Madeleine McCann: Pressure Awards
AGW in the Anorak Forums writes:
I would like to nominate three finalists for last week’s
What ###!@##!!*** Pressure?!! Award.Note: there is no dictionary and further nominations are acceptable.
One: A joint nomination this, the Doctors Kate and Gerry McCann, both 39, who appear to have survived an adrenalin rush and subsequent flight while under extreme conditions. Both appear to have lost the power of speech and may not be able to attend any prize ceremony.
Two: Another joint runner: the company directors and Trustees of the McCann website money spinner. They are: Peter Hubner, 64, a retired consultant; Gerry McCann’s brother John McCann, 48; former GMTV presenter Esther McVey, 39, who runs a Liverpool-based PR firm; Doug Skehan, 54, a clinical director of cardiology at the hospital, where Gerry works (worked?); Philip Tomlinson, 76, a lawyer and former Leicestershire coroner; and Brian Kennedy, 68, Madeleine McCann’s great uncle. Again all have been struck dumb and your support may help. Especially now the Clan McCann are talking to very expensive British QCs who know sod all about Portuguese law…that bill’s going to be a Wow! Oh Dear God!!! one.
Finally Three: The Portuguese Wooden Tops. Despite blistering heat and pressure from the world’s press in general, and the British Press in particular, they held their nerve and sat through five hours of Gerry McCann’s voice while he apparently said nothing at all. An ear plug cluster will go with a successful nomination in this category.

Just a quick, somewhat rhetorical question…
Do you think the same kafuffle would have been made if a little Portuguese girl went missing, presumed abducted in Blackpool?
Which leads me to another rhetorical question…Do you think the McCann’s might use some the money that has been donated to them to help fund campaigns for all the other nameless kids who have gone missing since Madeline’s disappearance? After all, their campaign has taken up a disproportionate amount of media time and space compared to the cases of other missing kids.
Think it’s all a bit suss.

My backing for the “What ###!@##!!*** Pressure?!! Award.” goes to number 3.
Look away from the telly and listen to Gerry.
Then look away and listen to Philomemouthwithfood.
They both have the same whiney voice.
Lets hear it for 3 !!!!!!!.
The silent-er the better in my books.
