DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘FIND BODY OR McCANNS WILL ESCAPE’ – Prosecutors ultimatum to Portuguese police.”
The case against Kate and Gerry McCanns is “hanging by a thread”.
A police sources says: “There is a determination within the force to bring this investigation to a satisfactory conclusion but there is a growing fear that without a body, that goal will be impossible.”
Pages 4 and 5: “Our reputation is tarnished forever” – Each day the McCanns prepare themselves for the “worst case scenario”. No, not that they will be wrongly convicted, rather they will learn of Madeleine’s death.
Clarence Mitchell says: “In the middle of this people forget this is still a family who are potentially facing bereavement but are still in that awful limbo position of not knowing what has happened to their daughter.” Thankfully Mr Mitchell is on hand to remind people of this every day.
“Doubts on the McCanns by a lie detector expert” – THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER asks John Ryan, of International Truth Verification Technologies Institute, to listen to Kate McCann’s voice. Says she: “However I think there is some sort of deception when I hear the lady speaking, either over the event or in avoiding showing her true feelings”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE – find a body or there is no case.”
Page 5: “Gerry and Kate have often talked about the possibility of Madeleine being found dead. That would be the worst news but it would at least give them some..CLOSURE”. So says a “source close to the legal team”.
Antonio Cluny, President of the Public Prosecution Service, says: “Without the little girl’s body, everything is complicated… In the Maddy case, there is no confession and, according to what has been made public, the evidence gathered up until now keeps all leads open – from abduction to homicide or at least to a simple accident”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “EXCLUSIVE: Eyewitness reveals Maddie’s mother DID shout: ‘They’ve taken her’ after four-year-old vanished. WHAT KATE DID SCREAM.”
Nanny Charlotte Pennington is in Praia da Luz. She hears Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her!” The McCanns say Kate screamed “Madeleine’s gone”.
Sensation. Front-page news.
Page 4: “Nanny Pennington, who worked at the Ocean Club, is pictured. She’s wearing a brown beret and a pink coat. Her tights are black. Her legs are crossed.
“I was in the apartment less than five minutes after they found that Madeleine had gone. When we were coming out we saw Kate and she was screaming: ‘They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her’… It might not have been the first thing she said. But she definitely said it.”
So…
“She also repeated Madeleine’s name and said: ‘She’s gone, she’s gone.’”
Anyone hear anything else?
THE SUN page 24: “MADDIE LAW CHIEF: NO BODY, NO CASE.” Antonio Clunes says: “There have been cases in which it was possible to obtain a conviction without a victim – but there were confessions.”
But the McCanns are innocent, says a source. And they are not confessing. They are talking through their spokesperson.
DAILY STAR front page: “COPS CLOSE IN ON MADDIE. Final pieces of tragic jigsaw falling into place.”
Pages 4 and 5: “FIND THE BODY OR THEY WALK. Law bosses tell Portuguese cops to step up hunt.”
“TWINS’ HOUSE OF LOVE” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns have built a “house of love” for their family. Mr Mitchell says the McCanns are living “every parent’s worst nightmare times ten”. Mr Mitchell used to work for the tabloid press.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 13: “Case against McCanns ‘rests on finding body’.”
Clarence Mitchell says: “They did not harm, let alone kill her.”
THE TIMES page 11: “No body, no conviction says McCann police.”
THE GUARDIAN & THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news.

I agree too, about the boring site bit.
I am not bothered who is anti or pro mccann. I come on here to read peoples opinions and try to piece together the mystery for myself. I would so love to be pro mccann have no doubts in their innocense, look forward to maddie being returned safely, from a person who had taken her to look after her as they couldnt bear their own. but alas, I personally dont think thats going to happen. for the record I am currently anti mccann, due to the way they have no remorse or guilt about their willful neglect of their children. But, I would like to apologise here and now to the mccanns. Im sorry mr and mrs mccann if i am wrongly doubting you as far as the disappearance of madeleine, but its due to your own pr and the way you portray yourselves in the press as victims. You give me no reason to beleive you. I want to be wrong, none of us want anything other than the truth. Your stories change daily almost, and none of us know whats what anymore. Just open up and be honest. we all want to find maddy safe and well, and i think i speak for everyone on that point, but you are making it harder for yourselves
if however you are found guilty then you still have to take the responsibility of your own actions right from the start.
Until then I will wait for a reaso to get back on the fence and maybe fall off the otherside.

303, actually William wrote a great essay on the pleasure of hating, which is relevant to this and nearly every media obsession.
And while pro-McCanns might get smug about some of the anti-McCann haters - there’s been some extreme/mock hatred expressed towards the PJs, Murat, the anti-McCanners… no one is not-guilty of that particular crime.

It is worth reading and perhaps someone who is not a luddite could copy it here.

This place has become boring.
The spindoctors supporters never answer questions and just attack people personally on this forum wheras the non supporters ask relevent questions and get relevant answers from each other.
Seems like anyone that supports the McCanns act in the same way as Gerry when faced with the truth - they have a little tantrum and storm off…lol

It’s 280 I think. yep it’s a bit garbled te be sure behorrrahhhggh. What I meant was… that what you wrote is more eloquently put than the best that I have seen coming from the McCannoSet “PR Team” in their media output. It’s meant as a compliment.
I did think for a minute that it actually is from the “Team” but now realise it cannot be because it is so good. As you are so good they would benefit enormously if you were one of their writers - even if you didn’t believe in their cause. I know people who can do that as a “job” - not me though.
Now why didn’t I write that in the first place? I dunno but I’ve been worried a lot about the drainage in the lower field so maybe that was on my mind. I’ll get me coat…

You get 404 not found.
However (and here’s the interesting, to me, bit)
The same “nanny” story is in the link underneath.
“McCann’s eyewitness nanny: ‘Murat WAS near apartment the night Madeleine disappeared’.”
So the spin machine has spun the story from what Mrs McCann said to the sighting of Mr Murat.
The same spin is found in the story “No charges.” the idea being given that the case is moving away from the McCanns back to Mr Murat.
It appears that someone in the McCann camp was not happy with the news that Mr Murat might not be a suspect for long.

ere daveb 103, the reason why anorak’s viewing figures have gone down so much in the last week is cause the anti mccanns and those who speak the truth are so fucked off with the crap spouted by the mccanns pr people with all the spin and tosh turned out, they’ve got bored and can’t be arsed any more. but you mark my words just wait til its a bad news day for the mccanns, they’ll come flooding back. So when you’re having your next progress meeting with clarence you might like to mention that.
