Madeleine McCann: A House Of Love, Find the Body & What Kate McCann Screamed
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘FIND BODY OR McCANNS WILL ESCAPE’ – Prosecutors ultimatum to Portuguese police.”
The case against Kate and Gerry McCanns is “hanging by a thread”.
A police sources says: “There is a determination within the force to bring this investigation to a satisfactory conclusion but there is a growing fear that without a body, that goal will be impossible.”
Pages 4 and 5: “Our reputation is tarnished forever” – Each day the McCanns prepare themselves for the “worst case scenario”. No, not that they will be wrongly convicted, rather they will learn of Madeleine’s death.
Clarence Mitchell says: “In the middle of this people forget this is still a family who are potentially facing bereavement but are still in that awful limbo position of not knowing what has happened to their daughter.” Thankfully Mr Mitchell is on hand to remind people of this every day.
“Doubts on the McCanns by a lie detector expert” – THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER asks John Ryan, of International Truth Verification Technologies Institute, to listen to Kate McCann’s voice. Says she: “However I think there is some sort of deception when I hear the lady speaking, either over the event or in avoiding showing her true feelings”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE – find a body or there is no case.”
Page 5: “Gerry and Kate have often talked about the possibility of Madeleine being found dead. That would be the worst news but it would at least give them some..CLOSURE”. So says a “source close to the legal team”.
Antonio Cluny, President of the Public Prosecution Service, says: “Without the little girl’s body, everything is complicated… In the Maddy case, there is no confession and, according to what has been made public, the evidence gathered up until now keeps all leads open – from abduction to homicide or at least to a simple accident”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “EXCLUSIVE: Eyewitness reveals Maddie’s mother DID shout: ‘They’ve taken her’ after four-year-old vanished. WHAT KATE DID SCREAM.”
Nanny Charlotte Pennington is in Praia da Luz. She hears Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her!” The McCanns say Kate screamed “Madeleine’s gone”.
Sensation. Front-page news.
Page 4: “Nanny Pennington, who worked at the Ocean Club, is pictured. She’s wearing a brown beret and a pink coat. Her tights are black. Her legs are crossed.
“I was in the apartment less than five minutes after they found that Madeleine had gone. When we were coming out we saw Kate and she was screaming: ‘They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her’… It might not have been the first thing she said. But she definitely said it.”
So…
“She also repeated Madeleine’s name and said: ‘She’s gone, she’s gone.’”
Anyone hear anything else?
THE SUN page 24: “MADDIE LAW CHIEF: NO BODY, NO CASE.” Antonio Clunes says: “There have been cases in which it was possible to obtain a conviction without a victim – but there were confessions.”
But the McCanns are innocent, says a source. And they are not confessing. They are talking through their spokesperson.
DAILY STAR front page: “COPS CLOSE IN ON MADDIE. Final pieces of tragic jigsaw falling into place.”
Pages 4 and 5: “FIND THE BODY OR THEY WALK. Law bosses tell Portuguese cops to step up hunt.”
“TWINS’ HOUSE OF LOVE” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns have built a “house of love” for their family. Mr Mitchell says the McCanns are living “every parent’s worst nightmare times ten”. Mr Mitchell used to work for the tabloid press.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 13: “Case against McCanns ‘rests on finding body’.”
Clarence Mitchell says: “They did not harm, let alone kill her.”
THE TIMES page 11: “No body, no conviction says McCann police.”
THE GUARDIAN & THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news.

Now why would PJ not follow up on credible leads? Hmmm. Maybe because someone higher up knows where she is - Goncalo Amaral, anyone?
Just playing the devils advocate.

Hey, krissie
So you’re excuse for ending up here is that the Anorak article was the 2nd one listed for today’s news on Madeleine McCann?
How does that explain your coming here ‘every day’ before today?
Did you just come here in the hopes of picking fights?
September 25th, 2007 at 11:22 pm

I read this on the Daily Mail site from 22.09.07
‘The Evening Standard yesterday revealed that Kate McCann first realised something was wrong when she went to open the bedroom door to check on her daughter at 10pm.
She said a blast of wind from the open window in the bedroom caused the door to slam shut as she held it.’
If the window was in the childrens bedroom and the door opened outwards wouldnt a gust of wind from it blow the door further open not closed?

1039 Jolie. So far as I can tell, 90 percent of the people who post on this forum, outlining all the reasons they think the McCanns are guilty, have one basic reason they think so: Because they “don’t like them,” because they “don’t act right”. IN other words, because they don’t like the looks of them McCann folks. There is no evidence here either way. I have no idea whether the McCanns are guilty or not, but neither do you! Yet you are on here trying to publicly skewer a potentially innocent person , accusing them of MURDER, based on your own online perusals of the case. Sick, sick, sick!!

Jane 1012, photos of Leonore’s injuries is in the Daily MAil along with Goncalo Amara looking as though exiting one of the his whiskey lunches with the tabloid press, which his team’s alleged to sell leaks to. I would post the link but moderation stops me.
Joana Cipriano, age 8, was by neighbors’ accounts (ab)used by her mother as a Cinderella-like family slave and errands’ runner:

Well if the parents can sit at home or in meetings with their criminal defence lawyers and PR agents without any apparent effort to co-ordinate a search in Morocco, why should anyone else believe she could be in Morocco?
If Gerry Mcconn really believed his daughter was alive in Morocco, why isnt his 100k per annum PR agent organising a televised appeal on Moroccan TV and in national papers there in arabic?
The mccans do nothing naturally or instinctively as grieving parents with top advisers would. They only react, months later, when public opinion is highly against them and they risk being pointed at again.

Oh, and to Puzzled. What Puzzles me is how you have time to spend every waking hour of your life on the Anorak forums bashing people you’ve never met and about which you know almost nothing, and accusing them of crimes you have no evidence for. What a Puzzlement!! Indeed!!

Is she gone?
krissie was great wasn’t she!
not as good as Nancy though. I really miss her.

sorry I meant to word it as “claimed” sightings, regardless they should always be checked out especially in countries where it is unusual for that many blonde little girls to be running around with the locals. This photo was not followed up by the PJ as it was handed over in August, going by what the sos madeleine reports. At that point the PJ had given up completely on looking for Madeleine because they believed that she was dead. None of the supposed evidence actually proves that Madeleine really is dead.
September 25th, 2007 at 11:14 pm
I spent most of the summer enduring people bending down and staring my kid in the eyes - checking her out - it got to a point where I thought - lets make a T-shirt with …this is not the dead girl you are looking for.
I was understanding to most but after a while i got a bit shirty - my kid is a year younger with bright white blonde hair and bright clear blue eyes - so when you next hear of these …sightings …bear in mind how stupid some people are at descriptions…remember how the egg head man turned into Murat?
Is that madeleine? they whisper…check her eyes out!
McCann supporters said that it never happened to them and they had blonde kids and that I was making it up - but a few of my friends had the same thing happen - and since we were on holiday abroad people were more jumpy.
But jumpy to the extent that they wanted so badly to find her they would see whatever they wanted to see - hearts in the right place but heads in the clouds!!!!
September 25th, 2007 at 11:13 pm
997 - Bye Patricia! We shall miss you….
Are you really leaving or just pretending?
No one ever gets out of this place alive they say!!
Too bad we can’t have a virtual going away party for her. That’d be a riot!!!
September 25th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
I hope the little girl in the photo taken in Morocco is Madeleine - if it is, it surely won’t take too long to find her. Fingers crossed.

What you are is someone who has taken a firm stance based on your belief these people are innocent, without having any proof of that yourself. You might find some day that you’ve been defending liars and murderers while hurling insults at the people who had the good sense to notice something was clearly off about this couple.
Many people who are questioning the McCanns’s behavior and suspecting their guilt have said they are open minded and welcome new evidence to come to light which would clear them. Meanwhile, you use your broad brush to paint everyone with the same crude putdowns. How old are you?
September 25th, 2007 at 11:12 pm
Oh shame on all of you! This truly is shameful! Bleeech. I can’t stomach any more today. So long, for now. I’ll stop back by after Madeleine turns up to watch your groveling.

Sounds like your sloppy drawing skills are something you feel is acceptable, just like leaving small children unsupervised, perhaps. Doors can be hinged either side and can open either way. There is no single rule. Your problem is that the unusual door exposes your team’s fabrication of stories and you don’t like it. gerrykins has dropped the hiding behind the door story anyway it appears so a new version of events should be in preparation, one hopes.
Keep spinning - you will fall over soon. They have computers in Cuba apparently and a proper health service with real doctors…
Sun forecast for tomorrow. I think some fresh air and playing some music may be in order - if that’s OK with the McCanics of course…

There weren’t “3 independent sightings of Madeleine in Morocco”. There were 3 people who thought they saw a girl matching Madeleines description.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of blonde 3-year old girls with similar size/build and hair characteristics.
All previous alleged sightings investigated by the PJ, with DNA tests, proved false and mistaken.
