventually gained a British passport and worked as a market trader.
But way before he was granted citizenship - and before the plan to attack the Underground - he had a criminal record.
In June 1993 he was convicted of indecent assault as a 15-year-old. Two years later he was involved in two robberies.
A gang-related attack in Hertford led to Ibrahim being detained in Feltham Young Offenders’ Institute for five years.
Released in 1998 he appeared to be trying to sort out his life. He worked in a shopping centre, in restaurants and as a market trader.
Then he turned to radical Islam. He’d been crap at everything else..

He turned to ‘radical Islam’ after being incarcerated at her majesty’s pleasure, after a string of not so petty crimes (http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/crime/article301883.ece ).
He wasn’t so crap at travelling to Pakistan & returning to the UK though, AND without being hauled up on his return for his non-appearance at court. He was VERY good at obtaining British citizenship (despite being a known criminal), which he did in September 2004
It seems he was also a ‘researcher’ in a Home Office study into Khat use.
http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/rds/pdfs05/rdsolr4705.pdf
He WAS crap at making bombs though. So crap indeed that the ‘conspiracy to cause explosions’ charge was dropped from the court trial (but not the media trial). The accused were found guilty of ‘conspiracy to murder with other persons unknown to murder other persons’.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6745205.stm
Add to the above the heavy reliance on prosecution witnesses who served testimony behind screens & using pseudonyms etc. & who facilitated the very movements/actions of the ‘bombers’ - running ‘em around to buy the hydrogen peroxide, helping hoik the boxes of chemicals up the stairs etc.
More research is here:
