She told police she had seen a man carrying child dashing from the Ocean Club resort in the direction of Robert Murat’s home. The new witness says he saw no-one.

This article is quite detailed as it says the blood on the floor was fresh when it went onto the floor (ie it could not be from an old scab which dropped off) whereas the DNA in the car came from MM’s corpse at a later time.

it would make perfect sence though, a hint from the pj to the journalist that murat was odd would lead her to believe she had a scoop, thus fortifiying the mccanns belief that they were above suspicion.
Gerry mimikin throughout has maintained that he has been working as one with the pj to secure the return of maddie or at the very least a conviction of a patsy

The confrontation set up by the police was to find out if he was around the night Madeleine disappeared, he had said he was at home and knew nothing of the unflsing drama until the next day but he was allegedly seen by two of the group and other independents. There was an irishman in there somwhere but I can’t remember where!!!
it wasn’t to do with the man seen with whatever in his arms…. there was no identification of him, just speculation.

A very dear friend of mine went through i.v.f 3 times unfortunatly to no avail.She had to inject herself daily with hormones after the embryos were placed inside her,to help to sustain a pregnancy,Could this be the syringe found in the maccann apartment that was menchioned a while ago???They could have been at the final stages of i.v.f on their hols!,maybe it worked and Hey Presto! 4-5 months pregnant?

Bulldump, it is again possible Murat was a willing participant, but he would certainly have to be a little eccentric. And the PJ would have to be confident that the case would be solved thereby allowing them to disclose the truth about Murat to the public.
It all sounds a little involved to me.

Considering some of the sins committed here, I would have thought ‘patronising’ would come a fair way down any list of offensiveness, if you were to sort them. In retrospect I think I was probably being to earnest - if it comes acrosss as patronising, well, so be it, as I have never laid claim to having particularly effective communication skills.
Which posts do I not read thoroughly? There are many I don’t read at all, but I try to read those I choose to respond to.

Re Morocco sightings… I meant to attach the link from months ago which mentions the Yorkshire man who claimed to have seen Madeleine in Morocco not long after she disappeared. Can anyone else remember this and where can I find the link? This has been treated as a ‘new’ claim to a sighting of her and yet I know I have read about this before.

caroline the bbc have been pro mccann since day 1 and it is very very difficult for them to back peddle now without looking anymore foolish than they already do.

Bulldump, the idea that Murat was set up to gauge the reliability of the witnesses is interesting, but surely unlikely.
I would be pretty upset if the police ruined my standing in a community as a tool to capture somebody else.
But I do still wonder why members of the Tapas 9 were so sure it was he they had seen. Was this a different person to whom Tanner claimed she had seen with a kid wrapped in a blanket?

i did wonder for some time and there was a fair amount of support regarding as to whether murat, who was formally associated to the police in the uk and in portugal was still working for the pj in some capacity. Surely even as an interpreter his credentials would have been checked and they would have been able to check his unblemished character
inviting the tapas fibbers to come and meet him (which would be unprecedented in the uk)
would automatically render them as bogus witnesses as soon as they identified him

600 - I said before I was cynical.Like Marlene Deitrich, I can’t help it!
I trust you’re better at acting than arithmetic! If she became pregant from IVF it would have been 5 months ago - in April. I was speaking about IVF which would have to be done in England - for obvious reasons including the secrecy of it given the media attention they’ve been getting.
Yes, it’s possible in May that she became pregnant naturally. Refer to my comment on Mother Nature. BUT, it’s highly unlikely that a 39 year old woman, who for 10 or more years could not get pregnant on her own other than through IVF, would miraculously get pregnant the same month her first child an IVF baby, goes missing.
If it’s viewed as a coup for the McCanns as you suggest, than luck truly is on their side in terms of dodging the bullet and getting away with everything the way they seem to be doing on this whole ordeal!! I think it opens them up to more questionable behavior and scrutiny. No, not for having sex. But for the fact that, it reflects a disrespect for their missign child. It’s a public perception - I am referring to here.
Again, I say a natural, unassisted pregancy in May for Kate McCann wtih everything going on, is just HIGHLY IMPROBABLE - statistically speaking - but NOT IMPOSSIBLE - yet TOO COINCIDENTAL.
Time will tell and soon we will know whether this is true or not. For now, both you and I are merely speculating on something that neither of us know today.

593 Bulldump, that is what I remember reading at some point. And if this is the case it would appear strange. At the least it would render Tanner’s description dubious, and would mean that the veracity of any future identifications would have to be questioned. At worst it suggests something else.
I don’t think the PJ ever really entertained the idea of abduction, hence the lack of interest in this alleged sighting and the description. However, this could be due to an inept investigation.

I understood that although a reporter looking for a scoop had suggested something, the PJ already had him on their radar; he is well known in Praia for being eccentric which is always a crime isn’t it??!! (well lock me up now!)
Two of the group of friends were convinced they saw him that night during the search, as were other independent witnesses, but he swore he was with his girl-friend but then changed it and said he was with his mother. This is what made the PJ make him an Arguido… his change of alibi. A couple from the group were called back to Portugal to confront him.
is he innocent? I think so but in Praia he is still viewed with suspicion and I think he will have to leave. His mother was similarly accused on this forum of harbouring Madeleine in the hidden room for him!! yeah right!
The whole thing is getting curiouser and curiouser.
I wonder what the next big internet story will be?
