I really hope not, bulldump. But I must admit, if I were writing the manual for volunteer (or paid) forum disrupters, I think I might include this as a strategy.
Just such a threat, superficially believable but then withdrawn as a joke a bit further down the page. Just enough to set hearts a flutter, if only momentarily.
Actually, if one was either totally unscrupulous, decently paid, or blessed with black/white thinking patterns, playing such tactics might be quite fun. Forum trolling for real, in what you felt was a good cause, however mistaken others might think you to be.

Just so you know Stevo - I made this name up as a parody of kate.
I was in here a few weeks ago and for some reson mods and admin banned me from the whole site - then let me back in after a while.
That was when everyone believed the McCanns were holier than thou so I assume it was because I had a different opinion.
Just for the record though I was not having an argument with anyone.. being rude ..libelous or even using several usernames - just thought the McCanns were liars. I was stunned to find my I.P address banned though - made me feel like a rebel…lol

So, Anorak ‘have been obliged to hand over those IP addresses’, have they? Well, we’ve not heard from ‘Mods and Admin’ about that subject - and the Anorak Forum and the Madeleine McCann threads are still going. And there are plenty of McCann-sceptics on other blogs and forums.

All I can say in my case is ‘bring it on’. A libel case would mean that I would have a chance to expose every lie by the McCanns, every deception by the McCanns, evey manipulation by the McCanns and every evasion of responsibility by the McCanns for their actions, in a highly public forum. And I would be entitled to cross-examine them about the events of May 3rd.
I dare say that some will run scared if they get a threatening letter from Michael Caplan. Oooh! I forgot! Michael Caplan *Q.C.*!
But I won’t. I’ve got time. I’m not worried about costs. I’ll represent myself as I am a Solicitor.
