New US Soldiers Get $20,000 Iraq Bonus
WAR and brass:
The U.S. Army is now offering an additional $20,000 bonus to new recruits willing to ship out quickly.
The “QS” bonus, for “Quick Shipper,” goes to new and prior service recruits who join, select a job and ship out for training within 30 days.
The bonus is in addition to other enticements already in place.
“The $20,000 means a lot of seed money for new soldiers answering the Army’s call to duty,” Tom Foley, spokesman for the Columbus, Ohio, Recruiting Battalion, told station WLWT in Cincinnati.
