Madeleine McCann: Robert Murat Innocent, Private Detectives & Kate McCann’s Hot Lips
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “WE’LL FIND HER OURSELVES. Maddy parents bring in SAS private detectives”.
Kate and Gerry McCann have hired Control Risk Group, billed as a “crack security firm”, to find their daughter.
Page 5: “THE PROFESSIONALS” – There’s TV show in this. The Portuguese police could be the Keystone Cops, at least that’s what the tabloid press portrays them as.
“Millionaire ex-double glazing boss” is the mystery benefactor paying McCanns’ spokesman Clarence Mitchell’s wages. The former window cleaner owns Sale Sharks ruby union club. Look out for their new sponsor.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘McCanns ARE LYING’ - Portuguese police says friends are in cover-up.”
Robert Murat is to be told he will not face charges. Kate and Gerry McCann will be the only named suspects.
“SMILING” – The WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPERS leads with a picture of Kate McCann grinning.
Pages 4 and 5: “Kidnap? We just don’t; believe it.” It is reported in Portugal that an unnamed Irishman has come forward to say he was in the same place as the McCanns’ friend Jane Tanner. She told police she had seen a man carrying child dashing from the Ocean Club resort in the direction of Robert Murat’s home. The new witness says he saw no-one.
“’GUILT’ OF PARENTS - More than 60 per cent think the couple know what has happened to Madeleine.”
“WHEN KATE WAS HOT LIPS HEALEY” – 15 YEARS AGO Kate was nicknamed hot lips for her resemblance to Loretta Swit in TV comedy M*A*S*H. The Express has seen her Dundee University year book and the comments - “Kate was great fun”; “renowned for alcoholic binges and some ‘dance till you drop’ nocturnal activities”; “she was certainly more interested in going to the pub than she was in her studies” etc.
DAILY STAR front page: “MADDIE: PARENTS ARE LYING. Cops say McCanns & friends tried to frame suspect Murat.”
Pages 4 and 5: “McCANNS ‘ARE LYING’.”
A phone poll: “DO YOU BELIEVE THE McCANNS ARE LYING?” Let’s see if we can top that 60 per cent in the Star’s sister paper the Daily Express. Vote now and vote often.
THE SUN pages 12 and 13: “TWIN’S LIFT FOR MUM AND DAD.”
Kate and Gerry McCann are with son Sean. They have been to Mass. Kate sobs when Ave Maria is sung. Daughter Amelie is in nursery school. She is plying with the Cuddle Cat. She bursts into laughter, “her giggles rang around the building”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “Madeleine:
• Ex-SAS team joins hunt
• New sighting in Morocco
• Kate breaks down in church
• Police accused over forensics”
Page 8: “McCanns hire an ex-SAS team to hunt for Maddie.”
“Second witness supports sighting in Morocco” – Remember when Marl Pollard said she saw Madeleine in Morocco? Now we lean that a man also saw Madeleine in Morocco.
THE INDEPENDENT PAGE 17: “Murat no longer suspect.”
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 10: “McCanns hired detective firm with ex-SAS men”. Under Portuguese law, the McCanns are not permitted to carry out their own investigation in Portugal. But they can investigate in other countries.
THE TIMES front page: “McCann investigators” – McCanns hire private security firm.
Pages 12 and 13: “How they managed to turn campaign around.” The McCanns are “winning the propaganda war”. They have gone on the “offensive”.
A family source says: “It is for the police to prove they are guilty.”
GUARDIAN: No Madeleine news today.

507 - And Mod. that is not a dig at the McCanns. It is my real concern. If they are innocent (which they could easily be) then I just wish they would channel their attention into really clearing themselves of involvement in her disappearance and switch the limelight back onto that little girl.

Because either through incompetence or malicious intent, the PJ seem to have done their utter best to eradicate any possible trace of evidence their might have been.
Stig, you condescending fool I wasn’t gonna reply to any of your posts anymore cause you have got shit in your eyes, but… the moment kate announced that she suspected that her child had been abducted, she inadvertantly declared the apartment a crime scene. The mccanns then lets no less than 20 people into the apartment in order to nullify evidence.
so don’t talk to us about the pj’s damaging evidence.
IF THEY ARE GUILTY I HOPE THEY SWING (OOOPS!!!THEY ALREADY DO)

“The ease at which he would comment on the inane daily routines of life instead of talking about what they were doing to find their baby was senseless.”
If YOUR child had been abducted, would you advertise to the abductor what you were doing to find him?
September 24th, 2007 at 5:40 pm
499 - Stig. Pity the McCanns also don’t have time to answer questions or we might all be able to find out what happened to Madeleine a lot quicker.
September 24th, 2007 at 5:39 pm
In the UK, the main criticism pf parents is that they are becoming too protective of their children, not letting them go out on their own, standing over them when they are playing on swings.
You can’t have it both ways.

494 - Mod. I am delighted that there are people sticking up for the McCanns because I like the fact that this is a forum for debate and discussion and the odd rye smile. Without your contributions (and those of your fellow McCann supporters) this would become very tedious.
But what I don’t like (and see my post 422) is that because I am not convinced of their non-involvement that I - and my fellow doubters - are in some way castigated on a personal level. Not riduculed or insulted for our views or questions - but as people. That to me is doing exactly what you accuse us doubters of doing to the McCanns.
So please can we all share our toys nicely now and continue to try to find out where that poor little girl is.
September 24th, 2007 at 5:36 pm
494 Of course not. I have my point of view, you have yours. THAT’s democracy.

This passage from II Samuel Chapter 12 (below) is said to be the crumpled page in Kate McCann’s Bible. In it, David is punished by God by seeing his young child die.
The lead-up to these events is of interest (previous chapter - II Samuel 11).
King David espies the beautiful Bathsheba from the roof of his palace. He lusts after her. He then hatches a plan to send her husband - Uriah the Hittite - into battle, giving specific instructions to his commander-in-chief, Joab, to set Uriah ‘in the forefront of battle’.
David knows perfectly well that Uriah is likely to die in battle. As soon as David learns that Uriah is dead, he begins a passionate relationship with Bathsheba and she becomes pregnant.
They were luckier with theyr second child.
It was Solomon:
——————————————————–
II Samuel 12 vv 1-23
1: And the LORD sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor.
2: The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds:
3: But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter.
4: And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him.
5: And David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the LORD liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die:
6: And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.
7: And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;
8: And I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things.
9: Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon.
10: Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife.
11: Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun.
12: For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.
13: And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.
14: Howbeit, because by this deed thou hast given great occasion to the enemies of the LORD to blaspheme, the child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
15: And Nathan departed unto his house. And the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bare unto David, and it was very sick.
16: David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth.
17: And the elders of his house arose, and went to him, to raise him up from the earth: but he would not, neither did he eat bread with them.
18: And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
19: But when David saw that his servants whispered, David perceived that the child was dead: therefore David said unto his servants, Is the child dead? And they said, He is dead.
20: Then David arose from the earth, and washed, and anointed himself, and changed his apparel, and came into the house of the LORD, and worshipped: then he came to his own house; and when he required, they set bread before him, and he did eat.
21: Then said his servants unto him, What thing is this that thou hast done? thou didst fast and weep for the child, while it was alive; but when the child was dead, thou didst rise and eat bread.
22: And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether GOD will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
23: But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.

I love this site. I don’t watch soaps, but I can see how addictive they can become. This is my first cybersoap. Wasn’t this site the first to use “The Tapas 9″? If so, Google it and see just how many others are using it, too, even Yahoo.
There’s been talk about children being left unsupervised. I live smack in the center of a city in Portugal and at night, late for other countries standards, I hear the sounds of kids playing. I’ve looked out and they’re at a cafe with their parents, who don’t allow them to wander around. There are no school buses here and a lot of the kids have to walk quite far. The school is on my corner and every morning I see the kids with one or both of their parents being walked into the school grounds. I’ve never seen a child walk alone and this is a safe city. Perhaps that’s why?

“i can’t see the police making exhibits up.”
Unfortunately, I can - some of the officers being investigated for a previous child disappearance case, are being investigated for falsifying evidence. - among worse things
Ever considered the MOST likely source of such a manual - if the story is true - would be that it was brought to Portugal by the British Police who came to assist.

Can you pick up on my theory 270 about injury to the knee?
The best one I got was a few posts later.
Thanks.

Here’s one of many Forum commemts on the Net from people who want their money back from the ‘Find Madeleine Fund’:
“I myself am outraged, I donated 30.00 to the find Maddie fund - and if it turns out Kate knew all along she was dead I hope she faces charges of fraud along with manslaughter charges”
September 24th, 2007 at 5:09 pm
It seems obvious to me that there are several posters on this forum who are trying to curb free speech and for the most part, these posters are firmly in the ‘protect the poor McCanns from bad words/bad thoughts’ camp. No need to name names, as it has been obvious to all who they are.
I’d like to suggest that ridicule and attacks against other posters end here. Everyone should be able to talk about the case and speculate, feeling free to express their opinions about it. Those who try to stifle debate only make their case look weaker.
The McCanns opened this can of worms when they chose to supply the media with refutations and explanations on a daily basis in response to the speculation and leaks are supplied to and by the media. If they would have taken a firm stance that theirs was a legal issue and not comment publicly on the case, except to say that Madeleine is missing and they had nothing to do with that (other than leaving their wee ones alone unsupervised for long periods of time) and please keep looking for her, this tennis game of volleying rumor, speculation, and hearsay back and forth would have ended some time ago. They are keeping the media feeding frenzy at full roar by providing daily meals to it. They have opened themselves to public criticism and discourse of this information by their active participation in it. They are as responsible for tainting a possible jury pool as anyone in the media or blogosphere.
I believe the McCanns are guilty of something more than just leaving their kids alone, although that is terrible enough all on its own. You don’t do that much shuffling and dancing around if the facts were simple and you were honest. Everything about the McCanns in this case smells to high heaven to those who are watching and reading and are open to the possibility of their involvement. I’m sick of it all and yet feel compelled to follow it (for now) until a resolution is found. Except for the guilty party(ies), we all want answers–the sooner the better. Sadly, we may never know what the truth is. To my way of thinking, this is more than likely, considering the great lengths and expense gone to by those in high places to support and protect the McCanns and influence the investigation.
