The case against Kate and Gerry McCanns is “hanging by a thread”.
A police sources says: “There is a determination within the force to bring this investigation to a satisfactory conclusion but there is a growing fear that without a body, that goal will be impossible.”
Pages 4 and 5: “Our reputation is tarnished forever” – Each day the McCanns prepare themselves for the “worst case scenario”. No, not that they will be wrongly convicted, rather they will learn of Madeleine’s death.
Clarence Mitchell says: “In the middle of this people forget this is still a family who are potentially facing bereavement but are still in that awful limbo position of not knowing what has happened to their daughter.” Thankfully Mr Mitchell is on hand to remind people of this every day.
“Doubts on the McCanns by a lie detector expert” – THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER asks John Ryan, of International Truth Verification Technologies Institute, to listen to Kate McCann’s voice. Says she: “However I think there is some sort of deception when I hear the lady speaking, either over the event or in avoiding showing her true feelings”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE – find a body or there is no case.”
Page 5: “Gerry and Kate have often talked about the possibility of Madeleine being found dead. That would be the worst news but it would at least give them some..CLOSURE”. So says a “source close to the legal team”.
Antonio Cluny, President of the Public Prosecution Service, says: “Without the little girl’s body, everything is complicated… In the Maddy case, there is no confession and, according to what has been made public, the evidence gathered up until now keeps all leads open – from abduction to homicide or at least to a simple accident”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “EXCLUSIVE: Eyewitness reveals Maddie’s mother DID shout: ‘They’ve taken her’ after four-year-old vanished. WHAT KATE DID SCREAM.”
Nanny Charlotte Pennington is in Praia da Luz. She hears Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her!” The McCanns say Kate screamed “Madeleine’s gone”.
Sensation. Front-page news.
Page 4: “Nanny Pennington, who worked at the Ocean Club, is pictured. She’s wearing a brown beret and a pink coat. Her tights are black. Her legs are crossed.
“I was in the apartment less than five minutes after they found that Madeleine had gone. When we were coming out we saw Kate and she was screaming: ‘They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her’… It might not have been the first thing she said. But she definitely said it.”
So…
“She also repeated Madeleine’s name and said: ‘She’s gone, she’s gone.’”
Anyone hear anything else?
THE SUN page 24: “MADDIE LAW CHIEF: NO BODY, NO CASE.” Antonio Clunes says: “There have been cases in which it was possible to obtain a conviction without a victim – but there were confessions.”
But the McCanns are innocent, says a source. And they are not confessing. They are talking through their spokesperson.
DAILY STAR front page: “COPS CLOSE IN ON MADDIE. Final pieces of tragic jigsaw falling into place.”
Pages 4 and 5: “FIND THE BODY OR THEY WALK. Law bosses tell Portuguese cops to step up hunt.”
“TWINS’ HOUSE OF LOVE” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns have built a “house of love” for their family. Mr Mitchell says the McCanns are living “every parent’s worst nightmare times ten”. Mr Mitchell used to work for the tabloid press.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 13: “Case against McCanns ‘rests on finding body’.”
Clarence Mitchell says: “They did not harm, let alone kill her.”
THE TIMES page 11: “No body, no conviction says McCann police.”

I don’t have to go “out of my way” to read the Anorak forums. When I typed “Madeleine McCann” into google , this particular page came up as the 2nd item today. So it was right there on my Highway.

As I said the site says it was taken in August, I guess Interpol is lying because they too must be part of the McCann PR team. The sos madeleine site has actually posted a lot of neg press regarding the McCanns so I don’t see why they would be interested in turning the focus away from the McCanns. Isn’t this afterall about finding Madeleine.

No one has got it in for the Mccans without good reason.
The Mccans have all along insisted Madeleine has been “abducted”. Are you aware of a single shred of verifiable evidence of an abduction? The PJ certainly arent.
The sightings of young, 3-year old blonde girls is bizarre. Just go to any toddlers school anywhere in the world… all 3 year old girls share similar height/size characteristics and a large portion of them have blonde hair. Does that mean they’re all Madelein Mccan?

Time to out the friends.
If I was a newspaper reporter this is what I would be focussing on.
Leave the McCanns alone - they will not crack - but the friends might!
Lets start with the friends who smell of corpse - who are they?
Why do they smell of corpse - do they also remove their protective clothing and rub themselves on dead bodies in hospitals? No wonder superbugs are triumphant!
I know a few doctors and hygeine is their thing!!!!
So where are the journalists?????
The McCanns are the big story of the day - so why have they STILL NOT shown photographs of certain Tapas 9 members????
This is one of the reasons the Freemason theory comes round now and again - it is almost as if the 7 doctors are under some sort of media protection.
We all got angry at the McCanns for leaving their children alone that night - but they and some of the other couples ALSO left children unattended theat week!

I’m not the one publicly convicting people of murdering their own children based on random pieces of information I read in a crappy foreign tabloid. The mind boggles. Can he not see that all doors hinged on the left hand side as you look at them open outwards no matter what room your in. The doors are put there for illustration purposes only. Nothing more. I do it sometimes when drawing plans using turbocad. And does he believe that the Portuguese builders are as dumb as the PJ. In that they’d have two doors opening up towards each other in the tiny hallway space opposite the bathroom.
Get real ADEPOOS. It just goes to show how you’ll believe anything to convict the McCanns.

Thanks for your views. If police are indeed corrupt enough to extract a confession by beating a women or cover up 20 years of sexual abuse in an orphanage (though granted these are two different cases) why do we attribute such blind trust in their intention and abilities.

Human beings are the third most commonly trafficked commodity in the world after drugs and guns. There is no question that police can and have been complicit in these transactions. It doesn’t mean they are in this case, but something strinks, if you ask me. And it’s not a “nappie”.

I come here every day because I”m curious. It’s sort of like slowing down to get a good look at a bad car accident– one cannot help but look at things that are so appalling!! Plus, I keep thinking that surely by now some reasonable minds with more time on their hands than I’ve got will have infiltrated the forum and talked some sense into you morons, particularly since, under the glare of public scrutiny, the evidence increasingly points AWAY from the McCanns. But I can see how that would be an overwhelming job for any rational person — it’s like arguing with evangelical Christians who think evolution is bunk. It’s not worth your time!

In other words it is not being reported as fact. That article was dated 25 Sep.
I remember what really happened - Kate was an absolute wreck the first week or so and certainly didn’t go for a run the day after - that is pure bull. When she did first go for a jog a big thing of it was made in the paper, but it wasn’t until many days later.

By the look of things, the kid is obviously safe and well and will be flown home from Morocco by the McCann investigators for a special reunion with her parents on Saturday. All the Murdoch Sundays will have exclusive stories and Sky News has already scheduled a Sunday evening special wrapping up the whole case.
That will leave all the poisonous people here who’ve been peddling the most virulent untruths about the McCanns all looking rather stupid - although I’d guess it won’t be an unfamiliar sensation for them

looking at a french translator, it states in August and that it was not followed up by the police. I guess they were too busy with leaks to the press. By the way Interpol handed the photo over.

984 - LOL - I always wondered about that. Oh well, he could be a cat too. Do hippos have whiskers? Cuddle Cat does! Sort of like a pink panther/cat/hippo all wrapped into one delightful cuddly cuddle.
Seriously, I was wondering why they didn’t keep cuddle cat with her. Why wouldn’t they have kept little cuddle cat with her to keep her safe? That breaks my heart to think they didn’t even give her the decency to keep her favorite toy with her in the end.

Re. 879 / Photo of Madeline in Morrocco - I do not want to pour cold water on this and I hope the child is still alive, but why is she the only one looking at the camera, or in the direction of whoever is taking the picture? It is also too indistinct to tell if it is Madeline. If there is any chance at all that the child is still alive, then the McCanns, their A-Team and the police would all, in my opinion anyway, be better off shutting up and backing off and lulling the ‘abductors’ into a false sense of security.

The Moroccan photo looks a LOT like Madeleine to me but I think the photo is too blurry to say either way. I’ve compared Maddie’s stated weight/height with my daughter (who is the same age as Maddie) — they are nearly identical in size, actually — and the girl in the picture looks exactly the right size/age to me.
