THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER brings the news that the McCanns’ legal action is against the Portuguese publication Tal & Qual. (The Express, of course, has dutifully repeated all the allegations and smears that have emanated from the Portuguese press, for the delectation and disgust of Maddywatchers back home.) Spokeswoman Justine McGuinness says the McCanns “are not going to be a doormat any more”.
Meanwhile, the paper says the hunt has switched to a campsite in the Loire valley after sightings by holidaymakers.

The Telegraph reports that the McCanns say they are suing to clear their name, not for the money.
THE TIMES page 5: Candle of hope for Madeleine
The paper says that Madeleine’s classmates “said a poignant prayer” yesterday, on what should have been her first day at school.

The paper says the McCanns believe it is time to stand firm against the allegations.
DAILY MIRROR page 11: Maddy school’s prayers
The paper says the McCanns spent a quiet day with their twins in Praia da Luz.
THE STAR page 22: SCHOOL’S SAD WAIT FOR MISSING MADDIES: Chair and locker are saved for her
The empty chair, locker and coat peg are once again invoked. Bishop Ellis headteacher Gail Neill says: “We are deeply saddened that we cannot yet welcome Madeleine McCann.”

The paper also reports on the candle that is being kept burning at the school.

kate looks the spitting image of a woman i caught nsu from 8-9 years ago. She wasn’t a doctor though, she worked at mcdonalds

Just found a quote that Kate said in August.
We don\’t know where Madeleine is, we don\’t think she\’s in the UK but there\’s nothing to say she\’s any further from there than she is from here. It\’s a gut feeling.

They can take a newspaper to court for stating something without evidence.
Try taking me to court for saying this:
As Doctors you have been taught that the interests of the child override those of parents.
As parents you are aware that children under the age of sixteen should not be left unattended if there is a possibility of danger.
If anything happens to a child due to you neglecting them you are responsible by law for what may occurr!!!
We feel sorry for your tragedy but you are not above the law. Indeed you should know better than most parents how best to care for three under 4 year olds.

i think the likely hood that the mccanns killed her is far more likely, which was my third scenario. But bearing in mind the mccanns and thier friends jobs, i would assume they stink of death.
Also another thought, their jobs would have exposed them to death many many times which is how they would be able to cover up their emotions of guilt and grief.

This information is given to DOCTORS on childrens rights and the responsibilities of parents. Since Kate and Gerry McCann are BOTH doctors the question has to be asked….are they competent at their job??????
..In child protection cases, a doctor’s chief responsibility is to the well being of the child or children concerned, therefore where a child is at risk of serious harm, the interests of the child override those of parents or carers.
..All doctors working with children, parents and other adults in contact with children should be able to recognise, and know how to act upon, signs that a child may be at risk of any form of abuse or neglect, not only in a home environment, but also in residential and other institutions.
..Wherever possible, the involvement and support of those who have parental responsibility for, or regular care of, a child should be encouraged, in so far as this is in keeping with promoting the best interests of the child or children concerned.
..Children can suffer abuse or neglect through the direct infliction of harm, or through the failure to prevent harm occurring.
..Abuse can occur in a family or institutional setting and the perpetrator may or may not be known to the child.
..All doctors working with children, parents and other adults in contact with children must be aware of, and have access at their place of work to, their local Area Child Protection Committee’s Child Protection Procedure manual.
..‘Doctor’ includes both GP and hospital doctor, and although this guidance note is principally directed toward doctors, much of the information is applicable to other health care workers.
