The picture is “sensational”. It has been described as “convincing”, but by whom is not said.

Clara Torres is talking on Spanish radio. She looks at the photo. Says she: “It sent shivers down my spine.”

‘Photo’ is placed in quotes lest readers mistake the picture for a ‘SNAP’ or a ‘SHOT’.
Spanish Government official Jose Herrero Arcas says: “The National Police received a photograph by email taken by a young Spanish couple who believe it shows Madeleine McCann. The quality of the photograph is not very clear and it was taken from around 200 metres away. However, the National Police are taking the claim seriously enough to have sent it on to their colleagues at Interpol. I cannot give any more information than that.”

Page 9: “Gerry McCann is “confident” he and his wife will be cleared. A source tells us: “It is very unlikely that British police would question the McCanns on behalf of the Portuguese now.”
Robert Murat responds to claims by nanny Charlotte Pennington that on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance he was by the McCann family apartment: “I certainly was not there that night. At no point was I there.”

95. Do you have children? Have you ever lost one and not been able to find them for even 5 whole minutes? Imagine, just imagine how wrecked the McCanns must be mentally…..the Pj police are supposed to be able to handle to scrutiny….the parents that screwed up who live everyday in a living hell of worry, guilt, and misery with no closure in sight are lucky to remember to get dressed everyday….if you can just take a moment to empathize with them…just one moment

76 - Firestar. Thank you for your correction. I meant that as far as I know, the Portugese Police (which was Jan’s insinuation, I think) have not ‘accused’ the McCanns of murder. They have said they believe they are involved in her disappearance which is very different.
To be honest, I just get so tired with all the comments about the PJ ‘doing nothing’ etc.. I think it must be very difficult for them - after all their main witnesses - the parents of the very child they are trying to find - have refused to answer straight forward questions. If they are innocent, answer the questions as you will have nothing to hide.

I just realised that you were very bothered by the link I posted yesterday, you must have had some bad dreams during the few hours you slept.
As somebody mentioned last night ,you can contact the artist on the web site, what I did. The answer:” I’m working since about a month with the information which comes up everyday. I’m just making the artistic interpretation and illustrating it, it’s a lot of emotion and art has to be fresh in this sense. It’s not me that is weird or dark, what’s happening is very dark and very weird, I’m just painting what’s in front of me and of course it’s very spooky.

On the point about the photo being doctored ie a picture of Madeleine superimposed somehow onto a ramdom holiday snap to make us beleive it is Madeleine. Everyone on here has had access to all publicly available photos of Madeleine. If the photo was doctored in this way would someone not have identified the original snap of Madeleine, especially due to the distinctive fringe.

Firestar 76, I have to agree with 71 Puzzled.
Technically Puzzled is correct. If the McCanns have refused to answer questions, that alone would mean that they had to be made arguidos in the process. Never mind changing stories, DNA bla bla bla. But that is far from being charged with involvement in a crime.
Now, to draw a paralell with the British legal system, how many people have been brought in by police to be interviewed about the Rhys Jones murder? 17? Does that mean that all these 17 people are being accused of involvement in the murder?

I am not sure, I would like a girl because of having so many boys, but a boy is more likely, as for some reason, there are more of them!
I have to sort out my work situation first though, as ideally, I need a job where I am working only during school hours, and I need to be available during the holidays, because I would like a 5-10 year old, so things are all a bit up in the air right now, but I am really hoping that things will work out, so fingers crossed

if it was taken from 200 meters away, where is the rest of the photo?
as for face recognition softaware, you require a prerequsite amount of facial identifying pointers, as used in fingerprinting.
i have been using photoshop for nearly 20 years, the installation size when i was at uni was just about 87k.
so I would say i know my ground in that field

One reason for not seeing the childs legs is that nomads who walk long disatnces in hot countries tend to use a pouch like sling to protect the child. Its therefore possible that the childs legs are in the fabric that seems to sit porud of the womans other clothing.
