Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat Innocent, Private Detectives & Kate McCann’s Hot Lips
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “WE’LL FIND HER OURSELVES. Maddy parents bring in SAS private detectives”.
Kate and Gerry McCann have hired Control Risk Group, billed as a “crack security firm”, to find their daughter.
Page 5: “THE PROFESSIONALS” – There’s TV show in this. The Portuguese police could be the Keystone Cops, at least that’s what the tabloid press portrays them as.
“Millionaire ex-double glazing boss” is the mystery benefactor paying McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell’s wages. The former window cleaner owns Sale Sharks ruby union club. Look out for their new sponsor.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘McCanns ARE LYING’ - Portuguese police says friends are in cover-up.”
Robert Murat is to be told he will not face charges. Kate and Gerry McCann will be the only named suspects.
“SMILING” – The WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPERS leads with a picture of Kate McCann grinning.
Pages 4 and 5: “Kidnap? We just don’t; believe it.” It is reported in Portugal that an unnamed Irishman has come forward to say he was in the same place as the McCanns’ friend Jane Tanner. She told police she had seen a man carrying child dashing from the Ocean Club resort in the direction of Robert Murat’s home. The new witness says he saw no-one.
“’GUILT’ OF PARENTS - More than 60 per cent think the couple know what has happened to Madeleine.”
“WHEN KATE WAS HOT LIPS HEALEY” – 15 YEARS AGO Kate was nicknamed hot lips for her resemblance to Loretta Swit in TV comedy M*A*S*H. The Express has seen her Dundee University year book and the comments - “Kate was great fun”; “renowned for alcoholic binges and some ‘dance till you drop’ nocturnal activities”; “she was certainly more interested in going to the pub than she was in her studies” etc.
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: PARENTS ARE LYING. Cops say McCanns & friends tried to frame suspect Murat.”
Pages 4 and 5: “McCANNS ‘ARE LYING’.”
A phone poll: “DO YOU BELIEVE THE McCANNS ARE LYING?” Let’s see if we can top that 60 per cent in the Star’s sister paper the Daily Express. Vote now and vote often.
THE SUN pages 12 and 13: “TWIN’S LIFT FOR MUM AND DAD.”
Kate and Gerry McCann are with son Sean. They have been to Mass. Kate sobs when Ave Maria is sung. Daughter Amelie is in nursery school. She is plying with the Cuddle Cat. She bursts into laughter, “her giggles rang around the building”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “Madeleine:
• Ex-SAS team joins hunt
• New sighting in Morocco
• Kate breaks down in church
• Police accused over forensics”
Page 8: “McCanns hire an ex-SAS team to hunt for Maddie.”
“Second witness supports sighting in Morocco” – Remember when Marl Pollard said she saw Madeleine in Morocco? Now we lean that a man also saw Madeleine in Morocco.
THE INDEPENDENT PAGE 17: “Murat no longer suspect.”
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 10: “McCanns hired detective firm with ex-SAS men”. Under Portuguese law, the McCanns are not permitted to carry out their own investigation in Portugal. But they can investigate in other countries.
THE TIMES front page: “McCann investigators” – McCanns hire private security firm.
Pages 12 and 13: “How they managed to turn campaign around.” The McCanns are “winning the propaganda war”. They have gone on the “offensive”.
A family source says: “It is for the police to prove they are guilty.”
GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today.

The story that the crack SAS were employed “4 months ago” is spin, unattributed and unconfirmed…. like most of the mcconn bullshit of the last 2 weeks since their new PR man started work.
September 24th, 2007 at 2:48 pm
Todays Telegraph quotes the mccon PR
“They are a family facing possible bereavement,” he said. “They hope desperately that the next phone call is ‘We have found her and she’s OK’.
With the mccans constantly on their phones to the media to spin their defence stories, I wonder if someone has found Madeleine but they cant get through to the Mccans phone as its constantly engaged.
Its interesting how all the inconsistencies highlighted in this and other forums, are one by one being attemptedly answered by the mccan’s new pr man…
Look out for tomorrow’s headline:
“Mccans setup dedicated hotline for Madeleine sightings”

Before I go… Do we believe two doctors would let their little daughter go around with an open bleeding knee at airports and places in this world of AIDS and say hepatitis and other diseases? …don’t think so.

away from the MMC case but in the vein of neglect….
The parents of the boy who drowned in a gravel pit lake have been going for it in their criticism of the community police officers who didn’t go diving for the boy who was under the water.
It may only be me, but did anyone else wonder why the parents had no concept of their own part in the tragedy by letting their 5 children, all around age 7,8,9, (assorted step-siblings) play unsupervised in a place like that?
Just ruminating on perceptions.

The tapas9 picked poor Murat as a scapegoat to cover up the truth.
They mislead the police with lies, made the police accuse an innocent person of a crime.
In full awareness they distroyed Murats life. This behaviour of the tapas9 is a crime itself. I hope, at least for this one, they will have to go to the court.

My 3-year old insists on wearing make up and steals my lipstick. But it’s the parent’s nasty responsability to decide and say the no word.
So why is the MC Team hiring detectives to find Madeleine NOW? How could they live all these months until now not doing that? Especially when the “whole world” was loudly suggesting the very thing, since the beginning??? A suspicious mind would suggest that by now all the real evidence has vanished…

doesn’t sound likely.

I’m not disputing that. I just don’t think that in this case the child has been abducted.

I have no idea. I looked at the video, try pausing it at 00:50. It looks to me like Madelines left knee could be hitting the edge of the step quite hard there. No - I am not kidding. There could be a nick in the aluminium edging that is quite sharp, so what looks like just a bit of a bang might be worse due to the sharpness producing a puncture wound. I have certainly gotten numerous grazese on a knee through clothes that have bled - some without me realising it.
Lots of things are possible. Because they have the video, I imagine the McCanns would pour over it - for lots of reasons. So they go aha! that must be it. But Madeline could have injured herself at a latter point, not even realising it herself or complaining to her mum because when kids are having an exciting time they ignore stuff like that.
You have kids? If so, can you honestly tell me you have never discovered a bleeding wound on your child that you have no idea as to how it occurred, the child has no idea either and never noticed it being caused?

rather than the way you do it, which is to try to make nothing out of everything do you mean?
September 24th, 2007 at 2:37 pm
my argument against this is that surely it would be easier to just go buy a child for a few dollars from somewhere poor.
problem with this is the child wouldn’t look european.

just because something is nasty, doesn’t make it impossible.
September 24th, 2007 at 2:35 pm
firestar, stop trying to make something out of nothing. Again. You’re making yourself appear very dubious….

How can anyone in their right mind believe crack SAS troops have been searching for a little girl for 4 mounths?

Did you know the person on the plane personally, or was this someone ‘close to your family’
The child prostitution thing I don’t believe, but maybe that’s just me.

From Publishers Weekly
Founded in 1991 as a nonprofit forensic investigative team, NecroSearch International specializes in homicide cases shelved because of “corpus indelecti” that is, a body cannot be produced as evidence that a murder has taken place. Coming from a wide range of backgrounds geophysicists to “cadaver dog” specialists to chemists and rank-and-file cops the members of NecroSearch combine their skills to produce the most proficient (and most exciting) detective work since Sherlock Holmes. They take the coldest cases and comb for hidden graves on rural hillsides, in suburban backyards and at the bottom of mud-choked riverbeds, searching for remains that have been buried anywhere from two to 20 years. (Or 70, as in the notorious Romanov family case.) Having sharpened his true crime teeth on Monster, Jackson competes here with two other books on forensic science to appear this season: Michael Baden and Marion Roach’s Dead Reckoning and Corpse by Jessica Snyder Sachs. But while those books concentrate on the establishment of forensic methods as formidable weapons in the fight for criminal justice, this book combines the burden of scientific proof with rousing tales of police work out in the field or the quarry, the Rocky Mountains or someone’s backyard. The book covers the group’s quirky beginnings and digs into its most important cases suspensefully; Jackson’s sharp eye misses nothing in the painstakingly rendered details. A must-have for true crime fans, it should also be of great interest to anyone fascinated with the practical applications of science. 32 pages of photos not seen by PW.

i didn’t mean anyone was trying to make the twins look sexy.
i was thinking more that if the twins were seen made up, it wouldn’t look odd if pictures of madeline wearing makeup were questioned,
i.e thay all wear it, whats wrong with that.
my girls used to like dressing up like mum.
but not at that age.

was she 18 months old at the time?
September 24th, 2007 at 2:28 pm
the reason i first saw the makeup was someone on the plane home from portugal saying the twins had eye shadow and lipstick on.
i wondered at the time if this was to deflect people questioning the photo’s.

That I cannot believe. Actually, that’s the only thing I don’t think the McCanns have done.
September 24th, 2007 at 2:24 pm
on the issue of make up and crimped hair, my little daughter used to play with my make up and dress up like i think most kids do, as for the crimped hair, this can happen if the childs hair is plaited the day before and left in over night. i dont really read much into this as a form of making the kid look sexy at all

There is an election due here in the UK. Majority of the population couldn’t care less - there is no opposition. Media is in decline - people not buying newspapers, not watching TV news - turning in droves to the internet and forums.
How to manipulate an election result: Promote a story that will grab the popular imagination for months. Print rumour and hearsay as fact, misinform and mislead. You’re either for or against. Result - newspaper sales increase, viewing figures increase - people are engaging. Lionize then demonize the parents, they know they will be OK because they’re in on it. Great time to bury other news (losing two wars, floods, foot and mouth, financial credit meltdown.)
Call an election for the end of Oct - rush out manifestos with more unpopular measures(ID cards, anti-terror laws, erosion of civil liberties)- who will bother to read as the press will be full of another sighting, revelation, sensation.
Then, just before election day, child is found unharmed with childless couple.
These poor dupes will be either be killed resisting arrest by the SAS (our brave lads) or, if they are caught, commit suicide before trial.
Establishment will be vidicated, foreigners will be villains, parents - “we told you so.”. They will give balance of fund to NSPCC as a gesture of goodwill minus expenses and pocket the millions not showing on the totalator for the troubles
Feel good factor day before the election = landslide victory for government.
Believe nothing - entertain possiblities…….
September 24th, 2007 at 2:22 pm
For what’s it worth, I don’t believe in the make-up things. I really think that picture was just what it was : a girl who just had something to eat or drink and licked her lips.
September 24th, 2007 at 2:21 pm
just found this, i’ll find the source if i can.
What stood out this whole time, for me, was the lipstick, make up, and hair crimped photos on a child that young. I am not sure if that is normal in the UK–so I let it go. Getting so “sexy” as a practice, struck me as shallow and the mother wanting the child to be “sexy” and just over the top. Children that young do not desire to be “sexy.” The Mother pleasing the father or making a clone of herself, crossed my mind–but very posssible this shallow mom smacked the kid accross a room. I am not sure with what force you need to hit a kid? Anyone know? I do feel the Mom is a narcissistic personality.

Am I to change my pseudonyme again or maybe just shut up. My name is just pointing out the fact that those people are innocent at the time being based on the principles of independent investigation. I also want to point out I’m keen on finding out, in the end, that they are innocent without a doubt. That means the inquiries are to prove they are innocent - not just the mcCann’s to tell us they are innocent. There is the possibility that they are not innocent which is of equal importance to come to light, if not a even more important piece of information.
Child neglect issues are to live on any way…A broken mirror would explain the mcCann’s fail to see they did wrong leaving the toddlers alone and thus inviting trouble.
I know many people that sometimes show up drunk and I can tell you there is nothing genuine in a person’s mind or behavior when drunk. You really are beyond yourself then. So it’s easy to fake or hide genuine reactions.
Which brings me to a lie detector test. Surely do doctors know how to manipulate (e.g. with tranquillizers) lie detector results?
Sorry for violating the English language.
