Gerry and Kate McCann have consulted lawyers working on behalf of Eugene Zapata in Madison, Wisconsin.
In October 1976, Zapata’s wife, Jeanette, went missing. Her body has never been found. Last year sniffer dogs were brought in and Zapata was charged with her murder. The case went before Judge Patrick Fielder who said the evidence – dogs had picked up the scent of a corpse in Zapata’s basement – was inadmissible. He said the dogs were unreliable.
The dogs have yet to make a comment.

Pages 6 and 7: “Mum’s tears at 11am Mass.” Once again the Mirror is all eyes for Kate McCann’s eyes. She is crying.
In church, Father Keith Tomlinson narrates the parable of the Prodigal Son. An eight-year-old child called Molly Earp reads “Jesus please continue to love and protect us, until she is found.”
And then Jesus can have a rest and the police can resume normal duties…
Pages 8 and 9: “On the beach Gerry gave Maddy loads of hugs and kisses, he was a perfect dad..The next time I saw him was about midnight..I saw a man alone, desperate. He was crying and screaming her name over and over and over again.” Words from a “WAITER AT MADDIE’S LAST MEAL” before she vanished.
THE SUN front page: “Maddie ‘gag’ lift.” Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann are hopeful of being allowed to speak out and defend themselves. A judge has asked for a lifting of Portugal’s secrecy laws.
Pages 6 and 7: “AGONY TO COME.” The Sun produces a picture of Kate and Gerry McCann’s wedding day. They are holding Kate’s goddaughter Ellie. There is also a new picture of Madeleine McCann “looking angelic”. Have you seen her? Or are you watching the parents?
THE EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. POLICE TO SEARCH SHRINE FOR BODY.” The McCanns went to Fatima. The McCanns car clocked up 1,709 miles in the fives weeks after their daughter went missing.
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER Pages 2 and 3: “Hand in hand, McCanns go to family church.” The “devoutly Catholic couple” are leaving for church from their “£600,000 home”. Kate McCann is carrying Cuddle Cat.
Pages 4 and 5: “1,000 letters each day in support of the McCanns. Between 500 and 1,000 letters a day arrive at the McCanns’ home. “There are some crank letters,” says a spokesman for the family, “but that’s inevitable.”
None of these letters are believed to point to the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann.
Alex Cayles, a former neighbour of the McCanns, says “I never heard Kate or Gerry raise their voices to their children or anyone else.” Can the same be said of any parents of three very young children?

The Star says police have read Kate McCann’s diary and “claim it reveals she had a motive to kill”.
Pages 4 and 5: “DID KATE HAVE A MOTIVE?”
Well, we haven’t read the diary, but…
“The idea that Portuguese detectives are looking at my daughter’s most personal thoughts and taking them out of context is terrible,” says Kate McCann’s father Brian Healy.
Pages 6 and 7: “HUNT AT HOLY SHRINE.” Is Madeleine McCann’s body buried at Fatima, one of the Catholic Church’s holiest sites? The Star says the couple went there three weeks after their daughter went missing.
We wonder. Is she? Or is she buried in Germany, America, London or Morocco, places also visited by the McCanns?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “New allegations against McCanns - As the McCanns begin a new campaign to clear their names, further allegations emerged over the weekend.”
Oh?
“The hire car: The Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns 25 days after Madeleine went missing. New claims centre on its high mileage. Between May 27 and July 3, it was driven 1,700 miles, with police looking into the possibility that it may have been used to dispose of a body…There were also reports that detectives were waiting for permission from a judge to seize and dismantle the car to search for ‘traces of skin’.”

PS ~ No hard feelings on my part & I apologize if you thought I was asking a serious question. However, I do find some of your opinions outrageous but of course you are entitled to them. I also think some of your statistics are slanted. I was reading through some stuff from the other day which were filled with inaccuracies about missing children numbes by country but I haven’t had the time to respond. Anyway, I do appreciate your views and that’s great that you aren’t on drugs. I’ve solved one mystery this evening.:)

It would be nice, yes, to get accurate azimuth and altitude info from the photograph and compare them with ephemeris. The mirror post claims to have calculated both, and that the azimuth approximately matches. I see no reason to believe this false, since it is so damaging for his case.
He estimated sun altitude from the photo, using the shadow of Gerry’s nose, and assuming that Gerry’s body and neck are actually rigidly in the same configuration as other profile photos of him standing up. This is nonsense. A human body is flexible, and it is very hard to estimate the degree to which Gerry is bending forward from the neck/shoulders in the suspect photo, which the poster.
The estimate of 80deg sun altitude is therefore utterly worthless, and even the method of computing it uses faulty geometry.
What’s more, in order to explain why azimuth matches whilst altitude does not, the poster has to resort to sophisticated image compositing by the McCanns, coupled with them having done ephemeris calculatiions and having set up photos at calculted times. To quote Gerry (but this time I agree) - ludicrous.
If any of you still doubt, I can tell you that the statement about there being nowhere on earth where the sun had an altitude of 80degrees at the time shows total ignorance of the situation. In fact there is at every moment a complete circle on the earths surface where this is true (the intersection of a cone and a sphere). Everywhere this circle is not in the night-time, that sun angle will be observed. Forms the basis of astronomical navigation as used at sea.
Could we do better with proper methods, and get a decent sun altitude from the photo. I have had a good look, and without Gerry to pose, or a complete reconstruction with the hats, I think not. The only decent reference points are on the heads/chests, and indeterminate neck/shoulder bending destroys their worth, short of reconstruction.
If we accept that the azimuth is correct, it isn’t even worth bothering to try.

I showed this to one of my computer savvy kids who spends way too much time perfecting the art of shadowing computer images. I asked if he could visibly spot anything wrong with the photo and if it looked like something was edited in. He immediately singled out Madeleine and said the sun was in a different position on the bigger girl than the other two people.

It was reported in several non-UK media (US, Italy - cannote recall others) the McShams and Fiends (I mean friends) began drinking on the afternoon of May 3rd - NOT THAT NIGHT. It was also reported that when waitstaff and bartender were interviewed who had worked that evening and served HRH Gerry & Kate and The Tapas 9 that there was no crazy up and down to and fro checking-on-babies-choreography (this conflicts with the McSham & Clan Flim Flam story about how they were faithfully checking on their kids every 30 minutes) leaving table to go to apartment and then back again to quiz show-wine quaff-tapas tasting.
There’s a 4 year old missing right now: Madeleine McCann there have been several sightings but the McCanns and PR have never invesitgated these numerous leads. Somethiing which has baffled US crime and child napping specialisits. Something which has baffled the Italians and French as well.
On May 3rd and the following day as the Madeleine mystery unfolded other restaurant staffers also found out about the missing McCann child. Several were shocked and astonished, not only because a young girl had been abducted from her apartment - their place of employment, but because they had had no idea the McCanns had children. They never saw HRH Gerry & HRH Kate with any children. They were honestly convinced that they were a couple and their friends as well - who either did not have children or did not choose to bring them along on this holiday.
Mark Warner desk/reception staff discovered on May 2nd the McCanns and Company had dined a mile from their apartments and had refused the free monitors, evening babysistter service or the dine-in option so their kids would be properly supervised. Several staff were absolutely stunned on learning they had instead chosen to leave their little ones alone and without adult supervision. THe MW staff again very clearly made sure the McCanns and CO knew of the various childcare options if they wished to go out on their own in the evening again. Yet as we all sadly know the McCanns and CO refused these child safety services. Except for one couple who signed up for the free child monitor.
Other reports which I read frequently in non-UK media but never in UK media or if so the story was a little blip. One is that Philomena is purposefully making deceptive reports to the press with Princess Kate & Prince Gerry’s blessing. She is doing this to willfully jeapordize the case against the McCanns which many oustiders believe is far stronger than what the UK media would have you believe it is.
Non-UK media has also reported on outsider-looking-in amazement of all the DNA and forensics testing debunking being bandied about in the UK press so excessively. Of course in the US and elsewhere such evidence has been challenged but not so vociferously in the press prior to any possible court hearing. It’s like the scientists themselves in England have gone back to the dark ages with their assessment before the fact.
And then there is the MASSIVE conflict of interest, media interference, outrageous bias and degradation of PJ and the Portuguese in general, tampering with the justice system and law enforcement in Portugal - again willfully by the MCCann Machinery to slow down the evidence against the McCanns or jeaporadize the case entirely. Many “important” people when contacted by outside media are given false information to throw off critical stories no matter how unbiased and fairly balanced the journalist may be. British sources are doing this to discredit foreign reporters and journalists so that it will create an even greater distrust against PJ and influence foreigners to be blindly sympathetic to the McCanns and Tapas 9.
Recently there’s been a voice of contention against the British sniffer dogs and police dogs from the US. by the UK press and McSham Machine. Dogs who are so well trained in the States they have successfully saved hundreds of people in trecherous situations (avalanches, snow drifts, fires, chemical accidents) detected bombs, drugs, cadavers and their success rate is very high - much higher than what the UK press & McCann Machine spinning numbers round and round are telling you. When a US police dogs passes away they are mourned with great emotion by the officers - they are cherished and valued on the force with complete respect, gratefulness and respect. The British sniffer dogs are more reknowned than the US’s. The British canine unit has an even greater success rate than the US’s - probably the greatest integrity of any animal assisting mankind since the pigeon messengers used in WWII. Don’t let the UK press and McShame PR machine steer you wrong. These intelligent amazing police dogs, unlike people, do not judge by suspects or citizens in trouble using criteria like affluence, cronyism, religious affiliation, nepotism, physical attractiveness etc….These dogs have too much intelligence, love, pride and integrity to get sidetracked by human prejudices and politics.
Madeleine’s voice and that of other abused, exploited and missing children has been silenced. She has been let down by her parents the very people in charge of protecting her, loving her and cherishing her. This awful fact has been buried in the McCann media blitz. Thankfully it has not escaped mention by non-UK press. This story is about justice for Madeleine, Madeleine’s safe return and a coming home for all missing children.

Would you be able to keep schtum because of some law that you thought was hindering the recovery of your child?
Of course not.
And you’d be first to come out with answers to questions about your own involvement if you had nothing to hide. You’d certainly not be storming out of an interview like a spoilt child because you didn’t like a particular question.

Most definitely. That’s what makes me think the story had more planning to it than I first thought. If there were to be errors in the timeline, you’d expect timing errors because some people may not have been wearing watches or had to estimate times. The timeline is just too flawed to make sense and like I keep saying - there’s bound to be other witnesses than just the Negligent Nine who were in the Tapas Bar.

I ‘think’ the McCanns trademarked Madeleine’s name and features because that is the only way they can legally prevent someone else from misusing them. I am not a lawyer so I could well be wrong on this, but I have some recollection of this issue arising over unauthorised china plates bearing the image of Diana (POW). Her sons were unable to sue because her face couldn’t be trademarked.

Of course you can take the obvious negative angle and harbour suspicions that they want to commercialise her and profit from the tragedy, that is your prerogative, but I tend to think it is to stop unscrupulous people from doing just that. I doubt they thought of this themselves, I think someone advised them to do this.
I am not on drugs, seems to be preoccupation with people on your side of the pond. No need to be so nasty. I know that a good way to counter a credible opponent is to discredit them, but resorting to insinuations that I am a drug addict, mentally unstable, have a criminal record, am a pedophile - take your pick - is unnecessary. This isn’t life or death (for us) - just say you don’t agree, without the unwarranted character attack.

If you sat someone in Gerry’s place by the pool at 14:29, you’d get roughly the same kind of shadow. I know we’re almost in autumn now but that will only vary the elevation of the sun by a small amount - the sun will be in the exact same place in the sky today as it would have been on May 3. I’m surprised nobody has bothered to do that. It would only vary the shadow amount - not it’s position.

To be more precise, it is the deduction of the sun angle from the photograph that is total garbage, the method and assumptions are invalid.
The ephemeris calculations are probably accurate, and are used to blind the uninitiated with science.

Interesting article. Like I just said to Blunger…it’s easier to stage a reconstruction to see if the photo is a fake.
And…it’s easy enough to look at the photo header information. Now if Gerry has tampered with that, I’m sure the laptop will have tools on there to do so. You can’t modify the settings without some half decent hacker tools.

Why did Kate McCann ring the police? I would have thought that that would have been better left to someone from the resort management (it would help of course if you spoke Portuguese to explain the problem).
