Kate McCann is speaking with Portuguese magazine Flash!. This interview took place before Kate McCann was named as a suspect in Madeline’s disappearance. Kate says the first six months with Madeleine were “very difficult”. Madeleine had colic. “I had to carry her around permanently,” says Kate.
What does it mean, this interview that has “emerged”? That what you tell magazines can be taken out of context and used in evidence against you, or something else?

Gordon Brown is being kept abreast of the investigation on Kate and Gerry McCann, possibly by reading the British press and watching the news bulletins.

The McCanns have a new spokesman. He’s called Clarence Mitchell. He resigned as head of the Government’s Media Monitoring unit to take this new post.
Mr Mitchell once offered: “There’s a whole level of debate taking place online which simply didn’t exist before and departments feel they need to be fully engaged in that.”

Clarence Mitchell says: “They have nothing whatever to do with Madeleine’s disappearance.” And as the McCann’s new spokesman he should know.

Madeleine has not been found but Kate and Gerry McCann will not have to fly back to Portugal for more questioning.
On the downside sales of the “Look for Madeleine” wristband are not going well in Portugal. In “LOCALS REJECTS ‘FIND HER’ BRACELETS,” this year’s Make Poverty History band is being turned down at a car boot sales in Praia da Luz.
Says one ex-pat: “It’s as if they want to forget something so horrible happened.” Or buy something less with their money?
Says another: “We can’t understand how they can carry on jogging after losing Madeleine. Gerry went to a hairdressers a few weeks after she disappeared and continued tennis lessons. The Portuguese feel they should b hysterical.” But not the British, who understand reserve…
THE SUN front page: “MADDIE COPS SLAPPED DOWN. KATE BACKED BY JUDGE. Mum won’t be hauled back to Portugal.”
Judge Pedro Anjos Frias rejected Portuguese police calls for the McCanns to return. “He is thought to have ruled the case to flimsy to justify the move.” Or, to put it another way, he has not received sufficient evidence to be convinced of the need for a trial.
Pages 4 and 5: “COPS CASE COLLAPSING.”
And: “McCanns tell Brown: We have solid defence.” Gordon Brown’s reaction to this news is not known.
THE INDEPENDENT page 32: Thomas Sutcliffe says the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has been “yoked by journalists to another kind of story – the primal faction of fairytale”. Here “the beautiful child is swallowed by something that has emerged from the dark”.
It is, is it not, every child’s worst nightmare.

Kate and Gerry are also keen to reach Gordon Brown. A source tell the paper: “The McCanns do not expect help or influence to be exerted on their behalf but want to get messages to the very top that they are innocent.”

THE GUARDIAN page 35: “Never mind the high street: Branson sells his Virgin Megastores.”
No mention of Madeleine McCann, granted, but this news one day after Branson pledged to help the parents clear their names looks like interesting timing?

If Kate and Gerry did it, I think O’Brien and Tanner must be involved too. Also, Tanner looks more stressed in her photos than Kate. I wonder why?
Even though I don’t see how they could have hidden the body ect. having seen the footage of Gerry talking about the sedatives - looking down to the right, rubbing his ear, higher pitch to the voice, slight giggle - I think they’ve done something bad that they’re obviously shameless about. Maybe it is just leaving the kids for hour and half (I don’t believe this half hour nonsense).

Toni..if Seymour Laws only knew he would creep away holding head in shame over us 2 .!!!!! My step mother and her daughter lived in Toti..(.not together….) after father died. He dropped dead over here, in Brighton.. too many 4am at jazz clubs.. he was avid jazz freak.

Darling, if you don’t tell me right now what really happened I’m gonna tear the European Union into pieces. I’m going to call the Prime Minister.
Darling, now let’s see if we have any options… I’m going to call the Prime Minister to use his powers. F..k the principles of independent investigation and courts of law.
Seriously, even if the UK was an oligarchy were the Prime Minister can influence on or absolve a police investigation, The UK is a part of the EU now and their are many fellow members (+ there is a universal corps of legal system for the EU members) to observe this case with increasing concern. Also it directly is involving two EU countries, not to mention that literally all EU citizens were invited to help financially and to seek high and low for the missing girl. That a Portuguese investigator actually had to ask for some space is too thick to bite.

199..Mirror waiter..sounds a bit embellished to me I am afraid. Then there has been so many unnamed people rabbiting I believe nothing any more except the child is missing, no ransom notes, no prove of abduction and no bodyand that PJ keep everything to themselves, and the team are guessing and leaking guess work as facts, as are tabloids.

207 That is correct, they lived in the same place where RM comes from. Also, interestingly, O’Brien is under some sort of investigation and GM is the main witness for him! And why did it take Tanner so long to come forward, especially since this has now been proved to be a lie. She said she left tapas bar 5 mins after GM and passed him in the alley. On way back from apartment at approx 9.20 she sees man carrying child running away. GM says he left tapas bar at 9.00 to check on Maddie and twins. See’s Maddie isn’t in her own bed but doesnt check the other room (ODD). See’s Wilkins/Wilkinson tennis partner guy in alley and chats till approx 9.25. Wilkins/Wilkinson corroborates this, as HE says he got back to his apartment at 9.27. Both he and GM deny ever seeing Tanner or mystery man.
Also, Tanner got back to table at 9.25. Why then did O’Brien leave at 9.30 to check on the child again? And why did he only press his ear to the door of the apartment? And why did KM only re-check her own kids again at 10? Surely O’Brien came back and said couldnt hear anything from your apartment, to which the reply would be: what do you mean? oh, I just listened at the door and it was quiet says the bearded one, ok I will nip back now quickly says the responsible parent!!

I want Nicole Kidman to play Kate, damnit! Not Cate Blanchett - I work in the theatre, no one gets the actors into more of a jealous rage than one-face-fits-all Cate.
Russell Crowe is aggressive enough to be Gerry, but not slimy or nasally enough - Tom Cruise would be perfect (but that would never happen) so how about Robbie Coltrane, if they can keep him away from the pies?

Because they know where she is…..they know that she will come back and is safe and sound (maybe with the Nanny?) somewhere….this is all a set up from start, middle and end.

198 As I said earlier, why did Tanner allege to see GM when she was going to her apartment to check on her pucking child? GM and that Wilkins/Wilkinson guy he played Tennis with have both said that they did NOT see Tanner at that time, nor did they see this guy who supposedly ran off with a child who looked like Madeleine.
SO, WHY did Tanner lie about this? Where did she go if not to the apartment? Why does O’Brien say he can’t speak unless GM okays it first?
