Pages 4 and 5: “Kidnap? We just don’t; believe it.” It is reported in Portugal that an unnamed Irishman has come forward to say he was in the same place as the McCanns’ friend Jane Tanner. She told police she had seen a man carrying child dashing from the Ocean Club resort in the direction of Robert Murat’s home. The new witness says he saw no-one.

If CRG has been involved in an active sense since late May it will have cost a fortune. The company if approached for any kind of advice is going to state that it does not discuss what has transpired between themselves and another party. It just adds to the sense of lack of clarity and keeps the journalists in a job.

A team of crack ex-SAS operatives? Give me strength.
A bunch of dried up thugs with no-where to go. They have no jurisdiction and no policing powers. Uniforms are forbidden as are weapons. They have no language capabilities, no ideas and no knowledge of Portuguese people, geography or culture.
But if you, like I, have spent enough time on golfing holidays in the Algarve, you’ll see plenty of them hanging round in English “theme” pubs, wearing English football shirts and getting drunk before 11:00 a.m.
Leave the Portuguese police to handle this situation their way.
Without the unwanted UK media attention, public contributions, tacky bracelet sales on the internet, tycoons and double glazing cowboys showing off their wealth and jumping on the bandwagon, things might have gone faster and smoother. Whether it was the McCanns, Murat or an unknown abductor, all they are doing is fueling the egos of the deranged.
For a country which is still unable to jail Steven Lawrence’s vicious killers after 15 years, even though everyone knows who they are. A country which releases the evil murderers of Jamie Bulger back into society – at society’s cost. A country in which an 11 year old boy is murdered in a drive-by shooting by an elusive adolescent on a bike in front of a host of witnesses. A country which is unable to find ten’s of thousands of missing children, close files on at least a dozen adolescent shooting in the past year or
contain violent street crime…. I think Britain should shut up, or put up. In the meantime, I give up.
Fore the record, I am not Portuguese. In fact, I do not particularly like Portugal. But I respect their right to judge, convict and carry out their duties as their laws decree.

nononethere, if you are attempting to highlight someone else as a “hate monger” I feel you are being somewhat hypocritical by alluding to that individual having a problem when it comes to kids, hence the mentioning of “sexy” etc.
Just to point out, although maybe a little insensitive and crass, “kiddy fiddler” is an oft-used phrase in the UK to describe a paedophile. And it is certainly not usually used for the purpose of humour.

The Moroccan secret police have been investigating the Mari Olli ’sighting’ of Madeleine and they are still working on it. Why an abductor would want to have the abductee able to talk to other people (Olli states that she clearly heard the girl speak so must have been very close) and have her stand a metre away from in in a tourist city is odd.
The Yorkshireman sighting was across the road from the garage at the Ibis hotel (some sources state in the lobby) on the same day. The suspected abductor appears to be very bold don’t you think? Unless I had already seen a photo of Madeleine I do not think I would recall if it was the same girl - so many at that age look alike.
Additionally we have not been given a description of the man - apart from dark-haired - so is GM.

Perhaps a journalist picked up the story about CRG being involved but grasped the wrong end of the stick? Maybe CRG aren’t involved (if they are) for their “investigative” services but for their “crisis management planning”.
Perhaps they are just another branch of the PR team advising the McCanns on how to handle the press etc.

As a mother I don’t think that the make-up and kinked hair is particularly significant … at about 3 years most little girls realise that they are ‘like’ Mummy and want to emulate her:
If Mum is a person who spends time and attention on make up, jewellery and hair then her daughter/s will want to do the same.
If Mum is a person who only primps and preens for special occasions then her daughter/s will just emulate her in other ways.

Do those people who believe in the McCanns innocence not realise that if it were so there would simply not be so much disputed ‘evidence’ or contradictions that would need explaining away. You really would have to be blind not to accept that the parents at least know something they’re unwilling to tell us about.
