Madeleine McCann: Call Off The Dogs, Kate McCann’s Tears And Fatima
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
THE TIMES page 9: “McCanns send to US for help against evidence of sniffer dogs.”
Gerry and Kate McCann have consulted lawyers working on behalf of Eugene Zapata in Madison, Wisconsin.
In October 1976, Zapata’s wife, Jeanette, went missing. Her body has never been found. Last year sniffer dogs were brought in and Zapata was charged with her murder. The case went before Judge Patrick Fielder who said the evidence – dogs had picked up the scent of a corpse in Zapata’s basement – was inadmissible. He said the dogs were unreliable.
The dogs have yet to make a comment.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADDY JUDGE: LET ME TELL ALL.”
Pedro Daniel dos Anjos Frias wants to “speak freely” about the case.
Pages 6 and 7: “Mum’s tears at 11am Mass.” Once again the Mirror is all eyes for Kate McCann’s eyes. She is crying.
In church, Father Keith Tomlinson narrates the parable of the Prodigal Son. An eight-year-old child called Molly Earp reads “Jesus please continue to love and protect us, until she is found.”
And then Jesus can have a rest and the police can resume normal duties…
Pages 8 and 9: “On the beach Gerry gave Maddy loads of hugs and kisses, he was a perfect dad..The next time I saw him was about midnight..I saw a man alone, desperate. He was crying and screaming her name over and over and over again.” Words from a “WAITER AT MADDIE’S LAST MEAL” before she vanished.
THE SUN front page: “Maddie ‘gag’ lift.” Friends of Kate and Gerry McCann are hopeful of being allowed to speak out and defend themselves. A judge has asked for a lifting of Portugal’s secrecy laws.
Pages 6 and 7: “AGONY TO COME.” The Sun produces a picture of Kate and Gerry McCann’s wedding day. They are holding Kate’s goddaughter Ellie. There is also a new picture of Madeleine McCann “looking angelic”. Have you seen her? Or are you watching the parents?
THE EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. POLICE TO SEARCH SHRINE FOR BODY.” The McCanns went to Fatima. The McCanns car clocked up 1,709 miles in the fives weeks after their daughter went missing.
THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER Pages 2 and 3: “Hand in hand, McCanns go to family church.” The “devoutly Catholic couple” are leaving for church from their “£600,000 home”. Kate McCann is carrying Cuddle Cat.
Pages 4 and 5: “1,000 letters each day in support of the McCanns. Between 500 and 1,000 letters a day arrive at the McCanns’ home. “There are some crank letters,” says a spokesman for the family, “but that’s inevitable.”
None of these letters are believed to point to the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann.
Alex Cayles, a former neighbour of the McCanns, says “I never heard Kate or Gerry raise their voices to their children or anyone else.” Can the same be said of any parents of three very young children?
DAILY MAIL front page: a picture of Kate McCann smiling.
“MADELEINE:
• Doubt cast on sniffer dogs
• Police frontman quits investigation
• Branson funds the McCanns’ defence
• Witness’s vital new evidence”
Pages 10 and 11:2 “Maddie: Is the case crumbling?”
Chief inspector Olegario Sousa has resigned “in disgust” at the way in which fellow Portuguese officers have been briefing the media behind his back.
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE MUM ON MURDER RAP. Now cops claim to have found ‘a motive’.”
The Star says police have read Kate McCann’s diary and “claim it reveals she had a motive to kill”.
Pages 4 and 5: “DID KATE HAVE A MOTIVE?”
Well, we haven’t read the diary, but…
“The idea that Portuguese detectives are looking at my daughter’s most personal thoughts and taking them out of context is terrible,” says Kate McCann’s father Brian Healy.
Pages 6 and 7: “HUNT AT HOLY SHRINE.” Is Madeleine McCann’s body buried at Fatima, one of the Catholic Church’s holiest sites? The Star says the couple went there three weeks after their daughter went missing.
We wonder. Is she? Or is she buried in Germany, America, London or Morocco, places also visited by the McCanns?
DAILY TELEGRAPH: “New allegations against McCanns - As the McCanns begin a new campaign to clear their names, further allegations emerged over the weekend.”
Oh?
“The hire car: The Renault Scenic hired by the McCanns 25 days after Madeleine went missing. New claims centre on its high mileage. Between May 27 and July 3, it was driven 1,700 miles, with police looking into the possibility that it may have been used to dispose of a body…There were also reports that detectives were waiting for permission from a judge to seize and dismantle the car to search for ‘traces of skin’.”
THE GUARDIAN: No Maddy news today.

Possible answer to #942, you won’t like it. The masonic governments of the world want to decrease the world’s population by 90%. This is a published fact.
G.M. is a nominal Catholic who publicly dissents with Catholic teaching on IVF which the Cathechism of the Catholic Church tells us puts doctors and biologists in an unequal position of domination over the destiny of other human beings. The complete submission of the mind to the Church’s teachings on morality is the essence of Catholicism. Hence, the McCann’s are bogus Catholics and no one ex-communicates them because the Vatican is run by masons who prefer mammon to God. If you research the changes made to the new 1983 Code of Canon Law, you will find that the former law of ex-communication of Catholics who joined up with masonry has disappeared. Knowingly or unknowingly, G.M. has been scooped up to play a role in the advancement of the death industry - abortion, IVF, now euthanasia. Cuddle Cat could be a symbol for the upcoming age of mercy killing when the dominant are “mercifully” allowed to put down the weak who get on their nerves or whatever. The peace that they seek is to be rid of unwanted duties and obligations. It is, of course, a false peace and not the peace that Our Lord gives a truly repentant soul. The McCann’s probably do not know that they are being used as useful idiots but that is how the game is played.

PATRICIA:
Sorry, I’m not convinced that there was a planned death either, but are you suggesting the fact that they took her to the creche, instead of spending a more intimate, cosy, family get-together is evidence that they couldn’t then have broken her neck?
September 18th, 2007 at 12:01 am
947 Paulette - thanks for the praise - so sweet. And don’t worry about forgetting my name - it’s not MY name anyway - just my Anorak name! Could well be French!
September 18th, 2007 at 12:00 am
why do you take your children to the creche anyway. please anyone. if you go on holiday, isn’t that to have so called valuable time together?
September 17th, 2007 at 11:59 pm
Big Yawn (PS) (940): In fact, what I asked at (935) has not been asked before, and I am afraid Wilkepedia doesn’t give this information, but at least my posting made you feel superior, referring me to Wilkepedia as though I am an ill-informed little twit ,which is clearly what you are yourself. And, I would actually like to have any intelligent person’s thoughts on what I referred to in (935).

Spudgun,
Feeling lost it is a good thing you are hanging in..
September 17th, 2007 at 11:57 pm
One reason I am not, at this time, into a planned death is I think the parents would have at least spent the last day with Madeleine instead of taking her to a creche?
September 17th, 2007 at 11:55 pm
STIG;
Have absoloutely no notion of what you are on about, (but given that neither do you, that is nothing consequential). The post number you cite was NOTmade by me. Nor have I ever alledged any Government Conspiracy. Irrespective of whether the McCanns are entirely innocent or are guilty as charged, this Government IS backing the McCanns to the hilt with senior spokesman and advisors, and has done so from the very first day. That is not conjecture or ‘Conspiracy’. It is documented fact. You should try and unearth a few yourself, sometime.

Response to Yawn,
Due to the PR spin recently reading news about the case is exhausting. With so much spin to dispose it is hard to stay focused.
Consideirng the dog sniff reports, death theory, determining the cause would explain why the body needed to be removed. I don’t see much difference, regarding neglect, between a child missing while left alone or having an accident. The only reason to remove and hide a body would be due to the nature of the death. If the child was medicated for night terrors or whatever reason and died that would be an accident which could be explained with much less attention than what the abduction story has created. What about the nature of a death that would be so difficult to explain resulting in the need for a cover up. That thought is disturbing to me.

totally agree. totally
read somewhere that gordon brown’s brother is neighbour to a friend of the mccanns.
Here you go

“His brother John lives in the same street as the McCanns’ close friend Jill Renwick who said: “I stopped him in the street the day afterwards and said, ‘These are my friends. Do you think you could speak to Gordon abut it?’”"

943 - Gressin! Sorry I forgot your name! (It is French?)
My Lord! That HILARIOUS fine piece of satire should be preserved for posterity here on Anorak. I’m thinking about making a collage with the McCann wedding photos and other McChicanery memorabilia.
Oh and I think you should contact the f*ck$ng journalist who stole your beautiful cliche!
Those vultures are here on Anorak. Do what Andrew allegedly has suggested: trademark; brand; patent all clever phrases, insights and personal theories you write on the Anorak boards.

Everything said by anyone, that is in the least ways interpretable as pro-McCann, is given a spin by you to suggest a government conspiracy is behind it all.
You must be a mean tennis player.

931. Wanderer,
I forgot to mention a very important fact. In the first few days of the disappearance Mark Waner staff were freely being interviewed by the press. However, the company is British. They are super worried about a tarnished reputation of a missing child from their resort. They are also in collusion with what the media will and will not report. The MR PR I am certain has forced their employees into silence about anything they may know which is pertinent to this case. But in the first few week several employees werre interviewed by the press.
I believe the MW Resorts hired a special PR guy spefically to handle any blowback or negativity this story may create for them. They are terrified of losing money. They might also be worried about something else. But I am not sure what it could be. Unless the bartender or owner of Chaplin’s could be made responsible for the Tapas 9 drinking themselves silly and not properly caring for their kids?
I don’t know but this all about money from the McScams to the media to the Mark Warner resort to the advertisers who want to sell something to you and with this Media blitz they are all making a lot of money. Plu the medical facilities and pharmaceutical companies some of these people are affiliated with or work for - to all of these people money, revenue, career, social status, reputation are all way more important than poor Madeleine. This is why most reports comment very little on Madeleine herself or anything they are doing to find her. It’s no longer about her - it’s all about damage control now.
September 17th, 2007 at 11:41 pm
And I look forward with interest to your collection of foreign press articles. Keep us posted.
September 17th, 2007 at 11:35 pm
Thanks for noticing Paulette!! (re my blow this case right out of the water phrase getting taken up). It was quite a surprise when I opened the Mirror to see it there myself this morning!
September 17th, 2007 at 11:31 pm
931. Wanderer
I wish when this case first came to light I would have kept recors because I am a bit of a media watcher but anyway we were in the middle of moving and I never did. Then in late June I realized, ‘My God! That little girl is STILL missing?’ I got the creeps right away. I just immediately felt that WHOOSH intuition feeling her parents were involved.
Please note: I never believed the case against the Ramey’s in the States. A well publicized case but occurring just prior to most of us having internet in every home.
I just want everyone to know that I am not a conspiracy theorists, nor do I always mistrust the police or foreigners or wealthy people etc……but this case really got my bull-shit detector signaling alert with all arrows pointing to the parents and then O’brien and Tanner. (Although I am more than willing to be wrong. I am not hung up on any one theory as to what exactly happened.)
I am currently trying to put together articles which are from non-UK sources. It is strange and I could just be tired but I work in research and am having a hard time finding articles even though I know the journalists name.
Also. yesterday I was conversing with I think it was Ian W??? I think he was questioning why the Madeleine site is in English only? Well I visited that site today around 12 noon and lo and behold but it always was in Portuguese and English and non of us noticed this fact or it suddenly went bi-lingual late last night or very early this morning.
Crazy as it sounds poeple are reading the conversations here on Anorak. Mainstream UK media are “borrowing” Anoraks clever euphemisms and the like. And I totally believe the member whose name begins with a “G” who wrote a hilarious send up parody yesterday about SKy News’ publishing of the McCann’s wedding photos. He had used the tired old cliched ‘Blow This Case Right Out of the Water’ but breathed fresh air into it (one of the funniest comments I’ve ever read anywhere!) and don’t you know - this morning one of the UK media orgs used it?!
Anyway, I will try to find it as soon as possible.
The British people I am afraid are being led by the nose with incredible lies and obfuscation by a collusion of gov’t-media-McCanns and Lord-Buddha-Jesus-Diana knows who else.
I am STILL trying to find out why PM Brown and HRH Gerry are allegedly linked? Cannot find any solid on the connection other than that they are Scottish. Also, why is the PM sending someone from his office to act as “advisor” for the McCanns within the first week maybe days (it’s all a blurrrrrrrr) of Madeleine’s death when the UK have an embassy? The UK has British diplomats in every country around the world who’ll assist British travellers.
Something VERY fishy is going on. Not only with the lies about Madeleine’s disappearance but with the UK government issuing a statement which to me sounded as if it was threatening censorship about the McCanns going on in on-line chatrooms. I have never heard of anything like this happening in the 21st century except for in communist and fascist ruled countries. This case gets more bizarre by the hour.
What I will do is I will create a forum hopefully by Friday where I will copy and paste non-UK articles which I’ve found to be either offering information which is either not breached in the UK press or if it is mentioned at all it is quickly swept away and given the impression of being insignificant.
I honestly think that the British public has to make demands on the gov’ officials and on media personnel asking why this is happening. If they won’t listen in earnest to your concerns then everyone needs to begin boycotting advertisers who are buying commerical airtime, webspace advertisements etc……They are making a killing in more ways than one. It is vile!

#933 Cuddle Cat - Warning - not for the easily upset
There are very strange and unnerving things going on. A few years ago, when the Terry Schiavo case made headlines, it was discovered that groups in Florida who were working on the legalization of euthanasia were involved in a cult that worshiped death as the most beautiful thing in the world. Never looked into it, but there was much talk of it at the time. Looks like Cuddle Cat has their taste for the morbid.

LOL - Yeah, you’re right YAWN. I noticed someone has been cutting and pasting the same old stuff from way back when on here each week. Seeing if everyone here is asleep at the wheel. I think everyone’s got their nose so far up some folk’s butt on here that it wouldn’t matter if they lit the place on fire and blew it up - they’d still be saying “SPOT ON!!”. LOL!! When ever at a loss for words, hit the “Spot On” key. Does it come pre-programmed into the keyboard these days?? LOL. Go to sleep, we’ll call you if there’s any new developments. Meanwhile, dont’ quit your day job..

Wake me up before you go-go

(932) “A McCann family source said: “Mitchell still has the key phone numbers and e-mail addresses of people in power and will continue to use them. He has attended top-level briefings at No 10 every weekday for the past two years. The McCanns do not expect help or influence to be exerted on their behalf but want to get messages to the very top that they are innocent. No details relating to the facts supporting their defence have been passed on but that may change.””
They don’t expect help or influence to be exerted on their behalf, yet they specifically (possibly hired? I don’t know), because involved with a man who has such influences. If they are concerned, why not ask him not to use those numbers and e-mail addresses he’s kept from his last job? Surely those “people in power”, some of them in the government, have better things to do on the tax-payer’s money? I know it would be stupid for the McCanns to ask Mitchell not to use his contacts, but to claim that you don’t want to abuse those old contacts, when you obviously will, is simply silly.
“He (Branson) confirmed that he was in talks with other wealthy people to encourage them to contribute to a legal fund as well, and said at least one other anonymous donor was signed up already.”
Once again, not asking or expecting people to exhaust their contacts for you, yet Richard Branson, billionaire, decides he is going to play angel and talk to his other money-bag friends, just for you.
I wouldn’t be annoyed as the McCanns are doing the smart thing, but the whole pious and meek act is getting old.
(934) Yawn: Sorry the lack of news is boring you. I know some people, like myself, are a bit more new to the story, hence the rehashing of links and information. On top of that, some people (understandably) don’t like to read through all of the posts. Hopefully there will be a break in the case at some point, for Madeleine’s sake (and I suppose to cure your boredom).

Re: the ‘Last Photo’. I can’t work out all the mathematical and astronomical complexities but, on a rather more simplistic note: if Madeleine, as is generally reported ,was collected from the creche at 6-pm on the 3rd May how come she is in the ‘Last Photo’ taken at 2.29-pm on the same day? Was she collected from the creche for an hour or two in the early afternoon and then returned there? Has anyone any comment on this?
September 17th, 2007 at 11:11 pm
Strange that however much news there is or isn’t, this forum is always about the same length each day. I now only check for links, and now wonder why I bother even doing that.
The last few days even the links are mostly just recycled old news, often repeated several times in one day’s thread by self-styled geniuses.
I mean. look at this:

Take a few minutes, off the fence now?
….this astounding revelation was about the nth posting of the link on this website (sorry, aptly-named Plod), so I glanced at it, and just before my eyes glazed over, I noticed the original poster mentioned changing the timestamp on the photo as something highly technical he couldn’t get into.
For God’s sake, you could reset it on the camera itself in 10 seconds (before taking the photo and changing it back, or set/reset it later with any basic image-editing software (like one of the many little packages that came with my £70 scanner).
So enjoy your pointless circular chat, guys and gals. And wake me up when there’s actually some news.

I tried to post this last night but it didn’t seem to appear. Anyway it’s been reported that Kate took Cuddle Cat to work and that would explain any smell of death. As far as I know, the PJ have yet to test Cuddle cat, so it would seem to be a pre-emptive defence. But aside from that does anyone else not think it somewhat strange that she claims to have taken it to work in the first place?

Maybe I am a bit slow at cottoning on but why is a senior civil servant being seconded to a couple who are suspects.

(922) Paulette:
“It was reported in several non-UK media (US, Italy - cannote recall others) the McShams and Fiends (I mean friends) began drinking on the afternoon of May 3rd - NOT THAT NIGHT.”
I’ve read they drank a lot at lunch as well, not a crime, but if the amount they drank while at dinner (only a couple of hours later) is a huge question, I think what they drank at lunch should also be considered.
“Several were shocked and astonished, not only because a young girl had been abducted from her apartment - their place of employment, but because they had had no idea the McCanns had children. They never saw HRH Gerry & HRH Kate with any children. They were honestly convinced that they were a couple and their friends as well - who either did not have children or did not choose to bring them along on this holiday.”
I’ve read this before, but never in any papers. Do you happen to remember where you read it? I’m not asking for a link (as finding one again can be tedious), but if you just happened to remember where you heard it from.
I don’t understand why we are seeing more newscasters interview the staff, since the McCanns are quiet, it’d seem like a goldmine of little juicy nuggets of good or bad information, things like if they saw anyone odd hanging around, how they remember Madeleine (I know one waiter has said she was eating ice cream and happy), if they have children/do they feel safe in the area now? Simple things like that, such sources are usually exploited, at least among the lower papers, aren’t they?
September 17th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
926. That’s incredible I MUST look this case up! I am convinced Gerry suffers from NPD. I am not joking about this. He has numerous classic symptoms. They are sadistic parents. And usually have been raised by at least one parent who suffered from NPD. They are in truth empty shells with no personality of their own but need others around them in order to reflect some semblance of normalcy.

1700 miles? yeah right, amazing! the british public can’t even imagine the fact that a european car has got a european meter which most likely counts kilometers - not MILES! i doubt that only a single reporter has thought of that..
