Police: Madeleine McCann Could Be Dead
GRIM news. But as a parent, would you now want the body to put and end to things?
Police in Portugal have acknowledged for the first time that missing Madeleine McCann may be dead.
Speaking to the BBC, one of the detectives leading the investigation said new evidence had given “intensity” to the possibility she was killed.
Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa said Kate and Gerry McCann were not being considered as suspects following recent rumours they were under suspicion.
Madeleine vanished 100 days ago in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz.
Forensic scientists
Mr Sousa said renewed searches by detectives with British sniffer dogs have revealed clues which could point to Madeleine’s death.
He was referring to traces of blood found inside the apartment room where Madeleine was sleeping, which are now being analysed by forensic scientists in Britain.

Orion why do you believe that an arrest is imminent and that we will be shocked?

” I think the parents are completely innocent of everything except for leaving their children alone.” That’s a rather large ‘except’, given that if the children had had a responsible adult with them Madeleine would not now be missing. No two ways about it, whatever has happened to her the parents are guilty of neglect at best, and no matter how often apologists try to pretend that ‘everyone would do it’ it doesn’t make it true. Very few people would ever even consider leaving small children on their own in their own home, let alone in a strange apartment in a foreign country, and doing so is not ‘a small mistake’, it’s a crime in anyone’s language. Remember the rash of ‘home alone’ stories a few years ago? Some of those concerned children a lot older than 3, and their parents were prosecuted for going out for the evening and leaving them without supervision. And before anyone starts saying ‘we’ve heard all this before’ - it clearly STILL needs to be said, as some people still, apparently, haven’t twigged that the vast majority of people would never, ever, in a million years, even consider leaving their small kids alone.

Could someone look at the police interview given yesterday on the bbc. It appears to me that the guy specifically says “some clothing has been found”. He says it in his accent which makes it sound like “closing”. Is this my interpretation or does anyone agree. Haven’t heard this even mentioned by anyone (strange) and if true, that is why they assume she may be dead, I guess. Yet the bbc have completely ignored this and state that suspicion of death refers to the possible blood stains. And yet here we have it from the horse’s mouth and nobody says anything……..weird.

If the blood that is found is Madeleines, I will be very shocked. I don’t think she is dead. I think the parents are completely innocent of everything except for leaving their children alone. When are the DNA results expected to be back?

By Sky News SkyNews - 42 minutes agoMadeleine McCann’s parents were not told by Portuguese police that the man leading the hunt for the missing girl would go public with his belief that the youngster was dead, it has emerged.
A family friend said it was “extraordinary” the police had “not had the decency” to tell the couple they now believed Madeleine could be dead before giving interviews to the media.
Speaking on the 100th day of Madeleine’s disappearance from an Algarve hotel, Chief Inspector Olegario Sousa said he believed the four-year-old may not be alive.
The acknowledgement threatens to open up a rift between the McCanns and police.
The senior officer’s comments appear to contradict the message that the McCanns, from Rothley, Leicestershire, have been receiving from investigators.
On Tuesday, Mrs McCann said police had told her only the previous week that they were “looking for a living child”.
But Mr Sousa said new evidence suggesting Madeleine was killed was being investigated with “intensity”.
“In these past few days, there have been some developments, and some clues have been found, that could point in a possible death of the little child,” he said.
Sniffer dogs last week discovered blood specks on a wall in the McCanns’ holiday flat in the resort of Praia da Luz.
The samples have been sent to Britain for DNA tests, which are expected to be returned early this week.
Mr Sousa also said the McCanns and the seven friends with them on holiday when Madeleine disappeared on May 3 were not considered suspects.
That contradicted unconfirmed reports in Portuguese papers last week suggesting they were now under suspicion.
The McCanns yesterday attended a poignant service for Madeleine and other missing children in the church of Nossa Senhora da Luz in Praia da Luz.
Clutching her daughter’s favourite soft toy, Mrs McCann made an emotional appeal for people to keep supporting her and her husband through their “journey of hope”.

The PJ know more than they are revealing. In the next few days more details will be known. An arrest is imminent. We will all be shocked.

The nice thing about this headline is that it also leaves the opposite open: she might not be dead.
Or is that a bit deep for this time of night?

Its needs to be ‘Recovery’ of Madeleine, to give happiness (hopefully) or at least ‘closure’ and grief and then rebuilding the family foundations.
Nothing external will help in anyway, it will all need to come from within the remaining family.
If they are to be exonerated ,its needs to be fairly fast, and completely.
