Madeleine McCann: A House Of Love, Find the Body & What Kate McCann Screamed
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘FIND BODY OR McCANNS WILL ESCAPE’ – Prosecutors ultimatum to Portuguese police.”
The case against Kate and Gerry McCanns is “hanging by a thread”.
A police sources says: “There is a determination within the force to bring this investigation to a satisfactory conclusion but there is a growing fear that without a body, that goal will be impossible.”
Pages 4 and 5: “Our reputation is tarnished forever” – Each day the McCanns prepare themselves for the “worst case scenario”. No, not that they will be wrongly convicted, rather they will learn of Madeleine’s death.
Clarence Mitchell says: “In the middle of this people forget this is still a family who are potentially facing bereavement but are still in that awful limbo position of not knowing what has happened to their daughter.” Thankfully Mr Mitchell is on hand to remind people of this every day.
“Doubts on the McCanns by a lie detector expert” – THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER asks John Ryan, of International Truth Verification Technologies Institute, to listen to Kate McCann’s voice. Says she: “However I think there is some sort of deception when I hear the lady speaking, either over the event or in avoiding showing her true feelings”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE – find a body or there is no case.”
Page 5: “Gerry and Kate have often talked about the possibility of Madeleine being found dead. That would be the worst news but it would at least give them some..CLOSURE”. So says a “source close to the legal team”.
Antonio Cluny, President of the Public Prosecution Service, says: “Without the little girl’s body, everything is complicated… In the Maddy case, there is no confession and, according to what has been made public, the evidence gathered up until now keeps all leads open – from abduction to homicide or at least to a simple accident”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “EXCLUSIVE: Eyewitness reveals Maddie’s mother DID shout: ‘They’ve taken her’ after four-year-old vanished. WHAT KATE DID SCREAM.”
Nanny Charlotte Pennington is in Praia da Luz. She hears Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her!” The McCanns say Kate screamed “Madeleine’s gone”.
Sensation. Front-page news.
Page 4: “Nanny Pennington, who worked at the Ocean Club, is pictured. She’s wearing a brown beret and a pink coat. Her tights are black. Her legs are crossed.
“I was in the apartment less than five minutes after they found that Madeleine had gone. When we were coming out we saw Kate and she was screaming: ‘They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her’… It might not have been the first thing she said. But she definitely said it.”
So…
“She also repeated Madeleine’s name and said: ‘She’s gone, she’s gone.’”
Anyone hear anything else?
THE SUN page 24: “MADDIE LAW CHIEF: NO BODY, NO CASE.” Antonio Clunes says: “There have been cases in which it was possible to obtain a conviction without a victim – but there were confessions.”
But the McCanns are innocent, says a source. And they are not confessing. They are talking through their spokesperson.
DAILY STAR front page: “COPS CLOSE IN ON MADDIE. Final pieces of tragic jigsaw falling into place.”
Pages 4 and 5: “FIND THE BODY OR THEY WALK. Law bosses tell Portuguese cops to step up hunt.”
“TWINS’ HOUSE OF LOVE” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns have built a “house of love” for their family. Mr Mitchell says the McCanns are living “every parent’s worst nightmare times ten”. Mr Mitchell used to work for the tabloid press.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 13: “Case against McCanns ‘rests on finding body’.”
Clarence Mitchell says: “They did not harm, let alone kill her.”
THE TIMES page 11: “No body, no conviction says McCann police.”
THE GUARDIAN & THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news.

Hi, I’m back for now.
I read the article and saw the picture of the girl on the man’s back. Hopefully I am wrong but the date of the picture being taken, the best I could determine, was the end of August. This is the end of September. My guess is the police would be able to determine in that length of time if the child was Madeleine? If I understand correctly the picture would have been taken a month ago?

870 the Real Stig or anyone else,
Have a look at this photo taken in Morocco in late August. To date there have been 3 sightings there, st

Police have not yet acted on this. I am shocked that they have not. I thought all line of inquiry were still open.

BLOG IS NOT MISSING!

I agree the missing blog is such a giveaway… What next, a new version in dumb-doctor speak or another gap ‘cos nothing to report has happened? They really are rattled, I fear.
Funny but we are actually manipulating them, whichever way you look at it. Without this forum that event would not have happened. Just like without child neglect Maddie would still be here. Elementary my dear Watson…

No they might not count but its funny how I read that ages ago, and also they were warning Gerry to get out of portugal or they would be framed!!!
And that was happening, most things I read from the clairo site have been happening, and sure they have not found her because where he says she is is not the exact location but describes it well.

I’ll tell you why stevo…….because the more the McCanns try to do, the more they get knocked back and look suspicious by people like you. What ever they try to do, there will always be people like yourself looking for a different angle.
They believe their daughter was kidnapped. They have tried to make it as public as possible in the hope that someone may notice her. But thats seen by some as
odd. But its worked hasn’t it, the world knows what she looks like. Trouble is, the PJ have cocked up, leaked info to the Portuguese press to create some spin, and everyone who hates them for leaving the tots asleep in bed believes il and jumps on the guilty bandwagon.
Not me though, and I’m not pro McCann, I do think they were negligent, however, I look at this whole case with a bit of ‘common’. And to me they’re innocent of anything other than leaving the tots on their own.

Yes they have, unlike of Team McCann - especially the fragrant couple themselves.

I believe that in the nanny article it says that the nanny and 3 waiters saw him there. But it doesn’t mean, of course, that he was there previously.

Sorry…yes I read your point about the missing blog. I do find that stuff strange but then it’s business as usual with the McCanns to find evidence tampering.

860 Denise - ‘Murat is a liar’ - I would be careful if I were you. Can you back that up?
September 25th, 2007 at 9:23 pm
Why wouldn’t the Mccanns hire private people, the portugese police can’t do their job properly and find her, they have not even followed up sightings of her?
September 25th, 2007 at 9:23 pm
860 - Denise
Who are the 4 that said they saw him that night and where did you read it?
To the best of my knowledge, clairvoyants’ testimony doesn’t count as providing evidence in criminal or civil cases.
September 25th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
Doesn’t anyone want to comment on the weird FACT that the September 24 blog entry supposedly written by Gerry McCann has been deleted from the Find Madeleine website? Just minutes after it is mentioned in this blog commentary and commented on as strangely unlike previous blog entries written by Mr. McCann?

Skimming through the new nanny sort is being used as evidence of Murot being there. Yup at just before 10 maybe - like probably the whole of the street with all that shouting. Doesn’t make him there when Tanner said so earlier though.
tanner is obviously lying and my money’s on Tanner/O’Brien being the couple who will go back for questioning. I recall a few days ago there was a short piece that police were about to arrest a man in Exeter. That’s where O’Brien moved to from Leicester.

I still asked you to show us dates for the jogging and you haven’t. I’d hate to have you on a jury - you’d go on your gut feel and opinion rather than facts.

murat is a lier and I believe he has something to do with the abduction, WHY else would 4 people say they saw him that night and not just the Mccanns friends ????? Think about it?? And he does liase with the police alot so probably all in it together,
About 2 months ago on a site, by a clairovarant, he said if hair was found of Madeleines, it would have been planted by the police and that Murat had something to do with it as well, she is probably still hidden in portugal hidden in Murats basement

Kate and Gerry McCann provoked the fury of the Portuguese authorities after it was revealed they had hired private investigators to help find their daughter Madeleine.
The McCanns were accused of using diversion tactics.
A senior judge said their actions could prompt charges of obstruction of justice in the hunt for the missing four-year-old who has not been seen since May 3.
(Daily Telegraph about 6 hours ago)
Anyone else see this - the need to tread carefully methinks.
Maybe their legal team who have been busy over the weekend building a ‘defence case’ (Timesonline yesterday) need to work out another defence against obstruction charges.

I know…I’m thinking Garth was ARSE earlier in the day.
September 25th, 2007 at 9:18 pm
Evening all.
Been away. Shattered!
Have they found her yet?
September 25th, 2007 at 9:18 pm
I think the girl in the pic is very similar looking to Madeleine. Same coloring and I agree it looks like her hair may have been growing out moreso than the high forhead. The bangs look like they are over her eyes. What do you think about the possibility that this photo has been digitally tampered with? With Adobe you and add and subtract subjects from any photo.

Correct. That’s why the story about him being at home due to cellphone information is baloney.

Now your picking on a ‘technical error’. It works both way you know. Okay so you think they had something to do with her disappearance. I stand corrected if it makes you feel better………..and I can’t be bothered to read all posts…….they are very repetative.
stevo wrote
I’m not saying they were calculating. I’m not saying they planned and executed something. I’m just saying that on May 3 they lost a daughter and they haven’t shown emotions consistent with a parent losing a toddler. Of course they’re dumb. That’s why they’ve become suspects. Their actions defy logic.
Thats your opinion and we’ll agree to disagree

Both may be telling the truth. Sometimes you see people and mistake people for someone else. If there were lots of people milling around that night - and hey, don’t forget it was dark, then the nanny may have confused Murat for a lookalike.
