Madeleine McCann: A House Of Love, Find the Body & What Kate McCann Screamed
MADDYWATCH - Anorak’s at-a-glance guide to press coverage of Madeleine McCann.
DAILY EXPRESS front page: “MADELEINE. ‘FIND BODY OR McCANNS WILL ESCAPE’ – Prosecutors ultimatum to Portuguese police.”
The case against Kate and Gerry McCanns is “hanging by a thread”.
A police sources says: “There is a determination within the force to bring this investigation to a satisfactory conclusion but there is a growing fear that without a body, that goal will be impossible.”
Pages 4 and 5: “Our reputation is tarnished forever” – Each day the McCanns prepare themselves for the “worst case scenario”. No, not that they will be wrongly convicted, rather they will learn of Madeleine’s death.
Clarence Mitchell says: “In the middle of this people forget this is still a family who are potentially facing bereavement but are still in that awful limbo position of not knowing what has happened to their daughter.” Thankfully Mr Mitchell is on hand to remind people of this every day.
“Doubts on the McCanns by a lie detector expert” – THE WORLD’S GREATEST NEWSPAPER asks John Ryan, of International Truth Verification Technologies Institute, to listen to Kate McCann’s voice. Says she: “However I think there is some sort of deception when I hear the lady speaking, either over the event or in avoiding showing her true feelings”.
DAILY MIRROR front page: “MADELEINE – find a body or there is no case.”
Page 5: “Gerry and Kate have often talked about the possibility of Madeleine being found dead. That would be the worst news but it would at least give them some..CLOSURE”. So says a “source close to the legal team”.
Antonio Cluny, President of the Public Prosecution Service, says: “Without the little girl’s body, everything is complicated… In the Maddy case, there is no confession and, according to what has been made public, the evidence gathered up until now keeps all leads open – from abduction to homicide or at least to a simple accident”.
DAILY MAIL front page: “EXCLUSIVE: Eyewitness reveals Maddie’s mother DID shout: ‘They’ve taken her’ after four-year-old vanished. WHAT KATE DID SCREAM.”
Nanny Charlotte Pennington is in Praia da Luz. She hears Kate McCann scream: “They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her!” The McCanns say Kate screamed “Madeleine’s gone”.
Sensation. Front-page news.
Page 4: “Nanny Pennington, who worked at the Ocean Club, is pictured. She’s wearing a brown beret and a pink coat. Her tights are black. Her legs are crossed.
“I was in the apartment less than five minutes after they found that Madeleine had gone. When we were coming out we saw Kate and she was screaming: ‘They’ve taken her, they’ve taken her’… It might not have been the first thing she said. But she definitely said it.”
So…
“She also repeated Madeleine’s name and said: ‘She’s gone, she’s gone.’”
Anyone hear anything else?
THE SUN page 24: “MADDIE LAW CHIEF: NO BODY, NO CASE.” Antonio Clunes says: “There have been cases in which it was possible to obtain a conviction without a victim – but there were confessions.”
But the McCanns are innocent, says a source. And they are not confessing. They are talking through their spokesperson.
DAILY STAR front page: “COPS CLOSE IN ON MADDIE. Final pieces of tragic jigsaw falling into place.”
Pages 4 and 5: “FIND THE BODY OR THEY WALK. Law bosses tell Portuguese cops to step up hunt.”
“TWINS’ HOUSE OF LOVE” – Clarence Mitchell says the McCanns have built a “house of love” for their family. Mr Mitchell says the McCanns are living “every parent’s worst nightmare times ten”. Mr Mitchell used to work for the tabloid press.
DAILY TELEGRAPH page 13: “Case against McCanns ‘rests on finding body’.”
Clarence Mitchell says: “They did not harm, let alone kill her.”
THE TIMES page 11: “No body, no conviction says McCann police.”
THE GUARDIAN & THE INDEPENDENT: No Madeleine news.

963 - I didn’t ask about the door. I have no questions about it.
It was that guy “noonethere” who asked you.

I’m of the opinion that the only ‘evidence’ I can believe in this tangled web of lies, deceit, misinformation, self promotion etc etc is that of the ‘cadaver’ dogs ……they clearly discovered a ’scent of death’ and they have nothing to gain except maybe an extra doggy bone as their reward….give me dogs over humans any day when it comes to discovering TRUTH.

Garth - why are you so aggressive? I enjoy Ade’s musings.

962,
actually you are digging, this drawing is a mock up, and you are stretching it to suit your purpose. I laughed when I saw the image.

I just had a look at the photo of the, what-look-like-gypsies, in Morocco - the woman, or is it a man in a skirt?, with a small fair haired child strapped on his back. And they’re walking openly along a road. And that’s definitely Madeleine is it according to some hysterical Spanish woman with her eye on the dosh? Come on! Is she still drugged or has she quickly forgotten her real mummy and daddy (she looks quite happy), and what would these kind of people want with the world’s most famous child? There’s literally hundreds of thousands of children exactly like Madeleine. I see them every day in the supermarket, in the school playground, in the street - everywhere.I bet there’s thousands of fair haired children in Morocco. They’re not all dark and swarthy. Why should children traffickers bother with an elaborate abduction in Portugal and take a perfectly ordinary little girl however many miles it is to gypsies in Morocco? The whole abduction theory is utterly ridiculous and laughable when they come up with evidence like this. I think “ludicrous” is the buzz word.

and to all the people who donated money to the fund then the next time they are out take a good long look at the toddlers you see at the age of 3 or under and tell yourselfs i donated money towards a family who thought it quite normal to leave children of that age alone… i have suported what they did.

956 - Ade says: “I must admit I find it fascinating why people have to be so nosey about how other people choose to spend their time. If I want to spend 5 days on this site, 5 days it shall be”
LOL!! Maybe because of people who feel compelled to share so much of where they are and where they’ve been? Refer to post # 953
LOL!!! Very funny, isn’t it??!!

The door is shown as number 3 in the plan at the url in post 950. This is the plan that I posted on a different day - probably Thursday or Friday.

958 - on for heaven’s sake that is a really silly response. Next you will suggest it was drawn by the PJ since the day before yesterday when Gerry finally remembered this!!!! Stop digging.

949,
would love to know who actually drew the overview map. It does not look like an official architects drawing, rather like a quick mock up. Also it shows that the bathroom door opens inwards, I read that Gerry also said an abductor may have been hiding in the bathroom. Anyway unless you actually go to warner resort that mock up means nothing.

Thank you for your concern about my lifestyle. Maybe I don’t need to work but that’s my business. I have been here since Thursday but it seems like months…
Yes, the bedroom door opens towards you, which I agree is unusual and that is why the McConn storyline spinner slipped up. The plan I referred to clearly shows this fact. The Mark Warner representative referred to in Tony’s post also confirmed that the door “opens towards you”.
So my point is that the unusual door has exposed the way the McConns make up stories to fit their current problem in why their version doesn’t hold water.
I must admit I find it fascinating why people have to be so nosey about how other people choose to spend their time. If I want to spend 5 days on this site, 5 days it shall be.
I may choose to go to Cuba next week. Is that OK with you?

Mods and Admin,
No, stay here, or at least take your laptop

#921, I don’t buy into the fact the cops are the bad guys in this case.
So, the police get kicked in the bu– too for their work. That is beginning to look like a pattern in the McCann case. People who are well intended end up… The PR and how low it will go is something good for everyone to see! YES.
So far the McCann PR team has managed to give me a SHOCKING view of the workings of the UK.
September 25th, 2007 at 10:25 pm
929 Chloe, I completely agree with you. It suggests to me that the McCanns were indeed asked about DNA evidence in the car, and did not answer it. And their responses in the media to these questions make them sound like they are trying to cover something.
By the way, despite it complicating matters, it is possible to find someone guilty without a body: Nat Fraser was found guilty of murder in Scotland for the murder of his wife, Arlene Fraser, whose body has never been found. Quite an interesting case.

hello everybody.
i’ve been in london all day.
September 25th, 2007 at 10:23 pm
913 Puzzled: I can see why the latest Gerryblog was pulled - it contains an appalling grammatical error: “For Kate and I” which should, of course, read “for Kate and me”. Someone who can commit such a bad lapse of grammar is surely capable of anything. Who needs DNA.

939 - I have often thought about this and more….why is it that they take such good care of their own bodies and health, running, playing tennis, having nice meals with friends, and getting lots of sunshine and swimming in, but their daughter’s health and their children’s safety was totally overlooked?
The running is good for the adrenaline, and seratonin levels as is the sunshine no one can dispute that; but for bloody sakes, take care of your kids and put them first before your own narcissistic needs.
When I turned 40, married with kids, I care only about my kids health and their livelihood better than my own. Going to the gym working out etc. is done ONLY after the kids have all been taken care of properly and are in good hands with a sitter or a relative. And only after they’ve had their exercise and their meals because they come first and foremost. Afterall, isn’t it all about the next generation for people who have brought kids into this world?

Rab - 921
You’re right Rab, you didn’t compare it to UFOs. You compared it to a false moon-landing etc. My mistake. The alleged evidence is of bodily fluid and hair. I don’t see how this proves that she could be dead. Come on, how can you believe that the McCanns, who are not very familiar with the local area, hid their daughters body where no one could find it and then removed it three weeks later. The body would be in heavy decomposition made even worse by the portugal summer heat. And then all their friends conspired to lie about it. That’s just as implausible! Besides, I already pointed out that police in Portugal have engaged in this kind of conspiracy before and that is a fact.

943 - Layout of apartment. In my experience, when space is tight architects frequently do have doors opening outwards because it maximises the space in the room.

Didn’t the phrase “under different circumstances” or “under othert circumstances” crop up in one of katiepoo’s video appearances?
Surely there’s only one set of circumstances: they left their kids alone and now they have one less. That’s all there is…

Please back up your claims. Cops getting kickbacks for trafficking? Those are some harsh accusations with no backup. I never heard anything about this and I’m a news junkie. Source, se faz favor!

941,
I wonder how much your son enjoyed being in a casino.

935 - brenda
Great point. Poor Madeleine…if she’s found she has to face parents that think it’s ok to leave toddlers alone in a room.
September 25th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
933,
yes Ade has all the answers, one question Ade do you actually get any work done in your private life, whenever I check onto this site you are always here. Also I have never really heard of doors opening toward you (if that is what you mean by outwards), most doors push open inwards. Were you there in the McCann apt checking out the doors???
September 25th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
932 - “I have heard that, in theory, there are people for whatever reason protect abusers”
Yes, they are called “Co-dependents”.

930 - Garth
I’m not arrogant because I KNOW I would have taken my children with me to the restaurant that evening. I took my 20 month old son with me to Vegas and he was almost permanently attached to me by way of one of those slings you wear. Because I love my kids dearly, I don’t want to take them someplace and then leave them. How dare you call people arrogant because they say (and know) they would look after their own kids properly and not leave them to go out to a bloody quiz night. I mean…it wasn’t like they were watching an adults only West End Show was it? Those toddlers would have enjoyed the atmosphere in a Tapas Bar and no Portuguese person would have batted an eyelid at that.
